Ha! Love the use of Marjorie, and this is a theory on Phyllis' one-night-stand I'd never heard before. Fun.

FYI - I don't know how to say "Manischewitz" so I am saying Manny instead. Because it is fun that way, kk?

2004. Pre documentary. God it. Actually, pre me graduating from HS even.... wow. That makes it feel forever and a day ago. I was so young!

And then whoa. But funny whoa. But whoa.

Author's Response:

It's pronounced Manishevitz. :)  At least, that's how I've always heard/said it.

2004 is not a long time ago.  I won't mention when I graduated from HS, but if you think 2004 is a long time, you'd be blown away by it. ;)

I'm glad to have surprised you.  I'd rather Phyllis's one-night-stand was with Marjorie than Packer, I guess.  Brrrr!  Packer!

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, EH!  I really appreciate it! :)

Wow. A thousand applauses for your boldness and daring. Very clever, my friend, and like Mose said, I love how you give us these glimpses of the unsung secondaries! Bravo!! --CH

Never Acquiese.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much, CH!  I do love my ancillary characters, don't I? :)

I greatly appreciate that you've read and reviewed!  Never acquiesce. ;)

TLK, I applaud you for having the unabashed courage to take different routes with fic and giving us glimpses into the lives of the other characters whose names don't rhyme with "Shmim" and "Spam." (Please, no Python jokes...)

And I'm one of those people who didn't even realize there WAS a Marjorie for the longest time.

"I just want to say good luck. We're all counting on you." - Airplane. :D

Author's Response:

That's right, Cousin Mose; there is no Stanley fic tree. Do you think the world is crawling with Phyllis fics? Show me that farm. With Stanley and Phyllis and Marjorie fics sprouting up all over the place, ripe for the reading. Show me that farm. (/thanks to the real author of what I've altered there, Michael Schur.) I think Dwight would run that farm with the help of his cousin Mose, and he'd try to charge Michael for staying there. ;)

It's fun to write about different characters, I think.  And certainly with someone like Marjorie, there's a lot of leeway on how you write her.  Who's to say "that's not how she is"?  There's actually a Marjorie website.  I wonder if they'd like to hear about this story, or not like to hear about it?  Hmmm.

This isn't a Python joke, but I do have a spam filter here which sings the Spam song whenever it sends something to the spam folder.  So I'll just be going about my business and I'll hear "Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spammity-Spam, Spammity-Spam."  I'm still not sick of that, so apparently I have a high tolerance. :)

Thank you so much for the support, Cousin Mose!  I really appreciate it.  Never acquiesce. ;)

When I first read this, the surprise level wouldn't have fit in a rowboat.

Author's Response:

Would your surprise level fit in some sort of a larger boat?  It bothers me that you're not answering the question. ;)  I love that scene, and especially Phyllis's response.

But seriously, I don't think I had given you any clues, so I'm sure it was a surprise. ;) Just more proof that I'm sort of odd, right?  Expect the unexpected.

Thanks for reading (again) and reviewing, Swedge!

So cute, and great tie-in to SH!

Author's Response:

I've always been curious about that one-night stand, and it ought to have been with someone still working at DM during SH, right?  It was fun to come up with a different sort of option for Phyllis's partner.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, kaystar! :)

Oh my God, TLK!  Phyllis!!  I love this so much and Michael's suggestion to try Weight Watchers is just perfection.  Great title, too.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Sweetpea!  You're always so supportive; I really appreciate that! :)

I think Michael would hear 'diet' and go right to 'fat older woman needs to lose weight.'  Not that Marjorie is fat, but that would be Michael's take on it.  He was the one who said even the hot ones aren't all that skinny, indicating Pam...

I was glad to come up with this title, too.  Titles can be so difficult, and I almost always don't think much about them until it's time to post, and then I'm under pressure.  That's why they aren't always great. ;)

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! :)

That's a cute story, Kev.  I could see Marjorie being Phyllis' one night stand.  And Michael being so culturally insensitive, as always.  Nice.

Author's Response:

Thanks, EH!  I love that you're always willing to read even the odd little stories, with no sign of JAM. ;)

Someone had written a neat story about Tom (you know, Tom? [pantomimes gun to head]) being Phyllis's one-night stand.  I loved that story, but I thought it would be fun to give another option.

I'm fairly certain that Michael would be as insensitive to different religions as he is to different races and cultures.  He's an equal-opportunity offender.  No group is immune to his cluelesness.  He'd order up a pig roast for Yom Kippur, you know?  (And no, Yom Kippur will not have a Michael orders a pig roast story.)

As always, thanks so much for reading and reviewing, EH.  I really appreciate the support. :)
