Okay, this story is kicking my ass. I had to get up and leave the room...and then come back in, come out of lurkerdom and register, becasue this is just so good.
The only thing that made season 3 events halfway bearable was the thought that J and P didn't know what kind of hurt they were inflicting.. but now you're taking that away with this last chapter. Now we'll read Phyllis' wedding like they KNEW and that just kills me! In a good way. This story has just moved out of the "fun take on the situation" category and moved into the "causes you to see things differently" category. Good Job!

Wow. I'm hooked, but I can't conceive of how Phyllis' Wedding can end the same way as it did now. Something has to happen to make this AU, otherwise Jim just comes off as a big jerk.
Though, I suppose that could be an explanation of why Pam goes with Roy. I just feel crappy about it. And I think that this convo is Pam's Beach Games moment put in IM form. For Jim not to act now, it seems like he just used Pam.

Wow. Only Pam and Jim would be able to do this, pretending to be not themselves knowing they are but being unwilling to face it even when they desperately want it...what a mess. It's the kind of thing I never would have thought of, but you pull it off so well.
The second time I read this chapter it made me cry.
PLEASE tell me you're going AU with this story. So far it's conceivable that this isn't AU, and, oh my god, if you're going to make Jim not break up with Karen for THE REST OF THE SEASON? I can't take it. I just can't.
