This was a great line, as was "If there wasn’t a happy ending somewhere past all the destruction, she didn’t know what she would do." I think you described her break-up with Roy and her refusal to call Jim perfectly.

That was beautifully written and totally believable. Heavy stuff! Through your story, I can see why Pam didn't call Jim right away. So tragic that she didn't call him later though. Could have saved them both a lot of heartache, but then...we wouldn't have had S3! Great job!

she hated the fact that she apparently had the ability to break the heart of every man that had ever meant anything to her. I love this line...Pam, soft hearted and compassionate as she is, must have just been haunted by the pain she probably felt she caused through that summer.
