So, I'm a bit late... I'm not sure if you'll even get this, a decade down the track...! I just started a massive re-watch and NobleLandMermaid led me over here and all I can say is that I wish I'd known about fandom life back in the day but anyway, this was great. I spent half of the story with my hand clapped over my mouth, feeling like my heart was in a vice. I laughed at "Rumble in the Dunder" and Dwight's involvement and Creed. The ending was delightfully sappy (I have a goofy grin on my face) and I loved the "I don't know how not to be in love with you" and everything about the scene in the office, but mostly especially Pam being bold and brave and flirty and then taking Jim home with her.

This is without a doubt one of my very favorite post cocktails stories! I love that Jim begins his day completely detrmined to continue being distant and cold to Pam, believing that his relationship with Karen is gaining some sort of substance. I love the complete 360 degree turn he does at the very first hint that something may not be okay in Pam's world and then how he becomes completely protective of her. I really love that unlike many of the other stories out there, in yours Jim does not blame or take Roy's actions out on Pam but rather wants to go to her, protect her but since he can't do that right then he does the best he can and just reassures her. Then I love how quickly he sees through Karen's fake concern, how he notices that the only time her voice took on a caring and concerned quality was when she said something for Pam to hear. It's great how even as they are leaving he just knows that he and Karen are done and that he and Pam are not done. Finally I love how you have them take some time, get comfortable being friends, fitting back into their old dynamic even as each of them is longing for more. How appropriate for things to come full circle and for Pam to decide that the second Casino Night is the perfect time to declare her love even as she incorparates the elements that loves about her, her artwork, a picture that knowing Jim he probably framed, and then a good prank on Dwight. Oh and I love that as he wakes he realizes that he doesn't want pam as simply his girlfriend, he wants to marry her though I suspect he's known that somewhere in his heart for years. Such a great job abd you were able to change a few things about some of the characters just slightly while still keeping their own unique personalities. Oh, one last thing... I LOVE Micheal hiding under the desk, can TOTALLY ee him going that and then when he asks if it's safe to come out Pam says he better stay a little longer and closes his door. really REALLY great story!

I really loved this story. It flowed really well, it didn't feel rushed or drawn out. I loved the idea of Casino Night part 2.  :) Great job!!

“Course, Jim, you’re gonna have to come closer, if you recall this is sensitive information and the walls do have ears.”

GUH. So hot. I love flirty!Pam!

Jim stepped forward until he was standing right in front of Pam. He rested his fingertips on either side of her on his desk, trapping her; he would not let her go this time.

Seriously, this is one of the hottest images in the history of images. Fantastic.

“I’ve waited, wow, what feels like forever, to hear you say those words to me.  Pam, I definitely still love you, I don’t know how not to be in love with you.”

This struck me as such a Jim way to say this. I could jsut see him saying every word of it. I think it's challenging to write these big emotional "I love you" moments, and you did a great job here.

And the “Your place or mine?” moment? PRICELESS. And I loooove what you've done with the ending. This part:

“We could leave a Staples bag on Creed’s desk Monday morning.”

Made me laugh out loud. Seriously. I'm sort of sad to see this fic go! You better send me some stuff soon :)

Guuhhhh! Soooo good uncgirl. I love love love this Casino Night part two. The sketch idea was brilliant, *sigh* if only..

Author's Response:

Dear Office writers, it is too much to ask?  Let's just have a do-over, what do you say?

Thanks for the review and I'm so happy you enjoyed it.  Now if they would just put these two people together huh?

I really liked your story...even if you're an Ohio State hater! :) I like that you added some prank banter at the end...that's the basis of this whole relationship, haha

Author's Response: Well, truth be told, it is my husband that has the Ohio State issue, he is an Penn State Fan big time.  I'm (obviously) a UNC fan, so Duke is my least favorite!  But I do love Columbus!  Thanks for reading and I'm glad you liked it.  Shan21 suggested that I end on a Dwight note and then it went from there, but I do like the ending, because I think that JAM together is really the same as JAM just friends, but with the added romance.  Thank you again!

If there is a fight in the office, Michael will do exactly what you wrote :)

Author's Response: hee hee, I think he totally would, and then he'd make up an excuse for hiding later.

"Let him have it, Johnny!"  I love that line!  Oh, and Pam telling Michael to stay under the desk a little longer.  You really have the humor of the show down.  And the drama, too.  It's so sad.

Author's Response: Kites, glad you could pick it up and have enjoyed it.  I really love the ensemble part of the Office, especially this year with JAM being so darn stubborn.  And really Creed, isn't he just the best......

It is very sweet, but sweet is good.  (Smut is also good. Steam also.  Angst is only good in small portions, and only if we get eventually to one or more of: sweet, smut, and steam.)

I've enjoyed your story.  I really loved these lines: "She was wearing his shirt from last night which was so intimate and sexy that he felt an incredible wave of love and passion wash over him. Hitting him all at once, he realized that it would never be enough to just date her, or just live with her, he wanted to marry her."

Just lovely.

Author's Response:

Too Late Kev, thank you again!  I really appreciate that you've stayed with me and let me know what you're thinking.  (I'm still learning....) I'm glad you liked the ending, and I love the lines you pulled out.  It was such a contrast to me between jim and roy, Roy would be happy dating her forever, Jim would not be happy until they were truly one.

BTW, I'm a fan of the smut and steam myself, but I frankly can't write it.  In fact, some of it I can't even read without blushing......but I do agree that you need it to cut the angst.  Thank you so much for all the reviews, they have made me very happy!  (I'm such an attention whore.....)

Her breath caught in her chest as she felt the love for him roll through her.   Great line.

I think you hit it out of the park.  If you're gonna do sweet, I'm all for doing it all the way sweet.  Really great, I enjoyed it a ton.

Author's Response:

Brokenloon - Thanks so much!  You're always there to review my chapters, and I really appreciate it!  I'm glad you liked the story, and that you didn't think the end was toooooo sugary.  By the way, i think your stories are great too!

You know what I call that ending? Cruelty to fic readers. There should be organizations. And protests. And signs. And acronyms.

Wow, I'm not usually that exuberant. Regardless, this is heating up nicely and I really can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response:

I'm really sorry I just saw that I hadn't responded.  My southern sensibility won't have that!   I'm sorry for the cliffhanger, I honestly didn't think it was, but reading it through the readers' eyes it clearly was.  Hope I made up for it!

Let's see, what acronym, could we use...... oh shoot totally drawing a blank.....

Just got caught up with this one. I am liking it and excited to see what happens next! Your Dwight and Creed make me laugh. Well done!

Author's Response:

Yeah they are two of my favorite characters, Dwight in particular has really been coming into his own lately.  I mean I love JAM, but aren't Dwight and Angela so sweet!  Thanks for the review and I'm so happy you enjoyed it.

SO GOOD.

Okay, “Rumble in the Dunder” is hilarious. And so michael.

she could see his face all day long.  She watched as the bruises and cuts healed up, while they simultaneously worked on repairing their broken friendship.

Just beautiful. I love the way you wrote it and the suggestion of slow healing. I also love that they're taking it slow in this. Very realistic.

He leaned into her and responded, “What kind of rematch you have in mind Beesly?”

Um, fantastic. I would have pulled him across the desk, absolutely.

And let’s face it, how well do we know our co-workers? Have you ever seen Creed do anything?”

Quite possibly my favorite part of this chapter. So very Dwight and fantastic use of a Creed mention.

And the ending?! Jeeze! I can't wait for ch9!!!

Author's Response:

You made my whole day with such big reviews.  I love hearing what things worked for people, to see if it is the same things I liked or different.  I've decided that ensemble pieces are my favorite right now.  Even though it has been a bad year for JAM, it has been a great year for Dwangela.  and don't get me started about creed, seriously isn't he the best character.  He is never on screen that I am not dying laughing.

I also think that at this point, Pam and Jim have alot of things to work on together, so I like the idea of them really starting over.  I'd like to go back a year in the show and redo.....  Thanks Shan for all the support!  You know I think your stories are the best!

I can't believe I took so long to read this chapter. You might have guessed that I'm a bit more sympathetic to Karen than the average Jammer, so of course I LOVE what you've done with her here. I mean, right from the point when she says, “Let’s try the truth for a change Jim.” and he says,  "but in the end what you have to know is…… I didn’t mean to hurt you." I mean, wow. That is just a perfect start to this falling out. And your middle and end are perfect too.

Because honestly, if I was Karen, I'd feel just as you depicted her here. Shocked, because he seemed like such a great guy. Angry, because he led her on, whether he meant to or not.

There is too much awesome in this chapter for me to detail, but suffice it to say it's perfect. On to ch 8!

Author's Response: I really was happy with the way this came out, both 7 and 8, more than other things i've written.  I thought it was very honest.  And I've said it before but, I'm a wee little bit hacked off with Jim right now.  So... I let Karen say all the things I wish I could.  It made me feel better, and her too I hope :-)

Oh, I'm still reading and can't wait for more, eagerly anticipating the goodness ahead.  It suits my tastes perfectly.  Pam's use of Dwight made me smile.

Author's Response: Yeah that all seemed too perfect.  I loved that Dwight was an important piece because Jim likes it when Pam pranks Dwight and because it was important info....I also loved that Dwight had no idea how important he really is - ie helping JAM get together.....Thanks so much for the review!

write more soon, because if not i will have to come aunt you. or better yet, force greg daniels to do something. but that could wind me up in jail, so, i should stick with you writing more

Ok i'll admit it, I drag it out because sometimes I don't know where I am going, just enjoying trying to get there......

I don't want you to go to jail though....so I'll post this weekend probably....btw, I am so ready to know what Jim's Secret is......hint hint.....
