I'm in love with you!!!! AHhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Jesus! I have been waiting for an update and here it is. This is absolutely my favorite chapter in the series.... how can he leave her and wait for tomorrow? You know the feeling of watching a really good episode of anything and you just can't wait for the next week? That is how I feel. This story is so incredibly romantic in so many ways. I wasn't sure about reading AU but after this story I will never doubt it again. Am I saying too much? Probably but I don't care:) Great job, keep them coming!
Author's Response: Wow!! This is your favourite chapter? I'm completely flattered- thank you so much! As hard as it is for them to walk away, I figured it was best since (afterall) he'd just broken up with Karen the night before. And those feelings have to spark up again anyway... I'm especially happy to hear that you gave my fic a chance despite its semi-AU status (well, more future status, right?) and that you're enjoying it. Thank you very, very much for reading and reviewing.

“sono innamorata di te.” Awwww. I love this story. I love that they're finally finding their way to each other, and in Rome of all places. Can't wait for the next chapter! :)
Author's Response: Wow! Thank you so much. I'm very glad to hear that you're enjoying the story. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing.

Aw! I love it! All of it! Every last bit of it! :D And the end! Oh the end! :D
And the only thing that I don't like (which really isn't a bad thing at all) is how fast the chapters go! They just flow so well that by the time I get to the end I'm left thinking, "Wait! That's it! NO! I just started!" So I'm always, always anxious and awaiting updates from you!
This is probably my favorite story on MTT right now and you have really done an amazing job. :)
Author's Response: You are so sweet! Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. I'm completely flattered- thank you. You've been such an awesome reviewer and reader.

I'm so glad you had Karen figure out that Jim was hesitant and unsure, because I was picturing Jim just going along with it and Karen would wear the ring, Pam would run into them, see the ring and give up on Jim forever. Kudos to Karen for not flipping out entirely, because I would thrown the ring down the nearest toilet or out the window or something! Now, is this the last of Karen? Or no? Post soon!!!
Ooh, I actually debated having Jim toss the ring into the Tiber River as a scene. LOL But passed that up- cause I'm sure it would have cost him a month's salary and I always figured Jim to be somewhat frugal. Heh. I'm pretty certain this is the last of Karen, we'll see.... Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

This fic keeps getting better and better. I felt really terrible for Karen here, I mean that has to hurt. But I rebounded quickly with Jim finding her at the festival! The banter over the phrase book was genius. And I practically squeed with his last line!
Author's Response: You made me laugh with your comment about how you rebounded fast when Jim found Pam at the festival. Thank you so very much for the awesome comments. The phrasebook idea sort of came to me half way through writing the story- so I'm happy to hear that it works. Thanks for reading and reviewing :)

YAY!!!!!!!!! They finally found each other AND even better...after Jim & Karen broke up. This makes me quite happy. Can't wait to read about their talk (because they sure need that). Lovely lovely chapter.
Author's Response: Aww!! Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked the direction that I took in terms of the breakup and reunion of Jim and Pam. Stay tuned for their talk. Thanks, as always, for reading and reviewing :)

I think I know what the last line means and if I'm right, I can only hope we get to see Pam's reaction when she translates it!
I am simply enchanted by this story.
Author's Response: Don't worry- you will :) Thank you so much for the amazing compliments and for reading and taking the time to review. I really appreciate the feedback!

This story has really be fabulous - I'm sorry I haven't review before, but it's just so sweet. I'm enjoying it so much!!

Awesome chapter name! And "What If I loved You" StarryDreamer for this awesomely wonderful story? I was so excited to see you updated it. I applaud Jim's honesty with Karen in discussing why he hadn't proposed and why he never would. Very well done. And I loved Jim running into Pam at the Festival. Now I'm off to check out your links...
Author's Response: ... I'd just have to love you back for such an awesome review! How happy am I to hear that you thought that the Jim/Karen break up played out well. Thank you so much for the lovely review.

So here's the thing (are you listening? Don't make me bang on the keyboard!): Given the fact that I've read this more than a few times now, it logically should lose a little of its punch, no matter how good it is. But it's really astonishing how much it STILL packs such an emotional ooomph. The image of the OLotS festival you present here is absolutely gorgeous, eclipsed only by the care (grace?) with which you depict Jim & Pam's reunion.
Just beautiful, amazing. I could go on and on, but really -- let me just say this: This fic is as amazing as John Krasinski's forearms. Oh yes, I went there. (Uh, I should clarify, perhaps, that it's amazing for slightly different reasons, LOL.)
Author's Response: I'm listening! I'm listening! Stop banging your keyboard, you'll break it (and then what will you have to bang?) TWSS. Thank you for the awesome feedback. I don't think there are enough ways to say thank you to you. But I am truly appreciative. Really and truly. C'e del parmigiano?

WOW...that chapter was PERFECT. I love how they fell into sync like automatically. and the whole karen and jim thing was kind of sad. i'm glad it wasn't like a crazy horrible break up. and i'm almost tempted to look up sono innamorata di te on dictionary.com...but i don't think i will....that would just be being TOO obsessive. sigh. amazing chapter as usual!
The mystery of the sentence will be solved next chapter... But I wouldn't think you're crazy if you looked it up (but I can't guarantee the accuracy of online translation dictionaries LOL) Thanks so much for the awesome review, I'm so glad you loved the reunion.

I'm sorry for the Entourage shoutout... that chapter had me feeling like Drama when he stood up in his convertible and shouted VICTORY! into the Grand Canyon. Just awesome. When Jim walked in to find Karen with The Ring... chills. Seriously.
Author's Response: Wow! LOL That is certainly quite the compliment. Thank you so much!!

This was an amazing chapter. It was so good "I got goosebumps." Seriously, your description of the scenery really makes it come alive for a very romantic setting. Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Oh wow!! Goosebumps? That's quite the compliment! Thank you so much. I'm happy to hear that you're enjoying the story!

My little knowledge of Italian is making me very excited for the next chapter! Not to mention the planned discussion between Jim and Pam!
Oh! This is so fun!
Really well done!
Author's Response: oooh! Shhhh... no spilling secrets ;-) Mind you anyone with a Lonely Planet phrasebook could probably look it up. LOL I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

I think I have very selective memory. Selective meaning - remember happy Jim/Pam actually, any Jim/Pam, and forgetting that Karen found the ring. And then reading the first sentence it was like oh dratit, she found the ring. Darn her. Hasn't she fallen off a cliff yet!
Aww, but as much as I want it to happen, it was still heartbreaking as Karen realized he didn't want to marry her.
And the fact that Pam has such an effect on Jim's life is kinda like what The Office has on mine. Totally sad, but true.
And I would be pissed if I was Karen. You finally think you are moving past Pam, just to have her in this whole mess again. But I still want her gone, so I am only slightly pissed and heartbroken.
"Both were heartbroken for very different reasons."
Okay, so have in any of my previous reviews done random Friends quotes? If not, here is one.
So that reminded me of the Friends episode, where Chandler is talking to the Chick and watching Baywatch. And he says that Yasmine Bleeth (i believe) is also a chick. And he loves them both. But in very different ways. I am about 90% sure on the scene. But since TO is taking up all my DVD time, my Friends DVDs are feeling a little left out.
La Griffe hotel reminds me of The Giraffe. :)
So, in an odd way, I kept expecting this chapter to end... even though I knew they met, I kept feeling like it would be a cliffhanger before it did. And if that sounds like a bad thing, it isn't. I dunno, I was just rereading it, and it isn't a bad thing. And I was glad that they did finally meet. And talk.
But I will also say that I read hooked as hookers, so apparently, my brain isn't really working right today.
Haha, that phrase book sounds SO FUNNY. I may just have to get one just to learn really random bizarre phrases.
FreeTranslation.com: sono innamorata di te --> I am enchanted of you!!!!!
Author's Response: Your free translation is WRONG! (at least according to Pam's phrasebook) Muhahahaha. You'll have to stay tuned (and hopefully no one will spoil you on it!) Wow, 2 "Friends" connections in one chapter? I had no idea! LOL Thanks a ton for the awesome review.

Wow. He just needed her to know. Again.
Wonderful chapter. I feel kind of badly for Karen. Ouch.
It's also sort of sad that Pam and Jim are parting, and won't meet up again until tomorrow at noon! It doesn't seem that either one has that much they have to do at this moment. But, of course, Pam doesn't know that Jim and Karen just broke up, and they probably are both a bit shell-shocked about seeing each other.
Good, good chapter!
Author's Response: Yes, yes he did. You've nailed it completely. Thank you so much for the amazing review!

This is one of the few stories that I check back for every time I'm online (other recent ones were Stolen and the gorgeous Map of the World). I love that this story is taking its time... Chapter 6 and Pam's just discovered they are both in Rome! You are also spoiling us with some truly lush and vivid descriptions. The Trevi Fountain a few chapters back stands out, as does the Mouth of Truth in this one. Maybe I should just go out and get dinner already, but I'd love some lovely food scenes, since food is such a big part of a visit to Italy.
Author's Response: Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of Italian food (blasphemous, I know... especially since I'm half Italian! LOL) so it's very difficult for me to write lovely eating scenes. I can promise you in the near future though that there will be several more "locational" scenes- so hopefully that will make up for the lack of eating (ah, who needs to eat anyway! LOL) Thanks so much for the wonderful compliments- you are such a sweetheart to say such nice things- so thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I am really loving this story. :) Your descriptions and information on Rome is lovely. Roman Holiday is one of my favorite movies, and the Mouth of Truth is one of my favorite scenes, so I appreciate the reference. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Thank you so very much! A lot of people have mentioned that they love Roman Holiday- it is really and truly a sweet romance, no? Thank you for reading and reviewing... and who knows- maybe the Mouth of Truth will make a return performance ;-)

I'm officially coming out of fanfic lurkdom to say...I freaking love this story! I literally cannot wait to see what you have planned for this. And I kind of want to go to Rome now.
Author's Response: Wow!! I feel so honoured that you chose my little story to come out of fanfic lurkdom for! Rome is awesome- you should definitely go! Thank you so much for reading and reviewing my story!

I was screaming at Pam to just go up to him! I bet Karen would have flipped out, heh. But instead I flipped out when she found the ring! Ah!!
Jim is in quite the pickle.
Author's Response: Jim is indeed in quite the pickle. How will he respond? ;-) Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
Date: June 15, 2007 06:12 pm Title: Chapter 5: Which One Will The Fountain Bless?
Boy is Jim going to be surprised when he finds out that yes, Pam actually IS in Rome! SOOO close..yet so far away...
Why are you doing this to
us them? Heh, love it.
Author's Response: Because I love to torture....? Heh. :) Thanks again!!!

Oooo, Jim's gettin' gutsy. I love how our level of courage increases when we hide behind facebook and such. Oh, well, as long as it gets these two crazy kids together!
And thank you for reviving my love for the Renaissance and Roman architecture, but are you going to buy me a plane ticket to Italy? No. What a tease :)
Author's Response: Our courage does multiply when we're online, doesn't it? Unfortunately no plane tickets come with reading this fic (I know! What a shame, right?) But you do get one awesome thing though- my love and appreciation for your amazing reviews. You rock!
