I absolutely love this because it seems so plausible and so very THEM that they would be brought back together by the games that always bound them in the first place.

Oh, I love-love-LOVE this. I think this is the best Pam-explanation of why she didn't call EVER. And I love his response! So nice!

When you walked in the door for the first time and there she was and her eyes lit up and her smile was blinding and then she was hugging you and she smelled like strawberries and felt like home and you were both so happy for just that one single moment before you remembered.

That? Is an amazingly good description of that moment. I like this whole chapter very much. The idea that Pam knows how to approach him when Karen just didn't? Spot-on. Good work!

Author's Response: Just re-read "Eggshells" for the millionth time, so how cool that I get to respond to a kind review from YOU! :) (It's my go-to Fluff story, to cleanse my soul of the angst you find around here.) Thank you so much for the kind words. It really means a lot coming from an author I respect so very much!!!

I'm really loving these, and I think this is my favorite so far. As somebody else already said, that moment when Jim said "Yes" was one of my most favorite moments in the whole series, not just the season. So much said with one word.

I'm looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you! I've got the next one outlined, based on "Phyllis' Wedding". Should be up soon. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter. I think that scene is the most vulnerable and real that we see him in all of S3.

I've enjoyed them all, but this one is may favorite so far. I think I've read it about 5 times. Wonderful. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reviewing! Actually, of the three, this is the one I was most uncertain about before posting, so I really appreciate your taking the time to let me know you enjoyed it. :)

The Return was my favorite season 3 episode. Just...Jim's voice when he said "yes" killed me.

I love what you did with it!

Author's Response: Thank you! That scene is just so heartbreaking, esp. his expression before Karen even enters the room. Clearly, he's going through some major stuff in his head.

Oh, very nice chapter! I am enjoying these "what ifs". Lovely last paragraph!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! Sometimes I think I end this a bit too abruptly, but I'm glad you enjoyed the ending. :)

Fact: Premise for the entire fic is awesome :)

I like the way you've made them completely separate scenarios. Um, nothing terribly interesting to add except I love it and Jim and Pam are adorable.

Author's Response: Fact. I really appreciate your kind review! :) Thank you so much. More coming soon!

The interaction between Jim and Pam was filled with just right amount of drama, anger and sadness. I love a good "fight" scene, especially one that is written well.

Author's Response: The fight was a lot of fun to write. I had so much more I thought of for them to say to each other in this, but when I sat down to write it, it just flowed the way it did. Thanks so much for your kind reviews!

Wow. What a great concept for a story... and who would've thought the word "Ryan" could have changed the course of Season 3.  This is such a simple line “Why didn't you tell me?” he whispered finally. It conveys so much of Jim's sadness during this time.  Nice Job!

Author's Response: Thanks! I can just see them with the long pause and then the question that just goes right to the heart of everything... no preamble, no explanation. He asks that and she knows exactly what he means. These characters are soooo much fun to write. I'm glad you enjoyed my little take on it. :)

Aw, these are very nice chapters. You make it sound so simple and just about natural that they blew past the angsty parts. I hope you keep writing, I'll be watching out for this story!!

Author's Response: Thanks! My take is always that open communication makes things much easier, and it's clear that that is a huge problem for PB&J. I like imagining what would happen if they just said what they were thinking. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Did not see the 'jinx' coming! I love this idea... so many ways they could've just passed through all the silliness! What's next? :)

Author's Response: Yeah, I get that they need to go through the silliness, that she needed time to live her life on her own a bit, that he needed to grow up a bit too... but I still say S3 makes me crazy! Not sure what's next, gotta keep plowing through the DVDs!

Oh...my...God. That was awesome! That last paragraph just had my heart skipping!

Author's Response: I love when she skips after him during the original Jinx scene. It was just so cute and I think really gave her true feelings away, even if she didn't know it herself. Thanks for the kind words!

I really like this idea you have!  And the jinx was so unexpected for me in this chapter.  Love the last two paragraphs, especially.  I hope you think of lots more missed chances to write about!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! Next one is "The Return" and should be up in a few days at the latest.

Totally gave me chills. Maybe you should write for the show, b/c I love this ending better than "Bye Pam." It was so them and perfect. Added to my favorites!

Author's Response: Well, if you hear of any openings, I can send you my resume. :) Seriuosly, though, thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope to do at least a few more chapters.

What a wonderful story! really nice! You capture very well the characters. I hope you write some more! =)!

Author's Response: Thank you! The characters are fun to write, and it's challenging to make sure I keep things realistic to what they might actually do, say, or think. I'm glad it felt accurate. :)

Outstanding!  This conversation has always made me nuts.  I love, love, love what you did with it!

Author's Response: It drove me nuts too. Now when I re-watch it, hopefully this will fend off the annoyance. Geez S3 Pam/Jim.. just TALK to each other for once!

I love 'what-if' stories! I really like how you wrote this and I can't wait to see more.

That made me very, very happy. More???

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm thinking the next one will re-imagine their conversation at the end of "The Merger" out in the parking lot. I was thinking of doing something with the text message in "Diwali" but I'm not sure I do much with that or that it would be different enough from this one.

This is really good. I love the idea that their families gave her grief (very realistic), and that she was still feeling guilty at this time. And the final line? Awww. Can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Author's Response: I can't even imagine the hell she must have gone through ending a 10 year relationship 3 days before the wedding. :( I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Wow, so much can change on just one extra word from Pam. Looking forward to reading about other potential "What Ifs"

Author's Response: Thank you! When I was thinking of this scene and re-watching, it just occured to me that if she'd just said Ryan's name then their conversation would have just kept going on. I really love/hate the way they jerked our chains in S3!
