This is OUTSTANDING!  You did a great job with this dialog only chapter.  Impossible to pick a favorite line – it's all so good!

Author's Response: *blush*  Thank you so much!  It was very fun to write because I basically had to imagine being in bed with Jim after we, uh, you know.  It was a chore, I'll admit, but it's just a small sacrifice to bring happiness to others.  :)

This is everything JAM pillow-talk should be: flirty, funny, intimate, sexy and most of all - oozing deep history and friendship. Love how you subtly let us know how they're touching (playing with her hair, squeezing her, his arm being asleep, etc.) Very, very nice.

Author's Response: I'm so glad their actions were evident - I was so worried about that and I was tempted to add narrative to make it really clear.  Your reviews are always a great boost, Colette.  I so appreciate it.

Now THAT was comfort food!  Happy, sappy, mushy, gushy JAM!  Keep bringin' it!

Author's Response: Ha!  It's so much easier to be silly and mushy in the dark.  I love to think of them at this stage of their relationship.  Thanks, Abigail!

This worked beautifully, sweetpea.  The flirty banter, the movie teasing, the 'best days', the way they just touch on some of the more serious stuff.

Dundie for sexiest line goes to this: “Hey, my tongue’s been pretty much all over you, Halpert!  Now you have a problem with me licking your face?”

The 'awww' Dundie goes to this: “Because I’m so happy we can talk to each other now.”

Nicely done, SP!

Author's Response: I'm so glad this worked and I'm so glad you liked it, lisahoo.  Thank you for all your nice comments.

Wow...you really set a mood there with Pam doing her girly thing...I was lulled into a false sense of isolation and then BAM! Jim walks in - I was not expecting that <Pam>. Loved it though! These two are just too funny....."also whorish....well that goes without saying." ROFL

Author's Response:

Ha!  I thought about whether or not Pam would have a "beauty night" for herself and I don't know if she would - but Fancy New Beesly definitely would.  Because Jim loves her kissable face.  Glad you liked it, LoveFool.

“Your face!  It looks completely soft and kissable!”

“I’m sorry.  Did you want something?  I’m very busy.”

Those lines both cracked me up. Love teasing, sly/goofy-sexy-as-hell Jim. I could perfectly imagine this moment from your descriptions...in-character heat (which is hard to pull off.) Just adorable.

Author's Response:

Love teasing, sly/goofy-sexy-as-hell Jim.

God, so do I!  And if we only get a tiny, tiny glimpse of him like this, I will be thrilled.  Thank you so much, Colette.

Ah, the mysteries of the opposite sex...

"go watch some sports thing and scratch for awhile" -- HA!  I think Pam's been in the man thread.

"Are you going to peel that whole thing off and turn into someone completely different?"   Yup, that sounds like Jim, alright.  Typical guy, baffled by the feminine mystique...  and also a terrible tease.  Like painful.

Author's Response: But it's a good kind of pain, isn't it?  I think Jim is more in touch with his feminine side than most guys, but he's still clueless about some stuff.  I love reading your reviews, lisahoo.

This made me think of my favourite Etta James song, I want a Sunday kind of love.  What a perfect way to spend time with the one you love.  Thanks Sweetpea

Author's Response: Wow!  jinx, that's pretty amazing because while I was writing this, that song popped into my head.  It's one of my all-time favorites.  I have the Etta James version, but I'm partial to Dinah Washington's version.  My mother played it endlessly when I was a little girl and when I saw "What a Diff'rence a Day Makes!" on CD, I bought it immediately.  So, JINX!  And thank you for reviewing.

I really like your take on these little snippets of their lives (and their combined <i>life</i>, which is really the point). Excellent work!

Author's Response: Thank you!  This is really my first attempt and I haven't written creatively in years, so it's felt great to grease the wheels again.

That was too precious. i heart drunk Pam. and taking-care-of-her Jim is even better. also, this song reference is wonderfully hilarious :)

Author's Response:

You know, when this song came into my earphones, I was all "Oh, great!  What the hell am I going to do with that??"  I'm committed to working through all of them, though, so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Can I tell you how much I love Couple!Jam?  They are are adorable!  I think Pam doing the bra trick would make Kevin's head explode.

Oh my, this is one of the best JAM scenes I've ever read.

He makes his way to her ear and he whispers, “I love you.  Every day.”

This last line just about made me pass out.  You write Jim and Pam beautifully and realistically.  Great story!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  Can you imagine that gravelly voice in your ear?  Yeah, I knew you could.

Oh I loved this! Of course Pam takes her bra off in front of KEVIN of all people! lol. I love Jim and Pam "morning afters" and this was cute in an entirely different way!

Author's Response: Poor hungover Pam!  You know Jim wouldn't be able to resist messing with her, but he'd still rub her feet.  Thanks for the review, LoveFool!

"He had no idea what he was driving toward, but he knew what he was leaving behind."  What a beautiful line.

Author's Response:

This is one of the big story gaps that I wish we could have seen a little of - Jim leaving Scranton.  I hated to stop the fluff train for an angst pit stop, but that song is full of angst, so.  kaystar, thank you for the reviews.

Love, love, loved this chapter!  So romantic.

Author's Response: kaystar, thank you for the reviews.  If we get to see just a tiny snip of their everyday life this season, I'll be over the moon.  It's the little stuff.

So funny and so sweet. It reminded me - when we were young and poor newlyweds we made spaghetti from a Kraft package. We didn't have a colander so he drained the water off the spaghetti by tilting the lid on the pot so the water would go down the drain. And it did, and to our horror, so did the spaghetti!  So we dipped our bread in the sauce and bought a colander the next day.

Author's Response:

Awww, how sweet!  It's amazing how glowy those kind of memories become with time, isn't it?  My real-life version of this story was a camping trip where everything went wrong.  We pitched our tent in some pine trees and left to get firewood.  When we came back, an entire Boy Scout troop had set up around us.  We'd planned to catch whatever we caught fishing, but the lake had been sprayed the day before and there were hundreds of dead fish floating on top.  We ran into town to get a big steak that, just like Jim's, was spoiled.  Thank God for beer and potatoes!

Thank you so much for the reviews!

"She looks at the front door and he’s still standing there, watching her, with an exaggerated pout on his face, shoulders slumped, trying his best to looks as pitiful as possible."  Awesome chapter. I love their inability to keep their hands (and/or other body parts) off each other!

These are all so awesome, SweetPea - I can't even give you a favourite because they just capture some wonderful moments.  Even the angsty ones, though of course the happier ones make me grin like an idiot!  I really look forward to more from you!  :D

Author's Response: Moxie, what a compliment.  Like probably many, many others, Squirrel was the first fanfic I ever read and it completely altered my opinion of what it was and what it could be.  Thank you so much.
