You are making me very sorry the writers wrote off Jewish Jim Halpert.

The start of this fic was so fecking hot, I think I almost died reading it lol :)

How about a Chanukah fic, or a Purim fic hehe.

MORE =)

Author's Response: hmm - a hanukkah  fic!  it never occured to me, but it's a great possibility. i like that idea!  seasonal, topical, hmm.  thanks for the feedback!

I freaking loved this line. "After all, he's not Catholic." < you = genius.

Are you Jewish? In my head Jim is also Jewish, and I just hope/wish you write more of these, because they really are so good.

I also love Ben, Tate and Mama Halpert so much.

Author's Response:

oh, man, thanks so much!  i am not jewish, but i have an active interest in judaism and have spent years of my life in relationships with jews.  so, doesn't really count, but that's my pedigree :)

i'm glad you like ben, tate and mama halpert!  i am sorry to say, though, that i may be retiring ben and tate (if only b/c i try to stay in the world of cannon).

I read this first thing yesterday morning. Since then, I have trying to come up with something to review that would actually do the awesomeness that would do To a year of great goodness justice. This is so wonderful.

ps- As a Catholic, I  really got a laugh from 'After all, he's not Catholic.'

Author's Response:

that's so unbelievably kind! thank you!

ooh - glad i didn't offend w/the catholic line! i'm pleased it triggered a laugh and not something else :)

I LOVE your stories so much. I have always thought Jim was Jewish and I don't know why. I loved how his yarmulke is from his Bat Mitzvah, I can totally imagine his name sewn on with the date lol.

Keep writing, and ooog you should have written a fic with Jim building a sukkah in his back yard lol.

Author's Response:

thank you! well, i always reasoned out that jim is jewish because if you look up Halpert in wikipedia, it tells you that it's a derivative of the last name Heilprin - which is a jewish surname. so, maybe cannon will show that he's not jewish, but he will always be to me :) and in my fic :)

hmm.  what about jim at his son's bris? ;)

The beginning of this chapter is effing hot. Thank you for that. :D

His stomach rumbles and he thinks he might break the fast when no one is looking; after all, he's wearing leather shoes, and certainly not did refrain from sexual activity, so he might as well ignore the Torah completely and have a bagel.

I *love* this line!! It's amazing.

She looks confused. "Wait, Pam – you mean Pam. That Pam."

He tries to fight the smile on his lips. "My Pam."

Way to make me melt into a puddle, ha ha. I love that she's "his" now.

This story was fantastic. Saving to my favorites.

Author's Response:

yeah - i thought it might be a little much, with the steaminess, but i have to hope that at that time last year, there was sex and maybe some conversations but mostly sex.  it was such an alluring contrast, i couldn't say no to my brain :)

thank you so much for the feedback!

Please write more "Jim is Jewish" stories!! I love them. (My Jim is Jewish, so I guess that explains my being biased.) :D

My favorite lines from this chapter:

In 10th grade he kissed Amber Rosenthal outside of the JCC. Awkward.

Going to his gay temple, Beth El Homo.

Maybe it's because he's been fasting today and he's really slow on the uptake because of it.

These all made me laugh. Great job! I'm off to review the second chapter.

Author's Response: thank you!  there is probably more 'jim is jewish' on the way - somewhere :)

I love Jim's though process...and his mom.  Great job.  Looking forward to more of the continuing adventures of the Jewish Halperts whenever you're so moved.

Author's Response: well you know you have one coming with your name on it! :)  thanks for the feedback.  i must confess to feeling at least a bit brilliant; yom kippur is definitely a great place to show his process and inner workings.  and mama halpert.

I really like reading about Jewish!Jim and his family : )

My favorite:  The rabbi speaks about sending thoughtless emails and texts, thoughtless letters and phone calls, that we send without thinking.  He talks about choosing words carefully, as to cause less pain.  It's so easy to shoot of an email about negative attributes.  It's more difficult and more ethical to speak kindly.  To put it well.  And with his head swirling, tears pricking his eyes, he lowers his head and catches his breath.  So touching and so true.

Author's Response: thank you!  and whoops - i must confess to positively ripping off my girlfriend's rabbi!  that was the topic of the sermon he gave last year at kol nidre.  it was so moving; i'm still affected by it.

What a great story. I like your "Jim is Jewish" stories a whole lot. I'm Protestant, so I really know nothing about Judaism, so these stories are not only really great Jim/Pam wise, but they are also really great learning experiences for me too! I hope you add more stories to this not-offical series you have going here. (Is it official? If not, you should make it official!)

Author's Response: thanks so much! it's definitely not an official series, but you can sure count on more 'jim is jewish' touches in my stories when applicable.  also, i must confess to NOT being jewish (in case i haven't said that yet).  i've had two jewish significant others and i've always been very interested in judaism, but i'm no talmudic scholar. so! i do my research.  i've had one person tell me that their holidays are like this - so i feel validated at least a little :) thanks so much for your feedback, seriously.  much appreciated.
