Good chapter, although I'm not sure Karen would kick Pam's ass if Pam hurt Jim.  More likely, Karen would laugh her ass off.  Woman scorned, and all that.

I especially like the Ryan/Kelly dynamic in this chapter (Bastard!) - that's pretty funny, and kind of likely.

Very nice wrap up for Karen's sort of happy ending.  Take a bow, Gruntled.

I really enjoyed this story a lot. You did all of the characters justice, made them all sympathetic. Which is how I see them as wel, but it's a rare fic that manages to get all the voices so perfect and construct a plot that treats them all fairly. Nicely done!

Yeah, see, I bet getting that house so close to Jim doesn't seem like such a good idea anymore, now does it Karen? But ouch, that really would be painful.

Poor Karen. Really, I do feel sorry for her.

Haha. Michael and Kelly always know what to say don't they... :)

Eeek! Calling Pam... yeah, that isn't awkward at all!

"No, she thought, there was no way he would dump her and run off with Pam all in the same day."
Well, maybe not run off... just ask out to dinner. Thats all he did Karen... at least thats all we know for sure. There may have been boinking.

Ah, so she may get another job at coorporate... ah....

See, I am very curious as to what type of drunk I would be... I think I would be a chatty drunk (because when I am tired I am very chatty)... but I really don't want to get drunk to find out... hmm...

So, going to try to make this make sense -
At first I couldn't see Karen really saying and doing all of this. And then, about halfway through, I was like, yeah, I kinda can. Maybe not the professional Karen we usually see, but the Karen hanging with friends, yeah.
And, I really like the way she explained what happened since meeting Jim and how they broke up. It all seems one of those hindsight is 20/20 situations... and its like, yeah, she may not have really caught on so fast, but now its duh why didn't i see that.

That is so Michael. "So I guess you're already okay with Jim boning Pam? Great so far. Interesting look at the situation now from Karens point of view.

Wonderful.  Wow.  I especially liked this: "I'm sorry, did I at some point imply that I didn't blame you?  Because that's pretty much the furthest thing from the truth."

The stuff with Toby was really good, also; I could definitely picture that.

I'm really enjoying this story.

Very good!  I like "Crapwoods, Pennsylvania" and her other job possibility.

Poor Karen has a surprise waiting for her back in Scranton.  Love, Scranton style, a.k.a. Jim and Pam.

You did a wonderful job here.  Karen doesn't realize how ridiculous it all sounds and how ridiculous it all was since she found things out a little bit at a time, but her friends' reactions show her...

I love Rebecca's line "But he was never going to marry you. You realize that, don't you?"  Perfect.

It was good that Karen had her friends around her.

Oh, Karen!  So now he can look at her all day, she thought, that's just great.  Way to take the fun out of something I've been looking forward to!  But seriously, you are bringing a bunch of considerations to light -- Jammy goodness I for one am looking forward to, and showing a whole other side.  Wow.  Nicely done.

YAY! I'm so glad there's somebody (read: you) looking out for Karen. This story made me really happy, thanks so much for sharing!

I'm definitely not on "Team Karen" or anything, but I do enjoy reading fic where she's fleshed out a bit. I like that her friends aren't coddling her; they calling it like they see it. She sure could have used these friends in Scranton.

Aww, why did you have to make me feel sorry for Karen?  Dangit!  I'm really interested in where this leads.  Someplace happy for Karen, I hope.  Poor, doomed Karen.

Author's Response:

It's funny because I don't even like Karen myself, so I'm not sure where this came from. ;)

Thanks for the review!

I like this, especially Karen's friends and their reactions to her nonchalance over her saga with Jim and Pam.  Can't wait for more!
