It's heartbreaking and beautiful to read these fics set between 2 and 3 without the knowledge of what s3 holds. But I think they speak to something about the Pam/Jim relationship we should value even now.

Yeah. I like the way this Casino Night turned out much better.

Aw... if only things had ended up being as simple as all this.  You've done such a nice job here -- my favorite line, though, would have to be this:  "...at this break of the silence, time seemed to speed forward with a whoosh and the sound of a sob..."  This was just a great way to bring this feeling to words because it really is just like that when things like that happen.  This was lovely.  Thank you for sharing!

The thing that makes me love these characters is that Pam is a witty, slightly sharp person, and Jim is a kind one.  I watch the show partly because it's a sort of sordid relief to me, like crying is, to see the tragedy of people's flaws and fear and cowardice destroy their lives the same way my own destroy mine; but I also watch the show because--this is embarrassing to admit--it gives me hope.  Jim is a male character written by male writers, yet he's a good person.  He is the only evidence I've had in my whole life that a male person can be that way, even though I've wanted someone (someone male) just like him since I could first think and feel.

So I LOVE stories in which Jim is kind, in which he doesn't press power on anyone, especially Pam, in traditionally male ways.  "[I]t almost didn't matter to him how it all turned out, as logn as she was truly happy" is probably my favorite line in an evening of reading good lines in JAM fanfiction.  Thanks.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much! This had been my first Office fic, and I was just thinking today that it defintely isn't my favorite of all my Office fics that Ive written. So, thanks for this review- it encouraged me about this story again! And I, like you, have been trying to find someone like Jim, too. I wonder if guys like that really exist...

This was lovely.  I especially liked him moving back to give her space and all the little moments of the kiss and after.  And of course - the ending rocked.  :)

You convey the hush of that moment really well. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing, and for commenting about something specific. It's great that you picked up on the mood I [subconciously] weaved into the moment.

Nice. Especially...

"He whispered her name, to comfort and to coax, and at this break of the silence, time seemed to speed forward with a whoosh and the sound of a sob, and suddenly, Pam’s face was buried in his chest and his arms were wrapped around her, his nose in her hair."

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing, and especially for pointing out your favorite part. It's always interesting to know which parts of my stories affect the readers.

Lovely first fic!  I'm glad Pam took a bit of action at the end there.

By the way, could you possibly add the standard disclaimer to the beginning of your fic?  Thanks.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review!

And I added a disclaimer. Sorry about that; I had thought the general disclaimer built in at the bottom of the page was enough.

That was so sweet. Especially this line:  "With that, she was gone, leaving him smiling to himself, butterflies swirling in his stomach, knowing that things would turn out just they way he knew they were always meant to."

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and leaving a review! And thanks for letting me know a specific part of the story you liked. It's always interesting to see what parts stand out for readers.

Very sweet. I like the idea that Jim sought her out instead of just happening upon her. Thanks.
