That's certainly something.  I'm always happy when I see you've posted something new because it's always different by far from the piles of queasiness inducing pink safety foam that dominates the landscape of this fandom.  The fact that you're a great writer and never fail to deliver the goods is a bonus.

Yikes.  What a twist. I'm not sure what I think of this story. At first I angry that Karen was pregnant . Then I was happy that Karen said it was a prank and that she wasn't pregnant and I was wondering who she got to pee on the stick for her. And then I was sad because Karen would be raising the baby alone while thinking she was doing the right thing and Jim would never know about the baby. So, it was a story causing mixed emotions! I really liked the name of the story and how you worked it in at the end.

If this story doesn't fit the 'ingorance is bliss' sentiment, I don't know what does.  That was something.  Very nice.  I like Sketchy!Karen.  Let me rephrase, not sketchy, but sad and a little sneaky.  Argggh!  I just don't really know how to characterize her here but I like it.

Whoa. Uh... Yeah. I need a minute here to collect my thoughts about this.

Whew! This story made my chest hurt. I'm both furious at Karen for being so cruel and yet... no. I'm just mad over here.

Wow. This really struck some kind of chord with me, because I've read it three times in a row, and it won't leave me alone. Sorry for the incoherence of this review, but I'm not sure how to put into words all the emotions I'm feeling now.

Just... wow.

Author's Response: This one was designed to hit with maximum awkwardness, so I think you just wrote the perfect review for this story. Tthanks for the feedback!

well I guess for you that can be considered a happy ending, so I'll give you that much...

I liked it, I actually did.  The only thing that came across a little cheesy to me was the whiskey thing.  I chuckled to myself at the image of Karen tossing her head back dramatically with a bottle.

But this was very interesting...I've always had that thought in the back of my mind of what might happen if Karen turned up pregnant post "the job"

Anyways, this is my favorite of yours so far...probably because it didn't make me want to throw things at you :)

Author's Response: Hey thanks for commenting.  I actually had a lot of trouble with the alcohol thing... I had to get her to say "I'm not preggers" without actually saying it, so I had to resort to a little dramatic cheese.  I agree it would be really interesting to say the least if she does end up pregnant.... thanks again, and not wanting to throw things... that's good too.

Holy Crap!  This is the most f**ked up "happy ending" ever.  I love how the intentions behind Karen's meanness turned out to be a very sick kind of noble, and the surprise at the end was priceless.  And not telling Jim, well that's f**ked up too: Jim will be happy, provided he never finds out, but at the same time he;ll never know his kid... Holy Crap!  I don't know how you come up with this stuff.  So what I mean to say is great story, I love it!

Author's Response: Hey thanks a lot for commenting.  I think you read it exactly as I had intended to write it... the queasiest, grayest "happy ending" imaginable.  thanks again.

Wow, you really just hate Pam don't you? lol. Seriously though, I always find your stories interesting because they offer a different perspective. I guess I'll just always believe that Pam didn't mean to attack Karen in the breakroom with her "non-apology". I think her new-found confidence just out ran her a little, but I never thought she was being purposely malicious. But I guess that's just the beauty of this show- we all see things so differently that it could never be boring. Seriously, though, good job.

Author's Response:

I certainly wouldn't say I hate her -- rather I would hate her if I were Karen.  I agree with you actually, she's genuinely quite kind and really an all around good person, just with some new confidence that she needs a bit of time to adjust to.  Plus, for the story, I needed Karen to be extra mad to try to set up the twist ending.  Thanks a lot for commenting.
