I loved every one.  You rock!  Pam was my favorite, how she was comparing all her different courageous acts during the past months.  And Michael, who would never consider staying home when he knows how much he is needed by his "family" at the office.

Thanks!

Author's Response: Aw, thanks!

Aw.  This was perfect. All were lovely, but I found Michael's vignette unexpectedly touching. It made Darrell's speech in "Safety Training" suddenly ring very, very true.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Yay.  Another Hip fan.  No one knows who they are outside of Canada and the north eastern states.

Also, Dwight's Mose thing made me shudder in revulsion.  So good job.

Author's Response: When I wrote the thing about Mose, I was thinking about a sort of brotherly, Christmas gathering type kiss (who knows what the holidays are like on that farm?), but in retrospect, it could sound a bit revolting. Like maybe they used to practice on each other? If it's okay for Luke and Leia, it's okay for the Schrutes?

One of my favourite Tragically Hip songs, and I just loved how Michael never even considered staying in bed. So true.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much! And I'm kind of surprised how many people know The Hip (eh.)

I really love this. Especially the Michael one. It was honestly one of the most touching stories about Michael I've ever read. They were all great, but for some reason that one really resonated with me. Probably b/c I just watched Take Your Daughter to Work Day last night. I always feel sad for Michael after that episode.

Anyway, great job!

Author's Response:

It's so funny you would say that about Take Your Daughter, because I was originally going to set his section during that episode, but couldn't make "Courage" work to my satisfaction. I kept changing my mind, then finally wrote this version in literally 90 seconds. Once I remembered Darryl telling Michael it takes courage just to be him, I knew it was simple: describe his life at one of its truely low points, then get him out of bed. Courage!

Thanks for commenting, Azlin!

Well, if this is the quickie you tossed off, I can only imagine what the story you've been working on for a while is like.

First, love the idea of highlighting character-specific moments along the same theme. Jan's was especially apt - what's the worst that could happen? is somehow perfect for the attraction/repulsion dance she does with Michael.

And bracketing this with Jim's near-miss moment in Booze Cruise and near-fatal one in CN...and Pam's triumphant one in BG is so smart  - because their relationship kind of provides the emotional framework for the show, doesn't it?  Really poignant.

Author's Response: Your comments always make my day, Colette. Thank you so much. I hope I'll never disappoint.

That was beautiful, and maybe it's the lack of sleep, but I'm a little teary eyed. Love the theme connecting all of these instances. Great job!!

Author's Response: Aw, that's so sweet of you! Thanks, dramaqueen!

It's not too late for the happy ending!!! We got it! (Yay.)

Angela and Pam are my favorite chapters.  Love, love, love.  But the rest are really good too.

Author's Response: I know, happy ending! But she didn't know that at the time, did she? Thanks so much for the lovely comment!

Oh, I hadn't heard that song in a long time...good choice!  They're six instances of courage or folly; I'm not quite sure which! LOL  I thought you picked perfect moments for each character that would have seemed a momentous accomplishment in terms of facing their fears.  Very interesting read. :)

Author's Response: That song was the first thing I though of when I read the office500 challenge. Which, I guess I didn't mentino in my author's notes, that this was for a challenge. Oops. I'll see if I can fix that. Thanks, MA!
