I wish I had an intelligent review to leave here, particularly since this story is a decade plus old. Instead, a squeeing noise. *squee*

Author's Response: A squee is a perfectly wonderful review, thank you! I had to actually re-read this before I could respond to remember which story it was. I think I make Pam a little too chatty here; her first long dialogue could have been cut a lot and still got the point across. But I am so happy you liked it! Wouldn't it have been fun for her to just....say something! (But I'm happy with how it worked out).

You have a real gift for ending fics a beat or two before I would, but actually at the perfect place. We can all tell where it's going to go, so you don't need anything more. It's beautiful stark minimalism, and this story is a prime example.

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I always wonder if I've stopped too short, but I really do feel like this world is so vividly imagined (in the show and across fanfic) that the rest is easy to fill in. It's a lovely surprise when someone finds and likes something I wrote so long ago. Thanks, again!

I pissed me off also Pam. I've got my GRR face on!

Okay, Jim, it is so not to late! Just kiss her you fool!

He's not in love with her. :)

Which.... is a really weird way to end a fic about Jim and Pam, because usually they end with Jim loving Pam, and it is, but okay, I'm talking myself in circles.

Jim and Pam are in love. There. That works.

Author's Response: Yes, yes they are! Hee. Thanks!

Gah!  I'm so sorry I didn't review this one earlier!

Anyways, you know I loved this piece.  It was so Pam to finally loose it after something as inconsequential as inane breakroom pleasanties.  I love the idea of Jim's "carefully blank" face.  And the parallels to the infamous "I can't" from Casino Night!

Author's Response: Thank you! I actually liked waiting for your review, because I knew I'd get one more! :)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!  Go FNB!  It's your birthday!

Love it.  So forceful and yet logical--everything Pam said was so so true.  And it worked!  Hooray!

Author's Response: Oh, you'll definitely hear me shouting "hooray" when we finally get FNB's declaration on-screen! Courage and honesty,  Pam! Thank you so much- I'm glad you liked it!

Wonderful story.  I loved Pam pushing until Jim couldn't fight her anymore.  That last line says it all:)  Great job.

Author's Response: Thank you! Pam put up with Roy for ten years- she's not weak, she's just got to be convinced to use her strength. Courage, Pam! Thanks, again.

Ahhhhh.  I was just holding my breath as she was telling it was not too late.  It may be a variation, but what a variation.  That was sooooo good. [/Michael]  I love that story.  It better be close to what happens!

Author's Response: If she would just speak up! Thank you so much! I'm a little worried about all the breath-holding this inspired. Breathe, people, breathe! :)

woo hoo! why can't NBC take your ideas? of course he's not in love with her! and i have faith that pam has the guts to stand up for what she wants.

Author's Response:

She just needs some courage- may Michael's wish come true! Thank you so much!

You did a beautiful job with this.  I agree with you and others that Jim initially will rebuff Pam's advances, but like Jim on CN, FNB will have to dig down deep and push past that silly boy's wall.  No more misinterpreting, you two!

Author's Response: Seriously, they need to get to it! Thank you very much!!

Just like Collette, I held my breath while reading this.  And when I got to the last line I swear my smile could have lit up the room. I absolutely loved this. And if it were the 100 billionth take on the theme, I would still love it and put it in my favorites.

Author's Response: Awww, thank you! Your comments light up my room. Or something less cheesy. :)

This is just great!  I loved it - one of the things that I love about your writing is that you get to the point, and though you have a lot of wonderful exposition, you always know just where to leave it!  Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's really cool to get a comment about my writing as a whole- I tend to think of all my stuff as separate and forget that people read it with "me" in mind. I'm glad you enjoyed this!

Does this pack a punch! I literally held my breath from the second she followed him into the break room until the very last line. And what a cathartic last line it is! Love her determination - really captures that sense of not being able to stop, once she's started. And of her desperation to break through his carefully constructed defenses. Such a simple, clear but intensely powerful moment. Beautifully written.

Author's Response:

Thank goodness it wasn't very long, if you held your breath! :)  Seriously, thank you so much. Your reviews are as eloquent as your fic! I do think it can be simple for them- they just need some honesty and some determination. Thank you again!

Oh please oh please oh please oh please Mr Daniels.  Can we just see something half as good as this???

So good.  SIGH.  Thank you.

Author's Response: "You're welcome" seems so silly- because I'm the one who should be thanking YOU! So- thank you! I don't need to see a big fight, but they do need to clear the air and it has to be Pam who pushes the issue. Fingers crossed, sweetie!

YAYYY!! If Pam gives a speech even resembling your wonderfully-written one I will stand up and cheer! Great job.

Author's Response:

Thank you! I'll be cheering, too. She needs to speak up!

Do not apologize for this 'variation on a theme' -  it's just lovely!

Author's Response: Thank you! I see people very concerned that Jim will say "it's too late" when Pam finally confesses. I think that's exactly what he'll say, actually, but that's not the important part. It's Pam's reaction to that which will matter! Thanks again!

I LOVED this. So good. I especially liked this:

One of the things she loved about Jim (and she did love him, she did) was the way his face conveyed all his emotions. She knew now that he’d told her a million times how much he loved her- with his eyebrows, his eyes, his smile, the tightness in his jaw, the creases in his forehead, and once even with his voice. So she stared at his face now, knowing that it would tell her the truth even if his voice couldn’t.

I'd love to see this happen on the show. Thanks!

Author's Response: Oh, thank you. I mean, we love Jim because of his facial expressions, right? That's how we know he loves her, mostly- I think she knows, too, and loves the same thing. Thanks again!
