Behind again! Oops. So quickie reviews :)

I really enjoyed this chapter and the way you blended the flashbacks was really well done. Hazy drunk Pam was hilarious, I love that she totally DID get lost when she went in search of the ice, and Jim attempting to wrangle her and the whole situation was great. I could completely picture Dwight's arrival, he first hearing him bellow for Angela before appearing. And there was just something about Dwight completely shutting Kelly out that made me giggle madly.   And lol at Kelly's line, which was probably one of my favorites of your Kelly in this series,
”What?! Oh my God, I fucking hate you guys. Seriously, you’re all a bunch of baby cradling whores.”

 Hee!

Again, the blend of Pam and Jim's brush with possible parenthood and Angela's labor was greatly done. I loved Pam drifting in and out of this in her state and later when they were meeting Angela's baby, how it all came together then. Pam and Jim's conversations about baby names and their subsequent grief over the loss of something they never had were handled really well and with that edge of humor that is always there for them.

And hee, we get Jim with a baby. Always a good thing. And hee at the final scene, "Alright. Climb on top. I'll just lay here and you can do all of the work." Awesome.

First of all, our taste in music? We must be twins. Every single chapter, I check out the playlist, and I love this story a little bit more. All Time Quarterback? Cake? Yes. Secondly, I've been reading since Indie Rock & Keds came out, and was very glad to see this. I love how your write both Jim and Pam, and how you adapted The Office to become an AU - I don't read many AU's that I like, and this one is great. So kudos aplenty. Also, I would definitely love a .zip file of the Jim and Pam playlist! Keep writing - I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Thank you taking the time to leave a note, citrus scented. It's so great to hear from a new reader such as yourself, and I'm glad you're enjoying the music in this story! My friends tend to call me a music slut, and my taste strays a bit all over the place. I shall get to work on zipping up that playlist. I kind of heart it a lot. ;) Thank you so much for reading!

Another awesome chapter as always! Quick nitpick: in order to become an art teacher in a public high school I think you need a masters. At least that's what I've always been told when I researched possibly becoming a teacher. I would look into that before having Pam applying for the job. Just thought I'd let you know!

Author's Response: Thank you for the info- this helps immensely. You have no idea how much research is being poured into this whole teacher storyline. So many friggin' rules, and then it varies by each state- Grr... I appreciate any help so, so much. :) I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thank ya, thank ya.

Guhness times a squillion, because that was just amaziiiiiiiiing. I have missed seeing Mr.Halpert in the classroom, and I really loved how Pam got involved with his class, of course Miss Beesly is cool, omg she has to work at the same HS as Jim, that would be SO cute, and she'd get to see allllll the girls swooning over Mr H -)

I so lol'd at them trash talking each other, seriously when he was all "your face hates you," I literally choked on my diet coke I was laughing so much lol.

I ADORE the CD covers omg, it's like they're real, I mean in my head they are, so whatevs lol.

Seriously you can never finish this fic, I want to experience Jim and Pam working together, getting married, in cali on honeymoon, having babies, coping with babies... so DO IT :p

Pfft your email was in my spam AGAIN, you're right, tag YOU'RE IT lol. Will reply tonight but omg, girl, you seriously amaze me.

The end lol.

Author's Response: What? The CD covers are real, what are you talking about? Haha. I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter- it's short, but one of my favorites. Anytime Jim and Pam are spending a lazy afternoon at home, bantering back and forth- Ah, I love it. You all get to see why those two are a definite match for each other.

I'm not sure this story will quite make it up to babies- but we will get to see the honeymoon! After that, I'm not so sure... It's all still up in the air. Also, I never got an email for you, but I emptied my spam folder before taking a moment to skim through it, so I'm praying I didn't delete it. Let me know! Have a great weekend.

&& so does this story (:

Author's Response: I think it's off their "Tourist" CD actually, so it's not too recent- but still amazing. Their new, new album is pretty amazing, too, if you've yet to have a listen- you should. ;)

OMG amazing playlist. Iam playing it now but I already know and love a bunch of these songs. ok ok first off Falling in Love in a Coffee Shop is completely adorable ahhh. so cutely Jim and Pam. and The Way Iam by Ingrid Michaelson! I love that song. Ingrid Michaelson is seriously beautiful, I've bought all of her cds. And Parentheses by The Blow!? I didn't know anyone else even knew that song. wow I've recently gotten a little obsessed with this song actually. I love Crazy Little Thing Called Love of course. That's a given. And Miracle Fortress!? yes! I saw them live opening for Stars one time.I can't believe you know this funky little band from Montreal. Canadians hardly know them. anyways I think this is definitely my favourite song of theres. I'm also digging this "Question" song. Never heard of them. Ok so I'm gonna finish this playlist but good job! that's a great idea for part favours. It's cheap and you can actually use and enjoy it. I'm going to keep that in the back of my mind for down the line...
oh and the actual chapter? lol yes that is what I am supposed to be reviewing. Lovely. My only thought is Pam working at the same school as Jim? Isn't that a little too happy-go-lucky perfect. Like oh it just so happens that this ideal job is available n the same place as your fiance. I mean it happens. husband and wife teachers end up working at the same schools, especially in smaller towns. But I dunno...Maybe it's because secretly deep down I want them to go back to Chicago and live it up. lol. But I'm happy to see that Pam felt comfortable in the classroom. I think she'd be a great teacher. Ok when is the wedding??? I loved the cd banter don't you worry. I'm just eager for the big day. Or at least like the rehearsal dinner or something immediately leading up to the wedding. :)
sorry for giving you actual constructive criticism this time. I've actually never questioned anything that you've wrote before. Because your so awesome. :D

Author's Response: Oooh... You shall see in an upcoming chapter, Jim very much still has plans for the two to move back to Chicago, and he and Pam will have to discuss that for a bit. I'm glad that you enjoyed the music, I slaved over that playlist! Haha. Also, Jim and Pam working at the same school is a little to storyline-driven, overly perfect isn't it? This is real! Haha, no, but I think Pam will find it a bit more difficult than she thought- getting into the whole high school art teacher thing, and that's another obstacle she'll be facing in an upcoming chapter. Stay tuned, my friend. :) And I appreciate any constructive criticism you throw my way. Seriously, feel free let me have it.

Thank you for such an amazing review! You're the best.

I love Rick James! He is the greatest! I am actually from his hometown. My sister was married on the day he was buried and there was lots of Rick James played in rememberance. Some of the best dance music was given to us by that man.

So it has been a few chapters since I have reviewed {apologies) so I think I need to make this one really good.

First can I just let you know how much I liked reading Jim's POV? Just awesome friend. More Indie Rock flashbacks and that is just fine with me! I really enjoyed reading his recount of how he fell in love. His memories of her birthday trip to Milwaukee was great. I love it!

Angela's baby is here!! I love the name Noah. Jim was awesome taking care of Angela and a drunk Pam. He is the best. I did feel sad for Kelly though, everyone loves a brand new baby, and she was excluded from Noah's welcome. Maybe she will learn and acquire an indoor voice.

Oh, oh, oh. We learned that Pam and Jim had a pregnancy scare... You wrote that really well. Although scary, you think about the what if... and you do really get attached, Pam's tears were perfect. All the different emotions she was feeling, I found myself nodding in agreement. As always Nightswept, good work.

I love it when Pam visits Jim at work. I really love it when it inspires her to make moves for herself in life. Jim and Pam as teachers together is an awesome thing. I can just see it now, them carpooling into school, being the 'cool' teachers, inspiring young people to learn new things. Yeah good stuff.

They are going to Disney! And surfing in the Pacific Ocean! Cool, cool, honeymoon.

And good job on the CD cover, very nice.

Are they really gonna get a puppy, or are you just teasing, I really want them with a puppy. :-D!!!

Author's Response: Helloooo,

Rick James! Yes- He is dance music king. Love that man.

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed peeking into Jim's POV. It was refreshing, I think, hearing a new and different side to the story so far. That boy is in love baaaad.

Ha-ha, Kelly being shut out from seeing the new baby. I think the growing animosity between those two (just like the show) is something I've yet to tap into in this story, but we'll start seeing hints of that in the chapters that follow. ;)

Pregnancy scare. Oy. I was scared to throw that in there, because I first deemed it as being too "soap opera-ish", but... It happens. And poor Pam, scared out of her mind at the thought of having a baby, yet at the same time- she sees Jim and how he is with children, interacting with them and being somewhat of a father figure all comes so naturally to him. How could she not want that man as the father of her child? Ugh. So heartbreaking.

Pam as a teacher (even if it was for only ten minutes) was so much fun. I think the idea scared her off a bit, but she's now seeing that she is fully capable of leading a classroom full of students. She's got it. Now if she just goes for that official teacher certification, she'll be okay.

Can't wait for the Cali honeymoon! I'm glad you liked the CD cover. And the puppy! Oh.... We'll see, but I have an inkling that there may be one in their future.

Very cute chapter. I love how easy it is for them to be around each other. But Jim should really be a little more flexible on the wedding songs. I mean, no Britney or Journey? Not cool.

HAHA how sad but utterly awesome is it that I knew instantly they were watching Chassing Liberty eeeeek. Me and Jim have so much in common, I also have severe allergies when watching A walk to remember ;)

Okay so omg as usual I am full of love and absolute squeeness after finishing this chapter. First, Jim being all grrrrrrr about getting to the hospital on time and getting pissed off with Pam, I found that TOTALLY sexy. And how he held the baby DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE GORGEOUSNESS OF THAT MOMENT lol.

As soon as Dwight came in to the chapter, I'm not kidding, I was reading it and hearing him at the same time, like it wactually like I had an episode in my head - which is what I usually get with your stuff, but he was doubly spot on today =)

The flashback to the pregnancy scare was amazing and totally unexpected and I wanted to jump in to your story and hug them both.

“How far are you dilated? Did you have Jim measure you?” < seriously choked on my diet coke when I read that.

Actually I cannot quote everything I loved, because I'll end up just copying and pasting, but this was SO perfect and lovely and just the best.

Oh gotta say, LMAO at Kelly not being allowed to see the baby HILAROUS.

Challenge for when and if you decide to take it - Jim as a mommy's boy :)

I literally make excited noises when I see a new chapter of this story come up. It's almost sad, but if I'm having a crappy day, a new chapter can cheer me up.
Some AU are just preposterous, but I love how you've managed to make the characters different yet hold on to their true essence. I freakin' LOVE drunk Pam and Jim handling her. And the way Jim interacts with Pam's girlfriends is great. I think I forgot to say a long time ago, I love the choice to make Karen Pam's friend and not an obstacle between them. It's just sharp and witty and touching and so good. I hope you have many more plans for this story. We're talking epic length...okay, have to stop gushing, need to go to work. So good!

Of all the adjectives I would've chosen for this chapter, (ex: awesome, amazing, squeal-inducing) sloppy would not be one of them. This is probably one of my favorite chapters of the entire story. Jim's perspective is absolutely beautiful. I'm fond of the Christmas scene, when he knew he was going to marry her. But all of his moments as he's trying to write his vows are fan-freaking-tastic. *swoons* And that sounds like a crazy bacholerette party. The stripper sounds kind of old if he got injured in Vietnam. Hmm.. Interesting. And I'm so excited for Baby Schrute! The coming chapters will be great, I have faith in you! Don't leave us hanging for too long. ;)

Author's Response: Hey there, thank you for the fab, fab, fabulous review. You are awesome, my friend. This was also one of my favorite chapters, although not a first because it was slightly different from the way I've been writing this story. But as I re-read it again and again, and again and again, I fell more in love with it. Jim is too adorkable, and it was such a treat to write in his POV. And the injured stripper in 'Nam. My goodness- believe it or not, that was inspired by a true story. Several of my friends went out to a strip club, and came back with that very same report. I figure someone has to be exaggerating the truth just a tad, since I cannot imagine how old that stripper would have been to have served in the Vietnam War. Seriously. Bad, bad mental images in my head.

Wow...I've just spent the last day reading "Indie Rock and Keds" and then this one and I have to say I love it. You write Jim and Pam so well, even in this AU world. I love all the supporting characters too...I can't wait for you to update again!

Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much hann. I'm glad you've enjoyed both installments. They have been such a joy to write, and I love to hear from all you as you read. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review. It was sad to bring Indie Rock to an end; I just became so attached to that story. But, this one is fun, too... It think it's interesting to watch a AU Jim/Pam as they grow and mature together. :)

Love drink pam, love how Jim quoted mean girls - that actually made me squee a little, as the image is adorkable :)

I CANT WAIT FOR JIM WITH CHILD - woah calm down Hannah lol.

Seriously, without being all dramatic, your fics get me through the crapola of my life, and i'm SO thankful for that.

Author's Response: Thanks, Hannah. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Mean Girls will make another appearance in this next chapter, so watch out! Also, Jim will be with child! Well, he'll be holding a child in his arms, not actually carrying one in his stomach. That's disturbing.

Author's Response: That's too cute! I love that. Oh, Facebook and how much I love you.

Drunk Pam! Yes, that will definitely carry over into the next chapter. She's too adorable when she has a few tequilas messing with her head. Or in this case, seven mango Mai Tais. My Lord, that woman can drink. I would say it's time for an intervention, but the poor girl was so nervous being out of her element at a strip club, who can really blame her, right? He-he. Yay! I feel weirdly honored to be in your Author's Note! Oh, such a dork.

I did enjoy seeing this from Jim's perspective, though it's interesting comparing the two. Like from Pam's, it's all these gestures and moments that added up to making Pam love Jim and want to marry him. And from Jim's POV, it's moments, yes, but it's moments where he's examining his own gestures, not Pam's, and the way his love for her grew and it showed in his actions and in Pam's reactions (you know, aside from the Xmas tree).I really liked seeing Jim, someone new to love and long term relationships and how he fell so hard so quickly and that yes, it very much began with a "what the hell" and I knda love that too. Jim mocking himself for wanting to put Starbucks and Facebook in his vows was great, especially when you consider Pam worrying so much that she would be topped by the journalism major. I really enjoyed Jim's view on Pam's birthday, when they argued and how all he wanted to do was confess what he was feeling.

And hahaha, drunk Pam is always awesome. But how quickly she sobered to Angela going into labor! Oh, so excited for that. (Sidenote: Kinda hilarious for me to picture big, pregnant, disapproving Angela at "The Petting Zoo". Speaking of, OMG, how old was that stripper for him to be injured in 'Nam??? Wow...)

Looking forward to seeing Baby Schrute and, you know, everything else :)

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you- if it wasn't for you, this chapter would have never come to fruition. It's something I've thought about for awhile, but was a bit hesitant to approach seeing how this entire whole story up has been told from a very one-sided point of view (Pam), but it bothered me that maybe it wasn't clear what made Jim fall so hard and so fast, and I felt like I needed to get that out there. So again, thank you.

Oh Lord, the strip club. There are a plethora of sleazy strip clubs in the Chicago area, and the man with eye patch- believe it or not- is a true story! Not that I was there to witness it, but a couple of my friends went to a strip club, just for kicks, and came back with that story. Now, someone had to be stretching the truth just a little bit, because I can't even begin to imagine a stripper who served in the Vietnam War. Seriously. But still, it was pretty amusing, and I'm confident that my friends were scarred for life soon after their little adventure which is why, thankfully, my bachelorette party did not include a strip club. And I am very relieved.

So different how these two fell in love. With Pam, she was looking for someone who actually loved and supported the real Pam since that was something she hadn't had in so long, and through Jim's small gestures and moments, she was able to realize that she had found just that. With Jim, having never been in love before, this was all a bit new to him, and he realized that he was going out of his way to do these things, these sweeping romantic gestures, something that he had never been inspired to do before, and not because he felt like he was obligated to, being somebody's boyfriend, but because he wanted to, and I feel like that's how it all started occurring to him- "Damn, I'm in love this woman." And yes, I would imagine that writing all of those feelings and emotions into one's wedding vows would be very difficult, even for a journalism major like himself.

Anyhoo, this reply has gotten way too long so I'm going to shut up- although I do have to add that a pregnant Angela at The Petting Zoo is pretty frickin' hilarious. I wish I could flesh that scene out more. Perhaps in a flashback, but I don't know. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
