I love your "past" stories. The way you bring in little details to better explain current events is wonderful. I love the glimpse at Phyllis' first day and Jan's aspirations. Plus, the Toby/Michael animosity is well crafted. Love, love, love the story!

It is so much fun to read a backstory. I have always had a soft spot for Michael so I really enjoyed this. I could see that not getting the girl would make Michael even more insecure than he already is.

Oh my! This was so good, I've always had a soft spot for Michael, because to me he was always just this intensly lonely man who was unable to relate to others, though yeah he is a dick sometimes. But this story was wonderful, I didn't put the Liz thing together until about three-quarters in, but this would be an excellent reason for Michael's clear loathing towards Toby. I espeacially love that you can see shades of who Liz will become even if she was dealing with Packer. Also the quick shout out towards Josh and Jan (who it seems can't stay away from the Dunder-Mifflen men) To the point though, a wonderful work. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Wow. This makes a lot of sense as to the seemingly pointless rivalry between these two, on Michael's part, anyway. And it would explain why Michael makes so many divorce digs whenever he can. Poor Toby. And poor Liz, being groped by Todd Packer. And did I meantion that I love that you put Ed Truck in here?
Overall, awesome job. I really enjoyed this little backstory. :)
