Ack! I was ripping through your story - enjoying every minute of it - and then, wham, it stops! Please continue your efforts. This would a classic!
But I do have to thank you for the amazing work you've done so far.

This is an incredible story. The dialogue between Dwight and Jim is so spot-on it's like reading a script from the show. All your characterizations are like this.

I see you haven't updated for a bit...please tell me that you've not given up on this story. It is so funny and the Jim/Pam moments poignant.

I got caught up the story and laughed out loud so many times. The story is hilarious and your chapter titles are worth the price of admission.

Thanks for writing this story and sharing it with us.

My friends and I played RISK way too much in college, so I was so excited to see this story- and it's even better than I hoped! Great job! :)

Author's Response: Haha, well that's very nice of you, and I'm going to imagine that your hopes were low? I've always enjoyed playing RISK even though I am truly awful at it. Instead I just pretty much do what Jim does to Dwight to everyone else. Thanks for the review Classic Catch!

Seriously you write Jim and Dwight interaction so well you could be a writer on the show. ... Wait, - ARE you a writer on the show?? Just joking. Probably not.

Seriously though, I thought Dwight was going to say he wanted Karen to advise him for a minute there, and I got real nervous. I know that Pam, in a situation like that, wouldn't agree to be an advisor, but gee - that would be some crazy tension.

Can't wait for the next chapter. Cheers.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the kind review! I'm sorry that I haven't gotten back to you sooner, but I haven't had time until now to write responses to the reviews on my different stories. I really like writing Dwight/Jim interactions, its a whole lot of fun. And that's a good idea about the Karen twist, but hopefully the way I'm planning things will work out well too. Thanks again impish1.

How fast Can You Get Me a Beer is the preferred game of crappy boyfriends everywhere! :) Glad to see another chapter of this one!

Author's Response: Haha, I'm glad that you liked the games that crappy boyfriends make their girlfriends play. I had a couple more, but its a T-rated story, so I kept them to myself. Thanks for the review and kind words Crystalized.

oh I hope pam is coming back!  good story.

Author's Response: Don't worry, Pam will be back....she's just having a little Season 2-esque freakout about the collision of her feelings about Jim and the fact that hes in a relationship with Karen. But that won't stop her and Jim from interacting in upcoming chapters. Thanks for the kind words and review bloody awful poet.

How dorky am I to think that putting "Jedi" down for religion would be a really cool thing to do on a census?

Looking foward to more J/P interaction in the next chapter.  And I can't wait to find out the final results of this game! :)

Author's Response: I don't think that its dorky at all....I'm totally with you on that. And, you'll see more Jim/Pam interaction definitely, this is just to put some players in motion (specifically Dwight and Pam). And I know the game is dragging, but that is on purpose, and has a reason....you'll find out who wins. Thanks for the review EverybodyHurts, I appreciate your support for my story.

Dun-Dee! Dun-Dee! Dun-Dee! (ok, I was going to type that Dun-Die! but the whole Die! part was too freaky...)

This story is the height of awesomeness on MTT right now... thank you so much for bringing it back to life! I cannot WAIT to see how this comes to fruition... Verrrrrrry exciting! You go!

Author's Response: Haha, what a great review! I do feel bad about how long I left this hanging, but in the coming weeks I should have some time to work on it, so updates will be more frequent. Hopefully. In upcoming chapters we might see an increase in traffic in the break room, and some interesting discussion that might lead to some discoveries. But we'll see! Thanks for the review Stilla.

God, I love how he played by himself. Sooo Dwight. I love RISK, even though I always lose. This story is really good! Great job!

Author's Response: Tuna! Are you kidding me!? (sorry I couldn't help myself)....I'm glad that you liked the part about Dwight playing RISK by himself. Even though its a little self-indulgent, I found the idea of him sitting by himself on the farm examining his own moves on a RISK board funny. However, we may find out in upcoming chapters that someone else on the farm knows how to play as well. Thanks for the review Big Tuna.

This chapter was so well written I loved the leopard/bear debate and Jim and Pam's interaction was priceless. Everyone's character is spot on especially Andy haha.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you liked the leopard/bear debate...I was worried it might appear to be a little too silly or inane, but that was kind of what I was going for in the first place, so I left it be. I appreciate the kind words about the characterization, I do try to make everyone sound like they do on the show, to the extent that I'm able of course. Thanks for the review and reading JamLover101.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much, as I've probably mentioned in previous responses to reviews you've left for me, I'm a big fan, so its crazy hearing such nice things from you. I'm glad that you liked the leopard/bear debate...that came at 2am when I was trying to write something inane but funny for the chapter to start of with. Oh I adore this story! I'm so happy that there's a new update! And this was a particularly wonderful chapter. The way Jim and Pam are interacting, as well as Dwight and Pam, is just lovely. I loved the entire "Girl's Games" conversation. You are doing a beautiful job with this piece, I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: What a nice review! I'm glad that you liked the "Girl's Game" conversation. What I was trying to do it was start with the absurd like the first conversation about the bears, but then have it quickly become serious for Jim and Pam. So hopefully it was funny but also a little dramatic. Hopefully. Anyway, thank you for the review epiphilly.

As far as I'm concerned, you've mastered the "art" of Dwight as a plot device. Everyone is soo in character.

Also amazing - how you make a whole chapter out of an hour their time, story-wise. I just love workday fics.

Thank you so much for updating - I always watch for this story to be updated. It brightened my day ;-)

Author's Response: I'm really glad that you like the role Dwight plays in the story. He'll continue to be a plot device as both a foil for Jim, but also because he plays sort of an interesting bridge between Pam and Jim. This is set in mid-January (the long weekend is Martin Luther King Day) so, the events of "Back From Vacation" have happened. That will (hopefully) play a role in future chapters. Thanks for the review impish1.

It's stupid how much I'm enjoying this story! It's like a fresh breath of air, how different it is. You capture everyone's voice so well, especially Dwight's, and I'd imagine that's pretty hard to do. I hope more's on it's way ;-)

Author's Response: I'm glad that you like how different this story is. A bunch of people playing a board game is kind of a strange idea for a story, but hopefully you can see that it really isn't about the game at all. I'm a big fan of writing Dwight, and especially his interactions with Jim, so I'm glad that you liked that. Thanks for the review impish1.

Yay!  You updated.  I reread the whole thing to catch myself up.  Love how Jim is staying true to his nature and that he and Pam are starting to smile and joke again.  And that is very S4 of Pam to be spouting off strategy for Clue - I got a kick out of it.  Looking foward to more!

Author's Response:

I'm happy that you like what I'm doing with the Jim and Pam dynamic. This entire story is about bringing them together over something trivial (the game itself) through the elements which help to make them remember why they were friends in the first place (humor, competition, screwing with Dwight/Andy).

As for Pam's knowledge of RISK and her S4-esque strategy, you're completely right that was purposefully a little out of character for S3 Pam. I'm (hopefully) setting up a more independent Pam, but also a dynamic later in the story where she will be the most knowledgeable about the game itself. Thanks for the review, and support for the story EverybodyHurts.

YES!!! I am SO excited that you updated this!  And this chapter was great.  Good for Jim I say.  ;-)

Author's Response: Thank you so much Stablergirl! I'm sure I've told you before, but I'm a big fan of yours, so your support is really great. I'm glad that you liked this chapter and Jim's behavior. It wasn't my intention to make Karen a bad person or terrible or anything like that, but rather to just see her as different then Jim (ambition and office philosophy-wise). Thanks for the review!

So... I was rereading this story, remembering how much I enjoyed it and thought I'd point out the lack of recent updates. Any chance of another chapter?

Author's Response: Sorry about taking so long to respond to your review, I don't have them linked to email, so I just missed yours. Thanks so much for your interest in my story, and your kind words I appreciate them both. Great Job this story is really picking up steam!  I'm enjoying it very much!

Author's Response: I'm glad you agree, that was what I was going for. With Pam/Dwight/Jim in the room and with various other members of the office drifting in and out, things can happen more dramatically and quickly. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and thank you for the review batman29.

What is the distubance, I'm intrigued.  Oh, and by the way, if Dwight rolled a 5,3 and Jim rolled a 6,5,1 then Dwight would lose 2 armies.  They wouldn't split.  Man I'm a nerd.

Author's Response: My mistake, thank you for pointing that out. I fixed it and re-posted. I'm not sure knowing that makes you a nerd though...now, writing an Office fic based around RISK...well.....Thanks for the review blueterfbronco.

Just read this and I'm really enjoying it.  You are doing a great job with everyone's voices and I'm just giggling at all the Jim/Dwight conversation.  Very in-character.

And I never played RISK, but you're explaining it so well that I feel I have a pretty good handle on the rules.  So good job!

Looking foward to more.

Author's Response: I'm glad that the RISK directions aren't too confusing. I knew when I started this I really limited my readership by making it the hub of the activity of the story, but if you're never played it and still enjoyed it, then maybe there is hope. I try to make the voices in character as much as possible, or at least the manner in which they say things to stay in character. This is a very dialogue heavy story, so I'm glad its worked so far for you. Thank you for your review EverybodyHurts.

Is it possible to be driven to the edge of my seat over reading about a game of Risk?  Apparently it is.  I'm having way too much fun reading this.

I really like the way that you are telling this from Jim's POV.  It's not overly mushy, but still slightly sentimental.  And I love how it's not completely centered around Pam.  (Not that I don't love the stories from Jim's POV that do revolve around Pam, but this is a very nice change of pace.)

Oh and one other thing, though not completely.  This is totally taking me back to HS when I worked on our school newspaper (I was the Ad Manager) and we would waste away hour lunches and breaks in the newspaper office playing RISK with each other off the networked computers.  I'm totally missing that right now.  *sniff*  I think I need to run to Toys'R'Us and pick up a board game.

Author's Response: Yeah, it is definitely a challenge to make a board game dramatic, but I'm trying. Of course, it's just a way to get Jim/Dwight, Dwight/Andy, and Jim/Pam interaction really. Yeah the Jim/Pam dynamic will become more apparent in upcoming chapters, but I'm not trying to make it overly mushy. The most angsty chapter was actually Pam's POV. Still, expect more Jim/Dwight, and maybe some Michael/Jim soon. Thank you for the review, BlueJeanBaby.

This is a great story! Reminds me of a friend's father's opinion of Risk-- "He who controls Europe controls the world!"

Love the characterization

Author's Response: For the sake of the world I hope that you're wrong, because Andy controls Europe. Jim's in a bit of a hole, but who knows what will happen next (well I sort of do). I appreciate the words on characterization, I'm trying to make their voices fairly realistic, while giving them some room to incorporate the game and the situation. Thanks for the review Elvish.
