Wow, I was cruising through the MTT archive tonight and found this gem of a story and thought 2 things - (1) how did I miss this back in May 2007 and (2) wow, this was such a perfectly titled and perfectly written story to express what we all were feeling after the S3 finale!! Great job!!!

This is practically impossible to read without smiling. Seeing Jim's thoughts before the date is a lot of fun. I like the way you interspersed the manic-giddy thoughts (the italics) in the narrative. I like the small reference to NY with the packed bag and that you left it at that - those thoughts are for another time. Again, this is a lot of fun.

I love this so much! As awesome as the season finale was, the JAM stuff was so quiet and somber, at times; I love this idea of post-finale giddiness. And Jim needing meds so his smile doesn't break his face = so, so cute. Great job!

I love this! I really like how you've shown Jim's nervousness, because so often, he's the smooth one and Pam's the wreck, so i like the difference. I wouldn't mind at all if you continued this, or wrote a sequel ;-)

Great description. Just reading this made me feel giddy and a little drunk too. Love when he tells her he's going to kiss her - could just picture him realizing what just popped out of his mouth and being all embarrassed. He SO wouldn't be smooth on/about this date. Thank god dorky, sweet, funny Jim is back.

OMG, I LOVE THIS. I'm already feeling unbelievable amounts of hyper because I just rewatched the scene for the first time in three days because my computer wasn't working, and I'm also hyper because I cut my hair short, and I'm also hyper because I'm listening to old songs like The Twist and ShBoom and I'm also hyper, I think, because I may be channeling Kelly, or DRUNK.
But how much do I love this?! Unbelievable amounts. The high! The drunkenness!
