Shan!!!!!!!!! A new story from you is a glorious thing to wake up to. And a jimpot story nonetheless?!

I was so anxious/excited/nervous with Pam as she re-opened the gift. I'm happy to be able to attribute this to your amazing writing (and not my sad obsession... not entirely anyway).

That turtle dove card is genius. Where did that comes from?

Also, I may have enjoyed the ass-grabbing portion a little too much... Mmmm... that is one fine a-- Am I still typing?

You know what acts as a catalyst in the CO2 + reviews = O2 reaction? Fanfic.

I'm just sayin... ;-)

Author's Response:

Hahaha! As I was writing this I was like, SixFlightsUp is totally right. I am apparently obsessed with that teapot.

The turtledove card was something that popped up when I googled "funniest christmas cards" and is by no means a product of my imagination. Although I wish I could take credit :)

Anyway, thanks for the feedback! I knew that you would enjoy the ass-grabbing part. Heh. You rock!

Um, is there any chance you might want to continue this? Because that would just be...awesome.

Author's Response: Heh. Brokenloon actually suggested the same thing. I tend to write multi-chapter stories that are angsty, not fluffy one-shots so it's entirely possible that eventually I might add to this. We'll see :) Thanks for the review!

First of all, thank you for the kind words in your notes.  So.  How lucky am I?  This was just as much fun the second and third reads.  You know, I've thought about writing a fic with the card before, but I've never been able to wrap my mind around what it might have said.  Your version of it here is so perfect and satisfying.

Also nifty was Pam's declaration of not being drunk.  That whole scene was so evocative.  Poor Jim's heart must have ben going 200 beats per minute when she realzied she had read it.

The fic made my night, and now has made my morning.  Thanks again.

Author's Response: Well, once again, thank you for the wonderful feedback *and* for giving me a bit of extra time on this. It was an absolute pleasure writing it for you :)

Wow!  Let me start with saying that your grammar and spelling skills must be pretty good, because all I found was an 'it's' which should be an 'its' and a 'miserable' which should be a 'miserably.'  My unbeta'd stuff wouldn't be almost perfect, that's for sure.

I didn't realize this was going to veer off into fulfilling my hopes for these two.  Up until Pam grabbed the card from Jim (I enjoyed the fact 'groping' was mentioned, by the way), I thought this was going to be a 'unseen by the cameras' sort of thing, and Pam was going to just stamp down the feelings she was feeling -- on with season 2!

I loved that instead, she took the bull by the horns (or the man by the arms) and dealt with the feelings.  Hooray, hooray, and more hooray!

Here are some of my favorite lines:

“Please don’t kidnap the boy scouts,” she blurted out.

“Done,” Dwight barked, hastily swiping the iPod from Pam’s hand and shoving the teapot at her.

“No givesies backsies!” he warned.

I mean, what, is this teapot made of gold or does it brew gold or something?

“And that doesn’t taste like fire,” Pam added.

“Chickened out,” she offered.

“Hey, does this present come with bonus gifts?” he asked innocently.

Ha!  I bet that present does come with bonus gifts!  Imagine Roy's reaction to this!

Honestly, in real life, Jim and Pam would have been together way sooner than season 3, final show, final minute!! (Aargh!)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for finding those two mistakes! I've fixed them and given you credit in the author's notes :)

Also, I love that you quoted your favorite parts. Thank you! That is my favorite kind of review :)

Shan! First of all, it's so nice to see you back and writing again! And even though Christmas is over, this is a most welcome gift. (Yeah, I know you wrote it for brokenloon, but hey, we all get to share it, right? It's like second present! :) )

I'm going to agree with Becky215 and say that your version of Jim's card is the best one I've read (it's WAY better than my version of it! :P), and Pam's reaction to the aforementioned card is the best reaction of all the reactions. ;)

Oh, if only, huh? We could have been spared the dark, bleak days of season three...

Thank you so much for sharing this! Excellent!

Author's Response:

Hi Mose! Amen to skipping over season three. Oh the happy Karen-free times we would have had! Le sigh.

Thank you so much for the positive words!

That's a great AU interpretation! I like Pam's clarification that she isn't drunk! Oh and how she grabs the card out of his pants - just fab!

Author's Response: Thanks Jenn! I figured that Pam would want to distinguish between this kiss and the Dundies kiss :)

Oh, shan21, I loved this!!! In all of the fanfic I've read, I think I've come across about a dozen versions of Jim's card, but I'm confident in saying yours is the best version of the note I've read yet. So charming, so romantic (so Jim!). I also adored your Pam/Dwight discussion on the faults of the Boy Scouts, especially this exchange:

“Boy Scouts,” he spat in obvious disgust. “What do the Boy Scouts prepare you for?”

“Um… anything?” Pam guessed.

I could just see and hear that entire discussion. You've done a great job here, and I hope brokenloon appreciates the lovely fic your wrote for him!! Bravo!! --CH

Author's Response:

Brokenloon was perfectly wonderful about it. He encouraged me to post it on MTT straight away, because he kind of rocks :)

I'm so glad you liked it, Becky! I was a bit nervous about writing the card, because it's such a big deal in this fandom- sort of this legendary unknown (ooh, i sound super cheesy now!). And I'm also glad you liked the boy scouts stuff because I adore writing any and all interactions with Dwight.

Thanks so much for the feedback!
