This was amazingly beautiful. I will admit that the ending confused me. For one thing, I have never heard of Ed Calle and thought perhaps she was running him over. And in the paragraph before that, this line has me curious as to its meaning - "...and she hears herself promising the devastated reflection in her mirror that it ends tonight."

Author's Response: *laughs* Ed Calle is a professional jazz saxophonist from Miami whose song, Autumn, is well known without anyone knowing its title. It's a very lovely piece that is both sensual and chaste, both evocative of falling leaves and crisp air as it is of new school supplies and the crunch of dry leaves.

Author's Response:

And, of course, thank you very much.

That was one awesome mood piece you've given us.  I can't get over how much I like your understated, sort of gritty style.

Author's Response:

I can't get over how I love that you're reviewing all my stories. *grin* If my style is gritty, it's only because the show asks us to look unflinchingly at the, for lack of a better phrase, beauty in the breakdown.

Thank you!

Another lovely piece!  Your imagery is really stunning.  Are you an artist, by chance?

Author's Response:

Artist? Alas, I'm in truth a singer and a writer, and an avid reader. Mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery, right? *laughs* I think it's more the fact that I've had training in appraising art, which involves noticing the smaller details that add texture and contour and meaning.

Thank you very much!

Wow I really love this. Its beautiful and I love the imagery. Plus, awesome taste in music :) I hope this isnt it!

Author's Response:

Alas, it is. I've only written oneshots, and I kind of like it that way, to be honest.

Heh. Those are pretty much the only indie artists in my collection. I have Dandy Warhols, too, but I gotta say I love me the Dismemberment Plan.  And Ed Calle deserves some major props for being awesome.

Thank you so much.
