Awww. That was the greatest thing ever. I mean, I love it. It was sweet and goofy and funny and...just awesome. GREAT WORK!!! (And thanks for suggesting some good computer-based stories for me. This one is definitely in my top 5 ;))

Author's Response:

Top 5!  WHOOO!  Best Dundies everrrrrr! ;)  I'm glad you liked this so much.

I wrote it last summer, before we ever had any hint that they would actually go to the beet farm.  As a matter of fact, I put some points in here just to try to explain under what circumstances Jim would voluntarily stay with Dwight; it seemed ridiculous!  I had already posted it and then we began seeing pictures for Money, where both Jim and Pam voluntarily stayed on the beet farm and paid to do so!  Crazy.

It was fun to write, and the email format is actually kind of an easy format to write in -- I didn't have to explain where someone was sitting, or how they looked, or anything like that, and I could even refer to conversations and events the reader didn't see.  It's like a shortcut. ;)

This probably is one of my more popular stories, not necessarily by the number of reviews, but by the little buzz it created at the time.  My stories don't usually get a lot of buzz.  The other stories I suggested are good ones, too.  Don't drink anything when you're reading Swedge's DCMP; you'll ruin your keyboard from laughing.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, crazysadie!  I really appreciate it! :)

Enter me squealing: THEY ARE GOING TO HAVE A HOUSE, WITH LITTLE BABY HALPERTS RUNNING AROUND!!!!

I'm so proud of Pam and her awesomeness. Off to read more!!!!!

Author's Response:

In some of my other stories (some of the "Holiday" series), there are little Halperts running around! Also little Schrutes.  But they aren't computer-based stories.

I'm glad you like Pam here; I'm assuming "her awesomeness" might mean her tough approach to Michael.  It was fun to write that.

Phyllis' flowers were the same as Pam's, which were the ones Roy gave to her at her prooom! Remember? Roy's all "I know I don't normally notice these things, but..."

Jim, you must be more steadfast!

( But holy halpert, I love this story. Angela's brisk walks...you slay me xD )

Author's Response:

Hah!  Pam sets him straight eventually. ;)

Thanks for reading and reviewing, gamesetmatch!  BeetMail is one I actually wrote and posted last summer, just slightly before we started getting spoilers/pictures from Money.  It was pretty funny to write this seemingly far-fetched story (after all, why would Jim voluntarily spend time on the Beet Farm) turn into something close to canon.

Thanks for reading and reviewing, gamesetmatch!  You're making your way through some of my stories, I see.  Cool. :)

"Mose sat thisclose to me."

*snort* Was dying at this line! But then, I continued reading to find:

"...Mose is no Mutie the Mailman"

Died even harder at this. This is great, Kev! Once again, I'm attempting to secretly read a fic at work and failing miserably due to the stupid grin on my face.

Very excited to read the rest of the chapters, but wanted to stop and tell you how much I was loving all of your Mose references. Hee!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, tessa mae!  I hope you like the rest of it.  Mose is way too much fun to write, actually.  We can do just about anything with him!

Thanks for reading and reviewing!  (But sorry for the whole 'making you die' thing.  Dying's not cool, right?)

Thank you Kev.  Super entertaining way to pass the hours until Fun Run.  You rock!

Author's Response:

Thank you.  You rock for reviewing!

I'm so glad you liked it! It was (mostly) fun to write, and it's certainly fun to put words on the characters' computer screens!  Only a few hours now - running down the clock! ;)

"You and Dwight are idiots": Best email subject line!  I love your Michael voice.  But actually the whole story was great.  It was really fun to read it all in email format.  Good job! :)

Author's Response:

That email subject started out as "Dwight is an idiot," but I realized that Michael wouldn't pass up an opportunity to insult Toby.  The nice thing about writing in emails is you have a little bit of leeway with the voices, I think.  We often write just a bit differently than we speak, so if something isn't a great fit with a character, I can fall back on that.  ;)  I'm glad you think I got Michael down, though!  I enjoy writing Angela, actually.  Writing in voice that's judgmental and socially underdeveloped can be fun.

I'm glad you liked this!  Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, MA!

So good, so funny!  Mount Janaminjaro?  Oh my God!  Nice, nice job with this story.

Author's Response:

I'm so glad you liked it, Sweetpea!  It was a fun story to write (mostly) and I was really glad to get it done before the premiere.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

"Delete this email and empty trash." I loved that! Great job with this whole piece and glad you published it all before the premiere!

Author's Response:

I think Dwight and Angela have been placing that phrase on every email to each other since Email Surveillance.  You never know when Michael will be watching the email, right?

It is really nice to finish this off before we rush into 4 one-hour shows!  I'm glad you liked it.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

hehe.  I love this.  How creepy would it be to have to spend the night (or several) at the beet farm?  Ew.  However it makes for some funny stuff.  This story is made of awesome!  Whittle some more as soon as you can, okay?

Author's Response:

I'd especially dislike having to use the bathroom under the front porch...strange!  I should have the last chapter posted before the season premiere.   I'm glad you like the story!

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, kells!

HA!  Poor Dwangela -- with a Michael refugee!  Glad I wasn't drinking anything -- this would have made me do a spit-take:

Subject: Stating the obvious
From: JHalpert@DunderMifflin.com
We need a bigger car
.

Don't you know it, baby!

Author's Response:

Again, nothing was said about what happened in that car.  It's merely you thinking what you want to think (inferring, as Creed would say).  So...what exactly did you infer? ;)  I think if Pam got an email like that, she'd very quickly remind Jim how she felt.  I actually had more fun with his email about the wedding than the car bit.  If Jim let loose about how he felt about that wedding, well...look out!  (That I'd love to see.)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, lisahoo!  (You really should consider another story sometime.  I know you said you thought it was difficult, but you did a good job!  Or...you could just retain your place as goddess of photoshop.  You know, as if goddess is a high enough achievement. ;) )

Indigo Girls!  Oh, Michael!  I just love these.  All the pairings are great, but I really love the restrained hostility between Pam and Angela.

We need a bigger car.

Yay!! Parking Lot of Looooove!!!!

Author's Response:

"Yay!! Parking Lot of Looooove!!!!"  I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about.  Jim and Pam were in the back seat of the car playing Boggle.  Jim just has long legs and he found it difficult.  If you're read anything else into this, perhaps you've taken the slow train from Philly a few too many times.

SHUT UP, ANGELA! Sorry.  That party planning bee-yotch has been taking over my typing fingers every once in a while.  It's scary!  I'm back now.

I'm so glad you got that 'Indigo Girls!' was a Michael mistake and not a Kev mistake. Kev knows Go Gos.  Phew.

I'm having fun with restrained hostility in general with this.  And Angela is just hands-down fun to write.  I'm getting so excited for new episodes with all these crazy folks--I've missed them!

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Sweetpea!

Yay for re-writing! You're right, this is WAY better than the first version. I especially loved all the Dwight and Angela stuff. And Michael. And even the little bit of Kelly. Congratulations on a very funny chapter! ;)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, Azlin! I'm not sure what it means that I find it easy to come up with Angela's emails...probably nothing good!  The final chapter will come your way in a day or two...

Thanks so much for beta-ing and reviewing!!

You added a bunch of things I hadn't seem before. Beardy! How surprised I was when he was thrown into the mix in a subtle way. Good job, fun story.

Author's Response:

Our good friend Bob Eardy.  Won't it be fun if Beardy's name really turns out to be Bob Eardy?  Or maybe Brandon Eardy, so his email can be BEardy.  We can only hope.

Thanks for reading a time or two, Swedge, and for reviewing! ;)

Aw, Dwight going hungry?!?  That is sad....

Author's Response:

All Dwight needs to do is show up at the right place and the right time and be himself.  Those other potential tenants would go running, wouldn't they?  And that would mean good news for Angela, which would mean...refreshments!  (Never underestimate Dwight's power to weird people out.)

Thanks for reading and reviewing, lisahoo!

Too late Kev, you've got a real talent for writing dialogue with humour.  You know these characters well.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, jinx.  I'm trying to get the characters right.  I'm glad to know you think I'm succeeding.  (I'm not always too sure about it, myself!)

This is so...great!  </Jim>  The subject lines made me laugh out loud and Angela's "I like your sweater..." is hysterical.

Favorite bit:

If you decide not to marry me, I think I have a really good chance with Mose, but I'll have to move to Massachusetts to make an honest man of him. Just so you know, it's in the same time zone... :-)

More!

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you so much!  I love hearing people's favorite parts!  Being nice doesn't come naturally for Angela.  It's like her 'nice' muscle has atrophied.  I think that's part of the reason she's such a fun character to watch, and to write, also.

I liked that Mose part, too!  I may have had too much fun writing that part.  (Oooh, spin-off fic...!  Maybe a Bad!Fic - "Jim in Mose-achusetts")

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing.

Love how you've added Mose to the mix.  Hilariously creepy Kev.

Author's Response:

How could one even talk about the beet farm without talking about Mose?  From what we've seen on the show (which isn't much), Mose would be way easier to work with or live with than Dwight!  I'm glad you're liking it.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, jinx!

I was laughing out loud the whole time I read this.  All the characters are just excellent.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, Vampiric Blood!  I was trying to get the characters okay, and I think it makes it a little bit easier when they're writing - we don't have any of their writing in canon to compare to!  So I probably gave myself a slightly easier job at it.

I'm glad you're liking it.  There will be 3 more chapters...

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

it is SO horrible that Mose is pretending to have a crush on Jim so he'll move out. but I guess Jim kind of deserves it. I mean i still can't figure out how he convinced Dwight to let him live with him, even for a short time. I love this though. Michael is so easily manipulated and Angela being nice is just plain weird! it's good though.

Author's Response:

Well, Dwight's letting Jim stay because Jim "only reported a quarter of his disadulations to Corporate" and also it's beet-picking season.  Basically, Dwight's getting some labor out of Jim at night. There's only a certain amount of time to get the crop in (I actually researched that, because I'm a dork.)  And yes, it's stretching it that this would happen, but I couldn't have any fun with Beet jokes and weird Schrute behavior if it didn't!

As for Mose -- what do you mean pretending? ;-)

I absolutely love this so far! Angela's "nice" emails crack me up and I'm totally digging the Jim/Pam dynamic as well. Can't wait to see Dwight's plan!

Author's Response:

Thank you, JennInTheCity!  Hopefully you'll keep loving it - I'll do my best!  I love how Angela really doesn't know how to be nice, even when she's sort of trying.  What a wonderful character she is.  I'm glad you like the Jim and Pam.

Dwight's plan may be really really excellent only to Dwight.  Let's keep that in mind!  He thinks he's brilliant, and sometimes he's...not.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Dear TLK:

This is a clever story. Poor Jim staying at the beet farm!  And I hear ya, Pam, about not wanting to repeat past mistakes.

I am so looking forward to the relationship between Dwangela & Jam this season.

P.S. Delete this review and empty trash.

Author's Response:

Thanks lisahoo.  Pam may figure out a way to 'have it all' - who knows?

I'm also looking forward to the JAM/Dwangela dynamic.  Not too far away now.

And I see you've figured out what people write when they want their correspondence not to be seen by prying eyes.  (Could TLK and lisahoo be having a heterosexual affair? (No, Michael!)

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

P.S. Delete this response and empty trash.

Thanks kgreene.  That Michael is like a kid, isn't he?  He needs very specific rules and boundaries.  And maybe one of those electric collars to keep him inside his boundaries. ;)

OMG, Jim held hostage at the beet farm -- too funny.  They need to just give in and acknowledge that they are secretly friends.

FNB in da house, er office!!!  Very crafty.  And a bit disturbing on what Michael would come up with.  Eww.

Author's Response:

To be fair to Michael, in my story, he read it in Maxim.  And you know how susceptible to suggestion he is.  If you haven't yet, read the response to the first review to see where that really came from.

OMG, Dwight's kind of Jim's friend!!!
