Blanca, this is wonderful.

There is so much to love here that I almost don’t know where to begin. I’ll start with your characterization. The way you have written Jim is perfection. I agree he initially must have felt the desire to please, prove he is worthy or better than Roy and that it must have been a slow process for this compulsion to fade. The use and descriptions of the different Valentine’s Days is so interesting that I think I’m just going to have to make this chapter part of my personal canon. It breaks my heart to think of Jim painstakingly making a card for Pam and debating if it is time or right to express his feelings, and it breaks my heart to see Pam’s confusion and personal struggle between what she really wants and what she thought she wanted. And it warms my heart to see Jim and Pam finally relaxing as a more secure couple without all the bells and whistles that can be silly about Valentine’s Day. I also like how you tie this all together with something so delicious as public sex!! Perv that I am.

Ladies, I feel so horrible that I have been MIA with the reviews and will try to fix that shortly!

I really enjoyed this chapter. I loved the descriptions of the various V-days and especially the stark contrasts of Jim & Pam's V-days together (even when they weren't "together") versus those with Karen and Roy respectively.

Very spot on writing.  Great job!

awwwww. that is so sweet. i love the ending - how cute! and her confession was adorable. i must admit i was a little confused at what you were trying to say at the beginning, but the ending of this chapter more than made up for it. great job!

nice chapter. i love how jim and pam are really finding out who THEY are, not how to be like everybody else, but what makes them unique. they really are getting better with the whole communication thing and becoming more mature. way to go blanca (and everyone else!)

I love this trip back over the last several Valentine's Days.  Not sure why but it's particularly effective to me the way you moved BACKWARD through time.  I guess it just makes the outcome of the journey stand in a far higher relief when the story ends with their beginning.

Beautiful.

WOW! This was a wonderful update. Perfect mix of sexy, loving, adorable, and any other adjective I can't think of right now to describe Jim and Pam's current relationship. I especially loved how you addressed the whole "are we boring?" issue, and I think most would agree that the long-lasting - albeit not necessarily spontaneous - love Jim and Pam have is far better than anything else. Loved this!

It's hard to write a fic that's basically all dialogue without hitting a dissonant note - I know, I've tried! ;-) But, as always, you have a musical ear for these characters' 'voices'. And I love how, even though states apart during the episode, you've made their conversations (from mundane to serious) the datum that signifies Pam's adventure with Michael. Very believable. And you know I'm a sucker for the Pam/Michael/Jim axis, so hooray for including that too!

Author's Response: Well high praise coming from you.  I'm sufficiently humbled and thrilled that you liked it!  I was stuck in Pam's head for a bit there so I was a little rusty.  I'm glad to hear I've still got it. ;)   Thank you as always for the lovely review.  Much appreciated.

i think this is the best chapter so far (i've read most of them...). i just love how jim and pam always go back to each other. you know what i mean? at this point they're together forever, so you just get to sit back and watch the adorable and thoughtful romance? it's just so fun to read. way to go!

Author's Response: Well that is quite the compliment, considering the company I'm keeping.   Thank you so much.

Oh that felt like the sweetest, warmest blanket.  I loved the conversation in the car, her demand that he not joke about not marrying her...and then that lovely quiet moment at the end. Just beautiful.

Author's Response:

Warm blankets are good.  I'm so happy you liked it.  Thank you for the sweet review!

Oh I love these verbal dances between Jim and Pam, and anything that deals with the whole "silence" gap when Jim went to Stamford. Their voices are perfect - I especially loved the conversation on the phone in the car - pitch perfect.

Author's Response: I was just saying - I work really hard at making them sound just right and I love it when I find out that people think I've succeeded.  Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me so!

This was so sweet!  I love the Radar O'Reilly type communications and Pam & Jim's final conversation.  Great dialogue and very in character.

Author's Response: I try really hard to make sure Pam and Jim sound like themselves when I write them.  I'm so glad you think I've succeeded.  Thank you so much for the review!

The best part is that home isn't Scranton, or even their appartment. Home is that spot, curled up with your head on his shoulder and his arm wrapped around you just so.  These two fit together just like that. Lovely as usual.

Author's Response: This review sounds like the beginning of a fic.  I'm serious.  It's just lovely - as are you.  :)

Brillliant.  So glad to have this glimpse into what was going through Pam's mind when she nudged Michael to go to Nashua.  There were so many "what if's"in S3 -- and Pam wasn't the only one asking.  Nicely done, xoxoxo.

Author's Response:

Thank you.  :)  I loved the way S3 worked in retrospect - but I about tore my hair out wondering what was wrong with that girl.  What if indeed. Thank you so much for the review.  I appreciate it.

As a matter of fact, you are cool, Hugs ; )  Thanks for the Monday fix--another stellar installment.  I hang out around these parts for the insight of fine authors like you, my friend.  After all the miscommunication over the years, it is just beautiful to observe how in tune our favorite couple is.  Pam's soft spot for Michael has always been so endearing, and her reunion with Jim was just so cozy and loving.  Excellent, as always.

Author's Response: Aww.  Thank you!  I'm so glad you liked it (and think I'm cool too! I worry about that.)  I struggled with this - wanting to dredge up the past a bit but not make it seem like it was something to worry about.  I'm happy that came across.

It was better to know she lost to something real.

That seems true to Karen's character. I like this glipse of the "rest of the story" (and I'm very glad Karen is having her own happy-ever-after).

I think that fit in with what happened on the show perfectly. You nailed Karen's feeling towards seeing Michael and Pam IMO spot on!

I'm so glad you wrote this from Karen's POV - it gives me some Karen closure as well. She wasn't a bad kid, she just wasn't right for Jim. And it is better to lose to something real...
Well done.

Hiya, bashert!  What an incredibly pleasant surprise to have a visit from you as part of this wonderful summer project.  Nice to get into Karen's head for a bit, to read a fic about her and not hate her ; )

It was better to know she lost to something real. Great angle.  I guess I would feel that way, too.

Thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to visit any time you want.  You don't even have to call first :)
