I love the glimpse into what was going through Jim's mind when he made the decision to interview for the Stamford position! Now that I finally get the happily ever after with Jim and Pam on the real show, it's much easier to read the not-so-happy periods of these two.

And that last line made me ache for what they went through before Season 4. Great fic!

Aw, this was lovely and painful. That last line's a kicker - because he has to tell her to be able to live with himself at all, but he's still thinking in terms of leaving after, like he knows it's not going to go well (but he just needs her to know - once). Poor, poor Jim.

Author's Response:

Exactly. It's about what he's got to do as opposed to what he should do. He knows it'd probably be best to keep his mouth shut, to live every day like he has. But the one great regret in his life would be to not have told her. I say he's tired of playing it safe and erring on the side of caution. I remember seeing somewhere that if you marathon the second season properly, it becomes painfully obvious what Jim's emotional state is throughout, and where it progresses. It actually becomes appropriate (but still always very surprising) for him to tell her he's in love with her.

Thank you for the review!

oooh.. i love.. sad, and bittersweet, but i love.

and jim, if the elastic on your boxers are itchy, there's a very simple solution: TAKE THEM OFF. ^________^

Author's Response:

Aw. Thank you.

*laughs* That was inspired by the time I accidentally fell asleep in Bermuda shorts, and when I woke up the elastic itched like crazy and left a mark on my waistline.

This was seriously good.  You'll never get much readership here without Jam fluff, but those people are just shallow and don't know what they're missing when they skip over this one of yours.  I hope you write more for this fandom - lots more - and maybe even something from this year!

Author's Response:

Er. Thank you? *grin*

You actually are the reason I started putting up original post dates in the end notes. :D

Whoa, amazing first delve into the Office fandom! Seriously, Jim is written so well. I really love this. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you very much!
