I honestly squeal every time I see you have updated!

I am completely lost in this story.  The stairwell scene in this chapter was incredible.  Can't wait for Roy and Jim together!

Author's Response:

Your review made me so happy. I’m so glad you liked the stairwell scene. I wrote a different stairwell scene in another one of my stories that upon reflection, got away from me. I’m much more pleased with this one and I’m glad that others like it too.  Thanks so much for reviewing!

The last few sentences of this chapter are very visceral.

WOW. This is getting good *rubs hands together in glee* What o' what happens on the Today Show? And who is Anna with?? Dying to know!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for your review and I’m so glad you are intrigued by my teasers. I have something pretty special planned for the Today Show so I hope it doesn’t disappoint. Thanks again.

I love you, Mel. So very, very, very much. This was lovely, and it proves that, again, you're seeking to dominate my soul, you minx. The Angela/Pam tension was lovely, adn then at the end....well. I guess you have no regard for my heart, cause you broke it like it was your job. LOVE it! Can't wait for more, m'dear! -CH

Author's Response:

‘Tis my job to take your heart, crush it into a million pieces and leave you devastated. Just kidding. I’m so glad you enjoyed this chapter. It always means so much to hear from you and am pleased that you are liking this story. Thanks again!

I think this story is just such a unique little gem.  Your character voices are just impeccable.  I don't know how I found myself three chapters behind!  Those book titles were frighteningly accurate.  Eagerly awaiting any and all future chapters!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much. I’m really excited that people are finding the character voices to be pretty good. I work really hard on that. I had such fun coming up with Dr. Steph’s book titles so I’m glad that you liked them. I really appreciate your review.

“Not just a whore, Pam. An unpaid whore. I’m pretty sure that’s worse.”  Awesome : )  GiTC, you're pretty awesome, too!

Author's Response:

I can’t tell you how excited I am that you pulled out that line to quote in your review. I asked several people about it because I was afraid that it was too flippant of Jim…but I could HEAR John Krasinski delivering that line so I kept it in. I’m so glad you liked it. Thanks, as always for your review.

Okay, before I forget to say this, you get a thousand million extra bonus Schrute Bucks for the Lisa Whelchel reference! :D (Pardon me while I sing the Facts of Life theme song over and over in my head...)

I got so excited when I saw that you'd updated, I immediately dropped what I was doing and ran on over here. And you did not disappoint! That transcript for the Dr. Stephanie show was frighteningly real-sounding--and I don't think I've ever listened to more than about three minutes' worth of Dr. Laura. But you got the tone and feel of the sort of judgmental talk show that i imagined it would be. I think it was a pretty good warning sign in the last chapter that Angela was excited about it. :)

The second half of the story was especially touching. I liked the allusions to "Back From Vacation" (even if it was purely coincidental... I chose to see them anyway. :P) with Pam crying in the stairwell. (How much better would the real crying scene have been if Jim had found her instead of Dwight? The mind boggles.)

And, of course, it was a very nice touch at the end there with the flowers.

Mel, you're doing such an amazing job with this story. You're an inspiration to us all. :)

Author's Response:

Guilty pleasure confession time.  I used to read Lisa W’s parenting blog all the time before she stopped doing it last year. As an educator, I’m just fascinated by her ideas about home schooling.

Glad you thought the Dr. Stephanie show was realistic. I was worried when I was writing it because I felt like I was just doing a really bad caricature but then when I went and looked at Dr. Laura’s blog, I realized that maybe these people really were just like that.

Thanks so very much for your kind words about the second half of the story. I always worry (can you tell I worry a lot) about sounding too cheesy or overly dramatic…but you know…sometimes life is like that.

As always, thanks for reading and reviewing. It means so much to me.

Dr. Stephanie hawking her crap books at every opportunity was hilarious.  And Pam!  I just want to hug her in the stairwell, too.

The roses are a great touch -- yes, Pam, this is the person who understands you.  Babe.

Author's Response:

I had so much fun playing around w/ Dr. Stephanie. It seems like people like that always have advice that they want to give you…for a price. I’m so glad you singled out that aspect of the story.

Thanks so much for your review. I really appreciate it.

This is good.  I like how they are making it a game with the list.  Haha...should have caught on to that with the randomness of their answers in the interview.

TWO UPDATES IN ONE DAY!?!!!!!!!!! Heck yeah!

All I can say is:

Well, you know what ultimately happened. Most of America knows what ultimately happened. Leno…Perez Hilton…the press junket in New York City…the Today Show…it was like a train going off its tracks and though I did my best to keep things under control, there was only so much I could do.

!!!!!!!!!!!!

And:

I also felt that pushing them like that would force them to bottle things up and possibly explode at a time when we couldn’t control it. Little did I know.

!!!!!!!!!!

What do you have up your sleeve? You are so ridiculously good at this, seriously! How do you do it?!

Author's Response:

I don’t know that I’m doing anything special, but I am having a blast writing this one. I’m so glad that you are enjoying it.

I see your Promo Monkeys are related to the NBC Promo Monkeys -- that ought to be interesting!

Author's Response:

Oooh…maybe I should work in a chapter based on a promo! I hate promo-monkeys too, but think that in our fictional world, they’d be having a field day having actual Jim and Pam to send out to do their dirty work. Thanks, as always for your review.

Bless your busy and brilliant little mind, GiTC!  Such a treat to get another update so soon.  This was such a tease but so dang good!  I am just dying to find out what happens next!

Author's Response:

I hate teasing people, but I think that whatever Anna would be talking about would be informed by what she knows happens next. I ‘m so excited to write the upcoming chapters so I hope you won’t be disappointed.

Two updates in such rapid succession? You're spoiling us, Mel! (Not to mention making the rest of us (read: ME) who aren't as fast on the keyboard as you are look bad. :D

I know I've said this before, and I'll probably say it again, so just get used to it, but this story is seriously kicking my butt with how awesome it is. I love the foreshadowing that's going on here in the interview, and the hint that something really bad is looming on the horizon for our heroes. I also love the way you tied the opening interview to the second half of the story with Anna and Pam talking behind the scenes of the radio program. Now, far be it from be to be greedy, because you've outdone yourself today, but... I'm dying to know what happens on the Dr. Stephanie show! (Rule of thumb: never trust a "Dr." who goes by their first name. :P)

Author's Response:

So I shouldn’t trust Dr. Phil? Just kidding. Glad you liked this chapter. I’m behind on reviews so pretend that I’m writing this before I posted the most recent chapter.  I hope you like what happens on Dr. Stephanie’s show. Thanks always for your kick-ass reviews.

Mel, this just keeps getting better and better. I think this is one of the more original approaches to the show I've ever seen, and it's a treat in every way to read. I'm still loving the transcripts/articles/questions portions of each chapter; they're lending such an air of realism to all this. Like the Blair Witch Project, only less scary and cheesy. :D

Also, I heartily endorse the media becoming a little more... not soft... on Jim and Pam's relationship in future chapters. That will be fun for everyone. ;)

Author's Response: But maybe I can work something in with Dwight in a knit cap crying into the camera. Seriously, thanks so much for the kind words about this story. I think you'll see with the next chapter that you are about to get your wish with the media being a little more...agressive with old Jim and Pam. Thanks so much again for your review! It is much appreciated.

This just ridiculously good and entertaining and well though out!

And this little bit just made me melt and made me want to stab Roy for his timing and made me want to threaten you with anything I can think of until you update again:

“Ugh. So I guess someone will read it. Anyway…I…um…I appreciate what you said, Pam. Maybe I can return the favor sometime…like when you’re featured as Scranton’s most beautiful bride or something.” It was just a throwaway comment, an attempt to show that it was no big deal to shower compliments on each other…especially if the cameras were catching this conversation, but she started to turn the most delicate shade of pink. Before he could tease her, or explain away his words or before the tips of her ears could continue to turn a bright red, the office doors opened and Roy ambled in, bringing the slightly metallic scent of the warehouse with him. She removed her hand from his and scooted her chair closer to where her fiancĂ© was now leaning over her desk.

Guh--this is just so well done, and it's not an easy concept to capture.

Also, I promise, no threats, but I am on pins and needles here!!!

Author's Response: Roy has great timing, doesn't he? And your non-threats worked. I updated again this afternoon. Thanks so much for your review and the kind words. It means a lot coming from a writer of your caliber.
