OK, so first, wow.  I've read this chapter about 5 times already, so just again, wow.  You keep doing what seems right, cause it is definitely working... :)

Their lack of ability to communicate to each other is painful, but realistic for these two. I love the last line, because it's so true. Each of them sort of blames the other for how things are. I don't know if "blame" is the right word. But Jim thinks Pam doesn't have feelings for him or won't have feelings for him because she never called him after she broke off her engagement, and Pam basically thinks the same thing of Jim because Jim left. I'm glad she finally was able to communicate that to him- that he never gave her a chance because he left- as he was leaving her room- give him something to think about. Hehe. Looking forward to more!

Snap. I know that you said that you didn't like it. But I did. Great job.

:( Well-written angst, but it still makes me sad. Great job, though! :(

Oh fine, just ratchet up the tension!!

But seriously -- love the detail about Pam looking at Jim's nose because his eyes and his lips will be her undoing.

So yeah, I trust you to take this story wherever it needs to go.  Hopefully, it's back to Jim's hotel room, if Pam's is cursed...

That was really powerful (as well as hot)! They are still talking at cross purposes, but I hope that they will realize it soon. I can't wait for the next part!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review. I always get nervous posting "smut" because I'm not sure if it will come across like I want it to. Thanks again for your kind words.

I hope this means that chapter 6 is in the hopper.

This was great: "He realizes he has to stop when images of both Ben Franklin and an exposed Pam flash in front of his eyes at the same time."  Great callback to the creepiness of the Ben Franklin/stripper mixup.  "Ben Franklin?  Kind of a creep...."

And Jam!Smut is good for the country.

Author's Response:

It's in the hopper...and will get done soon (I hope).  I really wanted to throw in as many shoutouts to the real season 3 as I could.

You comment about Jam!Smut reminds me of the song from Grease 2 (which I am ashamed to admit I've seen more than 5 times) called: "Let's Do It For Our Country"

Thanks again!

Nope not small at all - and more than that, I'm on the edge of my seat for the next chapter!

Awesome angst + history lesson - you are a girl after my own heart!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I thought it was only fair since I wrote part of it during an incredibly boring and pointless Social Studies Department meeting. Thanks again for your review.

Aaahhhh, such a good chapter! With Jim's whole conversation through his eyes, and Jan telling Pam her and Jim would be cute together... wow.

And ooohhh, the progress and then the million steps back again when Jim finds out about the blind date! Gaaahh! Can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

Glad you liked the chapter. I love how Krasinski managed to have Jim say so much with just his eyes and wanted to pay homage to that. Thanks for your review!

I am really enjoying this story!  I just want to lock them in one of those hotel rooms and let them hash it out!

Great job and looking forward to more.

Author's Response: oooh!!!! Getting locked in is a great idea! Thanks for your review.

I LOVE the build-up you're creating here. We all know it's only a matter of time before, well, the inevitable! Update soon please! Love your writing.

Author's Response: Thanks for being patient with the buildup...and liking it! Thanks so much for your review.

Hadn't had a chance to read this before today - I really love it.  I'm so looking forward to more.  :-)  (and Pam's dress - soooooo cute! Hope it ends up on the floor of Jim's hotel room before this is all over.  Oops - did I say that out loud??)

Good work, kiddo!!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your review. I'm in two minds about the dress. Part of me thinks that the fact that it has so many buttons down the front would make it an excellent candidate to be ripped off of Pam. The other part, though, wants Pam to be able to wear her pretty new dress again. Choices...choices.

Thanks again for the review! Glad you like it!

oh no, Pam!  that damn date!  She and Jim are cute together.  She really should just jump him!

Author's Response: Things would be so much easier if she would! Thanks for the review!

Ooh, thank you for updating again so soon - and I'm just selfish enough to beg you to continue the trend.  :)

Author's Response: I'm going to give it a try. If not, please be patient with me. The next chapter is a doozie.

It’s familiar and foreign all at the same time and she hates herself because her first instinct isn’t to run.

I'm still loving this. I can't wait for more!!! -CH

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your review. And I'm so glad you like that line. That's one that I actually went back and revised. Initially it read that her first instinct was to run. Something didn't seem right and I'm glad I changed it. Thanks again for your kind words!

I am really enjoying the alternate season 3.  It's cutting to the chase, isn't it?  Looking forward to more chapters. :)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much MA. Now you've got me thinking that I should carry this further into season 3 than I originally intended. Hmm.....

Thanks again for your review.

:(

Do we get any cheer next chapter?  Pleeeeease?  Or maybe a huge fight that leads to sex up against a wall.  Either way.  ;)

Author's Response: Have you been reading my outline? I'm getting there...but there's a little more angst to go.

Oh, Miss Pam... breaking out the big guns.  Looking good is the best revenge.

Author's Response: Thanks for reminding me of that saying, lisahoo. I went with it in the next chapter. Thanks again!
