OMG, this chapter has solidified this story as the best JAM songfic ever.  I'm just beaming as I read each one :)  Fantastic dialogue...great songs...realistic settings.  Guh.  So good.

Author's Response: secondrink!  So much fun to read this after it's been sleeping for awhile!  And what a great compliment!  When I started writing this, I was so new to the whole fandom and fanfic thing that I didn't even know there was a genre of stories called "songfic" so I'm especially thrilled with your comment.  Thank you so much!

i just found this and i'm so glad i have! it's perfect, especially the last chapter. it made me smile and it's just so THEM :]

Author's Response: Sunday, how fun it is to read this after this much time!  These two...they are just a blast to write and I had a ton of fun writing each one of these.  The last chapter...it's so special to me because it's one of the first times that things just seem to come to me and it was so emotional writing it.  This fic was the first bit of extensive writing I'd done in years, so when I was winding it up, I cried through nearly the whole thing!  Thank you so much for your kind words!!

This has just become my new all-time favorite JAM fic. xoxoxo

Author's Response: How sweet, PB!!  Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this, but it really is such a kick to see a review for this story because it was so much fun to write these lttle vignettes.  I'm so glad you liked it and favorite?  Wow, that's saying something!!  Thanks so much for telling me!!

A beautiful end to a brillaint story. Thanks for a great read!

Author's Response: I can't believe you did all this.  It means so much to me that you left a review for each chapter, shootingstars.  Great fun for me to go back and think about each chapter, too.  Looking forward to reading more from you, as well.  Thank you so much!

A very believable look at what their first fight could have been over. Excellent.

Author's Response:

We had some spoilers and a lot of speculation about a fight between Jim and Pam and this was borne out of those discussions.  This just scratched an itch for me, wondering what they might fight about.

Oh they're even teasing when they talk about sex. Of course :)

Author's Response: Hee!  Well, I'm sure the sex is hot, but I also thinks it's fun!  These are just fictional characters, these are just fictional characters....but they're really FUN fictional characters!

oh. my. god. its so good i'm using grammatically incorrect full stops. This is beautiful and sweet and so brilliantly Jim/Pam. I love that you got down to what is essentially the base of their relationship for me: they're just best friends and they make each other laugh. Wonderful.

Author's Response: I'm so touched by these reviews, shootingstars!  This one kind of came out of nowhere and I was really pleased with the end result and I'm so glad you were, too.

A departure yes, but a nice one. I love the meandering nature of this story, every chapter is so different and yet it still feels like one large narrative at the centre. Your description of Jim's thoughts about his job just screams s4-Jim to me. Spot on.

Author's Response: It's funny how Jim's soul-searching turned out, isn't it?  I think if Pam weren't pursuing her own dreams, he might be more content, but FNB has him thinking.  I'm glad you think there was a center to this, because I didn't consciously do that, but I think the essence of their relationship ties it all together.  Thank you so much, shootingstars.

This is brilliant. Again I could see this scene so clearly which is amazing considering the chap is all dialogue. Brilliantly in character.

Author's Response: Well, I hope we've all had these moments, very late at night, after the sexage, when you just ramble all over the place with your partner, so I thought most readers would be able to relate to it pretty well.  Thank you so much for the sweet words...I'm enjoying these all over again!

Making it out to the car is overrated if you ask me ;)

Author's Response: HA!  Me too!  I'm tucking my road trip story in my back pocket to do another time, but this was a fun substitute to write.

*sigh* seriously this story is just brilliant. I don't know how you do it but I can imagine these little scenes so vividly. Wonderful.

Author's Response: I love the idea of Pam letting loose in her own home with Jim at her side, hosting a great party and getting a little tanked in the process.  Jim would have fun with that, too, I think!  Thank you so much for doing this!

Lovely. Feels even lovelier after the angst of the last couple of chapters.

Author's Response: This one was maybe the most fun to write for me and we definitely needed a lift after the angst.  Thank you so much!

And now it's all "Oh Pam".
This was a lovely little insight into that note.

Author's Response: The note kind of came out of nowhere, so I always wondered how Pam got the idea to do it.  I can't thank you enough for going back and reading all of these, shootingstars!  And so sweet to leave reviews - I really appreciate it.

Again... "Oh, Jim."
This was painful to read and so perfectly described post-Casino night Jim. Poor thing :(

Author's Response: Funny, this one was one of the easier ones to write for me.  I'm a little too well-acquainted with how he must have been feeling.   A little easier to take now that we know how it all turns out, though, eh?

aww this chapter was so sweet. Made me want to curl up in bed (preferably with my Jim Halpert clone whenever that arrives...) and read the paper. Beautiful!

Author's Response:

I would so love a Halpert in my bed every Sunday morning, too, and writing this was like a little wish fulfillment.  Thank you!

He’s lifting the salad bowl out of the refrigerator when the lip of the bowl catches on the shelf and as he tries to prevent it from falling, he actually tosses the bowl up, into his chest and watches the entire salad toss itself down the front of his sweater, his jeans, with a few croutons settling between his toes.

This can’t be happening. He’s a good person. Loves his mother. Is kind to animals and old people. Why?

So brilliantly expressed I could practically see it happening before me eyes. Made me say my signature Office comment ("Oh Jim") out loud, and not a lot of fic does that. Brilliant :) must keep reading ....

Author's Response: Okay, Jim's embarrassment is nothing compared to mine, shootingstars.  There was a discussion on the boards recently about reviews and responses, and I realized that I had missed some of these and never responded, and for that, I sincerely apologize.  I've enjoyed your writing so much, so what a great pleasure it was to read this!  I had so much fun writing these vignettes that I think I might return to them very soon.  Thank you so much for this!  (Never too late to say thank you, right?)

Aaaaaaugh.  This has reduced me to nonsense syllables.  I love it.  It's so human and so touching.  Gah.  (See, there it is again!)  I love, love, love this line:

He likes to kiss you when the car is going through the car wash.

I never thought car washes were romantic before, but I may have to change my tune.  And:

When she comes out of the bedroom Saturday morning wearing lounge pants with the biggest, wildest floral print you've ever seen, and you frown at her, she says, 'Like 'em? These pants are lookin' for a party, Halpert.'

They really do bring out the ridiculousness in each other.  I love it. :)

Author's Response:

Hee!!  The pants were a little slice from my own true love.  I bought these crazy pants when we were hosting a huge outdoor party because I thought they would be fun...but they were really pretty heinous.  I don't think there was a single color missing and they were loose and kind of billowy and were forever known as the partypants after that.  Pretty soon, "partypants" turned into a state of mind..."let's get our partypants on and have some fun!"  I asked myself if Pam would have some partypants and I think she would.  I think she would have found them on the clearance rack at Marshall's or TJ Maxx just like I did, and think they would be fun to wear around the house and when she was painting.  And god knows, she could spill a whole palette of paint on them and you'd probably never notice!  I'm so glad you liked this and thank you so much for the sweet review!

This is probably the best JAM piece I've ever read b/c it transcends JAM. Definitely the best chapter in this series. So great how you rambled thru all the aspects of their lives. You know what? It is damn inspiring. I really love my husband and he is my best friend. Now I want to come up with a paragraph about how & what he is to me. It'll be like when we wrote our wedding vows together. Thanks for making me feel the LOVE!!!

Author's Response:

Wheee!!!  Spreading JAM all over the place!  Thank you so much for the wonderful review, support_the_rabid and you should definitely write that paragraph.  In fact, make it a full-length letter.  If you're lucky enough to have that kind of love, you just can't give it too much attention.  And you know what's inspiring?  After the first review you left for me, you left a few more on some older things I'd written and I was so chuffed!  That's just what I did when I started reading here...found something I really liked and went and read everything that author had written.  So, thank you, and I'll see you next time, I hope

Sigh.  That's all I have to say.  Besides the fact that I'm upset that this is over.  You'd better have something up your sleeve, missy.  Even if it's Jim and Pam having hot sex after walking the picket line during the Dunder-Mifflin Scranton strike against Corporate.  Because seriously, we will need some stories to get through this after Thursday.

Author's Response:

Sigh.  I love your reviews, EH, especially when you threaten me to write more!  It's like this hack's dream come true!  Hot picket line sex, you say...hmmm.....I do have a little something up my sleeve, so we'll be doing this again, soon, I hope.  I can't thank you enough for all the kind words and encouragement.
