This is just such a beautiful and realistic conversation that makes storytelling and writing look easy because you’ve done such an amazing job with it. Really good. I’m always happy when this pops up as a random story because I catch something new every time. Really good stuff here. Thank you for this.

I can barely remember the last time I surfed my way here (somehow I have found so little time for fic lately), but I am beyond thrilled to find this from you. Lovely, lovely. I actually had a post-ep idea, myself, which was pretty similar in tone to this. Does that surprise you? Hee.

Author's Response:

Hee.  No.  Not at all.  Great minds. :)

It's been ages since I wrote anything - so this was fun.  I'm very glad you found your way back - and even more happy that you liked it.

So much good fic writing after this episode.  Some have Jim angry, some supportive, yours is a bit in between.  I'm still somewhat ambivalent about the whole way it went down, but I think what bothered me the most is that they're going to be seperated AGAIN. :(  So I'm glad you Jim mention that.

Author's Response:

Amen sister.  That was all I could think of as I watched her walk away.  No more looks from the reception desk and vice versa.  Made me a little weepy.

I'm glad you liked it. :)

God, I needed this.   I'm trying to go with this story on the show, but man, they are not making it easy.   This conversation was right on point, and very true to the characters.  There has been a real lack of that on the show lately, imho.

Sometimes the show makes me sad.  This helps. /pam

Author's Response:

Awww.  I'm glad I could deliver. :)  I'm with you re: the show.  I always thought the point was to make me laugh more than cry.  Somehow I find myself wanting to do the latter.

Thanks so much for the review.  I appreciate it. :)

Awesome to see this! Always great to read your Jim-Pam conversation.  I have to say that in my imagined universe, Jim isn't quite so good-humored about the whole thing, but this was still a treat.

Author's Response:

Thanks!  I don't know.  I can see it either way.  I vacillate between him thinking he'll just humor her for a bit because he knows how it'll fail to being pissed off she did something so clearly stupid.  Something in me thinks the being pissed off would come later - like when the next mortgage payment was due - but who knows??

Glad it entertained even if it didn't quite ring true.

Le sigh.  Part of the reason I'm not freaking out about how "Two Weeks" ended is that now (since the end of S3 anyway) we're no longer privy to all of Pam & Jim's relationship.  They actually HAVE a relationship outside of DM, and we don't know what else they talk about, what they've agreed upon, what sort of understanding they have.  So I trust them to work out whatever is going on, as totally insane as it seems.  This goes a long, long way to help fill in the gaps, thanks for writing it, xoxoxo.

(BTW, Pam saying how she hated the weekends -- so adorable, and so true when you have an office crush.)

Author's Response:

I'm with you.  I was upset that she left - even if I understood it - and more upset that she left with Michael.  I want to ask her when she started smoking crack at lunch. :)

Writing this helped. :)

::sigh:: this was lovely Hugs.  I can definitely see this conversation having taken place. God, can you imagine Michael knowing where they live?! lol.

Author's Response: LOL!  I know. I hate to do that to them but it seemed to fit.  LOL!   I'm so glad you could see it happening.  That's always my goal.  Thank you so much for the review!

This was great. You won me over immediately with them agreeing not to tell Michael where their house was. And Jim missing Pam at the office - what is he going to do!? It's so sad!

Author's Response: Jim missing Pam is a little bit of ME missing Pam.  That is one of my favorite things in the show - having them sitting so close to each other. :(   I'm sad!!   So glad you enjoyed it!!

*sigh* This is a lot how I imagined the conversation they had when Jim got home. Supportive, but scared and nervous and second-guessing. But in the end, they still have each others backs, and you did a great job of conveying that. Very cute!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!!  I'm always happy to hear I come close to what other's may have imagined.  I'm so glad you liked it.

I love you, that is THE conversation I needed to hear and of course you provided it. Le guhness

Lovely job. You write them both so well. And I greatly enjoyed Jim's observations about Miner..."clueless" is right.

Author's Response: Aww thank you!  I'm glad you liked Jim's observations.  He seems to turn meek in Charles' presence - but I feel like he'd confide his true feelings to Pam.

This was very sweet, a good conclusion to a surprising episode.

And this: "The guy is clueless in ways Michael never was."? Just might end up being really, really truc.

Author's Response: And that was a very sweet review. :)  Thank you.

Pitch perfect, xoxoxo.  I got that "fly on the wall" feeling that hits me once in a while.  I could easily envision this conversation taking place.  If only we could have witnessed it.  Excellent job.

Author's Response: Well that's certainly nice to know.  Hearing things are pitch perfect make my day - so thank you!!  You made me smile. :)

This is sweet. Something I'd very much like to see (but likely never will). I love that he knows exactly how long it will take her to open up, and that she doesn't even have to finish her sentences, and how he makes a joke of losing the house. I also thought this rang very true:

"It's not like I don't worry on a regular basis." I'll bet!

It will definitely be interesting to see where this is all leading.

Author's Response:

This is what I thought about the entire time I was walking yesteday.  Yeah.  Pam and Jim have many conversations while I walk around the city.  This was the first one in a while that made it to the page though.  Felt good actually. :)

Poor Jim.  I bet he's constantly torn between being enthralled and enamoured of her and thinking she's out of her mind. :D

I still have my issues with this whole thing but I'm working through them. ;)

Thanks so much for your sweet review.

Clearly you were a fly on the wall that night, cause this is precisely what they said. And, so true about Charles' brand of clueless. Sheesh.

And, this might have been unintentional, but I like that Pam's final words were 'I do.' Sweet! Thanks, you!

Author's Response:

I try and remain as inconspicuous as possible. ;)

Hee.  I think I was unclear there - because those are actually Jim's last words to her.

Works for me either way though. :)

Thanks you!

This was wonderful, and very very believeable as the way that it went down that night. I laughed at the idea that they'd decided not to tell Michael where they lived, and I really loved this line, because it's so true:

Yeah. You heard me. I swear. The guy is clueless in ways Michael never was."

Great job.

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I was hoping it would ring true and I'm so happy you thought so.  I gotta admit - the first 4 lines were added on after I uploaded.  I was trying to think how Pam got home and realized there was no way Michael wouldn't have weaseled his way in.  Anyway - thank you so much for the review.  I really appreciate it!

Pam! Walk some. Couldn't you just lie and say your house was a street or two away? Lied and said you were sick so he didn't invite himself in? Something?

Oh, the fact that Jim knows how long it will take before Pam speaks? Kind of totally awesome.

Yeah, no one expected you'd pick this Pam.

I love this fluff, even if it just reminds me of the fact they are shaking up the office environment again (and it never seems to work). I don't want Pam to be a receptionist forever, I want more for her. I just don't want her at MSPC.

Author's Response: Em. C'mon.  She wasn't quite thinking clearly that day. :)  I am on the "want something besides a job with Michael" train but as time ggoes on I'm willing to give it a chance.  We'll just have to wait & see. :)

I love that you wrote about Jim and Pam talking about what happened in Two Weeks. This was a really lovely, really realistic conversation that I know we will never see. Kudos!

Author's Response: I love that you loverd it. :)  This is what typically happens.  I have things I want to hear them say...so...I make them say it.   Thank you so much for reading.
