Author's Response: But Dwight was the hero in the end. I left it with a high note on him being the big cheese at the Sheriff's office. The thing about Dwight that I love is that through out all his idiocy, he really does strive to do the right thing, even if his methods and reasonology are a little warped. He loved Angela, but he couldn't sit back and let her get away with murder. He would probably get a lot of satisfaction from the fact that even though he lost the girl, he saved the day.

Oh, what a great ending! The person with the alibi turned out to be the killer. I loved the discovery and the potato gun part with Dwight was hilarious. Excellent mystery. Keep writing!

Oscar's and Kelly's reactions cracked me up, God. This was brilliant, I loved it and the suspense! Amazing. Kept me guessing 'till the end - and the end itself was marvelous. Angela can get kind of mean.
If you're going to write mystery again [and I implore you - please do!] I'd rather like to see Jim play a bigger part and be smarter and less defenseless, as silly as that sounds. :#

just can't believe she was able to take down such a large man.
Hee, I'll take that as a personal shoutout even if it isn't. Because man, I thought Karen was too small to have taken out Roy!
This was an excellent mystery and I did not expect the reveal. Did anyone guess Angela? Maybe thinking back to her being so supportive of Pam should've been a clue. Makes me want to reread everything to see all those allusions that I missed hte first go around.
I loved people's reactions in this chapter, especially Kelly's devolving into hair discussion. Just spot-on. I also liked Dwight's complete and utter dignity about all of it. Really just such a great story. I just wish we had had one conjugal visit ;)

Author's Response: I wondered if anyone out there would get the Charles Manson reference. You have to really know your psycho history for that. Saw that movie when I was a kid and it gave me nightmares! With Creed's murky past, he might even have been apart of Helter Skelter!
