This was beautiful and seriously put me in the holiday spirit.  I can tell this was good because I totally bought Jim's affection for Anne (the bastard!), almost as much as I bought Jim's love for Pam.  I feel like you really captured his love for her without being too explicit (no painfully-written cliches).  So, yeah, good job!  :)

Author's Response:

I'm so excited that you didn't find any painfully written cliches in this one, cause it was definitely a risk what with the holiday cheer and the warm-hearted theme.  Thank you so much for this review!  I'm glad my story got you in the holiday spirit!

Okay, I was late to church this morning because I was reading the first five chapters of this fic - and I don't care :)

This is such a great piece so far and I can't wait to read more of it. It's so great to see both of their perspectives on the "intruder" into their first Christmas at his folks' house. And I loved Jim seeing his future when he went to find Pam.

Great addition with this chapter and I can't wait to read what's next.

Author's Response:

thank you! I always love when a story is so great that it makes me late for whatever it is I'm supposed to be doing and I can't BELIEVE my story was like that for you!! So cool, thank you so much.

“So I guess I should cancel that job interview I had in Iowa, though, right Karen?”  Made me laugh out loud : )  Interesting twist:  Anne's crazy (at least when she was a teenager) and Larissa's a trouble maker.  I LOOOOOOOOVE this story.

Author's Response: lol thank you ;-) ;There always has to be one crazy person in a huge family setting like that, right?  I guess it's Anne, lol.

God I love this story.  I mean TRULY LOVE it.  You have captured such an enchanted holiday mood along with some Jim-and-Pam tension.  I really can't wait to read more.

"Because suddenly she was terrified that this meant that Jim had an M.O.  Suddenly it seemed like Jim was this certain type of guy who over-romanticized and who fell in love and had his heart broken over and over again, and Pam was just another tragic romance in a long line of many."  This line, I think, is what most intrigues me.  For some reason I love the idea that Jim has a serious romantic past.  I think it's because we know that Pam had been with Roy for a long time.  Most stories seems to portray Jim as having some past relationships, maybe a sort of serious one, but never one like his with Pam.  To me, this puts them on more equal footing.  I hope that makes sense.

Author's Response: Ugh I know I love that idea too.  Wouldn't it be so juicy if we just like found out Jim had been engaged in college or something?! I would flip out probably but it would be a really interesting character twist.  Anyway, enough of my AU rambling, I'm so glad you enjoyed this story so much!!! Thanks for the review!

What a lovely way to wake up on the Sunday before Christmas.  I love the Halperts and the craziness of the household.  Can't wait for more.  LOVE JAM!!!

Author's Response: who doesn't love jam?  I mean really ;-)  Glad I could brighten your sunday!! Thanks for reviewing.

I love this story. What a terrific Christmas present to find after clicking Most Recent - everyone is absolutely spot on, and I can't wait to find out where this is going.

Author's Response: Wow thank you! I'm happy that you liked my Christmas contribution to MTT!

I can't wait to see where you are taking us with this story.  What I thought was merely wonderful Christmas JAM fluff has turned dark and deep and I love it!

Because suddenly she was terrified that this meant that Jim had an M.O.  Suddenly it seemed like Jim was this certain type of guy who over-romanticized and who fell in love and had his heart broken over and over again, and Pam was just another tragic romance in a long line of many.

This paragraph gave me chills!  Nice work.

Author's Response: Thank you! Just something I've always wondered about since season three started... what if Jim just does this? Anyway of course I couldn't stand to let that be the case, but I thought I'd throw it out there into the fanfictional abyss.  Thanks for reviewing, I love it!

I am absolutely in love with this story. And I'm even more in love with the fact that it's already done so I'll be getting updates steadily throughout the day!

Wow. A Christmas story by Stablergirl...that's already written...and that's completely awesome...well, this sounds like a Christmas present for ALL OF US! Honestly this is so great. As I was reading about the perfect Halperts and their perfect Christmas I was getting a little bitter and hoping something interesting would happen - and it totally did. I definitely think it's plausible that Jim could have been keeping something like that from Pam and I can't wait to see how you have them address it. Hope you post more soon. I totally got spoiled by these five chapters at once!

Author's Response: right? five chapters at once of something is like...wow...jackpot.  That's why I thought I'd just post this all and let everyone enjoy it for Christmas.  Anyway, thanks so much for this great review! I'm glad you like the story and I'm glad you enjoyed the interesting twist of Anne ;-)  Gotta throw in something to muck up the perfection, right?

Oh my goodness, I can't wait for more updates. The faster the better. I really love this angle of Jim having the awkwardness of a former flame hanging around. I can actually feel Pam's discomfort. Loving it.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! Yeah, who hasn't been in that awkward position?  Am I right? ;-)

You are such a good storyteller. But, damn, now I want to know all the backstory of this girl from Jim's past who broke his heart. I have a sneaking suspicion that Jim isn't going to want to volunteer too much.
Well, you certainly surprised me with this little angsty twist, but I trust that you will make everything all happy in the end. Woohoo for more Christmas fic! I'm at work today and tomorrow, so this helps. [/Pam]

Author's Response: haha maybe I should write a spin-off about Anne and her life before, during, and after Jim Halpert.  Working on Christmas Eve?? Yikes.  I'm glad I could help you out ;-) ;-)

This is so good. I'm sitting in a car. driving to Wisconsin and this is just a lovely diversion. I can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Aw thank you! Glad I could create a diversion for you during your car ride to Wisconsin ;-)

This is wonderful! I was hoping to be a little more helpful and constructive with my comment, but unfortunately i am not as clever with my words as you are, and the only thing i can think to say is that this is wonderful! I am enjoying this immensely. I am always so impressed by the way you write Pam and Jim, but in this (clearly) especially Pam. She's beautifully flawed, so real. I really empathise with her. What a difficult situation! I hope she can work through it with Jim. I can't wait to see if she does. Merry Christmas!

Author's Response: Merry Christmas!! And thank you so much for the review, I'm really glad you read this one and enjoyed it, and I'm especially glad that you empathized with Pam and she seemed so real to you in this.  I loved writing this one, so it's win/win. ;-)

Love it! I always heart your stories, Stablergirl! Keep the chapters coming, quick!

Author's Response: haha don't worry, they're all done and just waiting to be posted ;-)  It'll all be up by tomorrow probably!  Thanks for reviewing!
