Aw, now that was adorable. I loved that Jim asked Pam's dad for permission to marry her... and her reaction! Although if Jim sneezed, I'd probably have that reaction. ;) Great job.

Author's Response:

Aww.  Thank you!  And I think so too. :)  I'm so glad you liked it!

That was absolutely beautiful!  Your writing and attention to detail were so good I could totally picture them having that conversation in the kitchen.  Just breathtaking.

Author's Response:

If you can picture it actually happening then I can't ask for more.  Thank you so much for the very kind review.   Made me smile. :)

Aw. So this happened. Had to.

Love the intimacy of it - Jim drinking from her cup is a lovely detail. And also like how she's so happy to be home, getting debriefed on the office insanity and just being who she is. With him. Nice. (I've been playing around with a story and can't seem to get into gear...would you cyber-rub against me so I can catch your motivation?;-)

Author's Response:

The whole thing started when I went hunting for chai tea while at my meeting last week. (Found it on the coffee break).  No one lanky snagged my mug and stole a sip...unfortunately.   I imagined the whole kitchen scene - then just needed a place to put it.  I'm so very glad you liked it.

Anything I can do to motivate you my dear? I've totally been there and it sucks.

Very, very nice.  I like Pam's regret at having wasted time and her matter-of-fact sureness that graphic design wasn't for her.  And, I like at the end how they cement their bond, as they have so many times before, by sharing the absurdity around them.  Well done, as always, my friend.

Author's Response:

Yay!  22 reviews!!!  That's better. :)   Did you plan that?

One thing.  Her matter-of-fact sureness wasn't quite what I intended there.  I meant it more like it was the excuse she'd come up with on the surface - and that the real issue was what they discussed later.  Still I'm glad it worked for you the other way.  It's always interesting to see what others take away from what you write.  Thanks - as always - for letting me know.

Awww, you know what I like.  They have a serious convo, but yet are still adorable doing it. :)

Author's Response: Yeah I've got your number. ;)  Thank you. Glad you liked it.

You render me incoherent. I am stifled by fluff and consumed with squee, and it is all your fault. This sounds just like them and is so real.

Author's Response:

Incoherence is good.  I'd apologize for stifling you except I'm not sorry. :)  So glad you liked it!

Aww. What a wonderful homecoming for Pam. I'm so glad you showed them dealing with the reasons for her return besides just their revelry in being together again. As happy as the ending of the episode was, I can't help but think it left some lingering questions, all of which you've addressed very nicely here. I especially love the ending bits where Jim clearly loves sharing the news about Andy and Angela's wedding, and about Ryan and Kelly too. The craziness of the office is a major connecting link between the two of them, and it subtly gives her yet another reminder of why she came back to Scranton.

Author's Response: Aww Blanca - thanks!  I had them at first discussing the wedding and Pam saying she wanted something smaller this time etc...maybe touching on Phyllis' Wedding a bit - but I liked this idea better in the end.  Obviously.   So glad you liked it.

Wow. I cannot WAIT to see Pam's first look at the loony bin that is the Scranton office.

Sorry you're having insomnia, glad to be reaping the benefits, though.

There IS no place like home, no?

Author's Response:

Me either!

At least I'm doing something productive.

And yes.  There's no place like home.  :)

I don't know how I missed that you had posted your new story.  I knew you were working on it, but I didn't realize you had posted.  Very sweet as always. :)  I must say, I do prefer a version where Pam couldn't help it but come back to Scranton to celebrate the event instead of sadly going back to NYC. :)

Author's Response: It's OK.  We have plenty else to talk about besides me writing a new fic.  LOL!  Thanks again for the review.

Lovely.  Truly.  I think my favorite detail was the unspoken comparison to Roy, based on how Pam reacted to learning that Jim had asked her dad first.  Subtle and spot on.

Author's Response:

Oh thank you.  I stuggled with drawing too many comparisons between Jim and Roy and I'm so glad you picked up on it.   I'm so glad you liked it. :)

So romantic...this captures the giddy, besotted (and soggy, lol) mood of their proposal perfectly. Babies with Jim's hairdo and jumpshot - sounds like a plan to me. Reading this was a lovely way to start an Office-less Thursday morning!

Author's Response: Oh YAY!!  I'm so glad to see your review.  Most times - something doesn't seem real to me until I get the "Colette seal of approval."  LOL! ;) Anyway - you're welcome for the romantic and giddy.  Glad I could make your day better. I'm still mad there's no Office today. :(

Aww.  That was simply adorable, and chock full of xoxoxo goodness, the warmth and humor that spills out of every sentence you write aboout these two.  Especially loved Jim's gag...Kelly and her toilet paper wedding dress.  And something struck me about Pam whispering "It'll be easier now--don't you think?"  Something so sweet and vulnerable about it.  Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you from saving me from having 13 reviews.  I'm not really superstitious - but I'm a little stitious. ;)  I like even numbers.  So glad you liked it.

::sigh:: so glad you decided to join the fun, Hugs. The part where they started talking about kids...I was gone. Here's hoping we get some kind of conversation like this in the not too distant future. Lovely.

Author's Response: I'm glad too. :)   I don't think we'll have quite the same conversation but a little variation would be lovely.  Thanks so much for reading (and the sweet review).

Author's Response: Thank you so much SPC!  I'm so happy when I see someone new review.  Makes me smile. :) Jim is considerate and adorable isn't he?  That Pam's a lucky girl. ;)

Oh I like you, xoxoxo.  This was just perfect.  I love that he asked her dad - such a Jim thing to do, and I love that they drive back together and spend the night at his place.  This felt so real and so...them.  Perfect.

Author's Response: When I watched the episode all I could think of was that there's no way he'd leave her there afterwards.   I started with Pam waiting in the car and the rest was history.  And Jim TOTALLY would ask her dad first -even if it was in the car on the way to the rest stop.  So very glad you liked it. :)

I've read this like 5 times.  I love how their "after" conversation is all about the infinite possibilities that lay before them, both with the talk about kids and their careers.  They can see it happening, it's real.  Just wonderful and indicative of their solid committment to each other.

Author's Response: Aww YAY!  I'm so glad you liked it.  Read it five more if you'd like. ;)  I really wanted to make it seem real and I'm so happy you think I've succeeded.  Thanks so much EH for the very sweet review. :)

*melts*  There can never be too much proposal fic from my favorite writers.  Never.  We've waited almost as long as Jim has, after all.

Totally kicked everybody's asses.  Well done, xoxoxo.

You know the thing that's so great about this? (Well, among about a dozen reasons, that is) It's so plausible. It doesn't feel like a lot of "this is what I wish would happen" fics that I've read; this is more along the lines of "little do you know that I've got access to all the unaired footage, suckas!" :)

In addition to all that, it's sweet, it's poignant, it's funny, and all those other bits of brilliance that I've come to expect from your writing. Nicely done. Take two gold stars out of petty cash. Or better yet, let me give you five. :D

Author's Response:

Well that is so great to hear.  It's always my intention to make - even things that might be AU - sound plausible.  Highest praise in my book and I thank you for it.

Thanks for the gold stars. :)

What a wonderful story. I think you did a great job of capturing the excitement and love between them. I don't if i am just overly emotional but this was a great line:It felt as if his heart stopped beating for a moment.  It was amazing, after all this time, to realize that conversations like this were real.  This really could - and  would - happen. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Also Jim asking Pam's Dad for "permission" was so classy and totally something Jim would do.

Author's Response: I think Jim always has this sense of disbelief as far as Pam is concerned.  Things like this help to solidify that for him.  And Pam simply loves him.  I totally think that Jim asked Mr Beesly - probably soon after their conversation in Chair Model.  At least in my world he did. :)   Thank you so much for your sweet review.

My goodness. This is so sweet, so perfect. I love that she waits in the car for him- no wonder he was so smiley at the weigh-in! And his teasing about setting up for the wedding was pitch-perfect.  Aren't we happy now? Remember our finale angst? It's all OK. They're engaged! And that joy is all the way through this piece. Love it, love you, love them.

Author's Response: Thank you Lis.  Yes - finale angst obliterated.  What a difference an episode makes.  So glad you liked it.  :)

Man, you know how to make me smile. You made me love that proposal even more. And he asked her dad. And they are talking about kids. And I may be crying with happiness, but I'll deny it if you ask.

Absolutely lovely.
