I really liked this Roy perspective. Very well written and believeable. I also loved this paragraph - it was brilliant as Roy's thought process. I bet Roy liked Roadrunner cartoons a lot better than the Bugs Bunny ones.
This is the point where you realize that not reading the damn thing won’t make it disappear, won’t make its feather-light weight in your lap feel less like an anvil some psycho coyote dropped on your head. So your eyes scan the cream paper and maybe it’s not so bad.

So, I loved this. For several reasons. First, I love that song. Like a whole lot. Second, you mention the Steelers. AND I LOVE THE STEELERS. So you epically win for life.
And also, or third, I guess, I love the idea of Roy getting invited to the wedding. Heartbreaking, really, the line about him trying to stay on the wagon, and the fact that Pam was everything he wanted. Because poor Roy, he thought she was happy and she wasn't, and he lost his job and his girl and that blows.
Great job!

really enjoyed this story! It never occurred to me that Jim & Pam might invite Roy to their wedding but given how the last time that each of them saw Roy, it ended on a good note and like you wrote, a peace offering. My favorite part was the part about Roy feeling smug about his last meeting with Jim because when that was what I thought when I watched "Crime Aid". Great job!

that was great! i loved the way roy was angry, then realized that he could deal with it. that this invitation was a peace offering. i really could see that he way growing up, every so slowly, but surely growing up all the same.
and i also appreciate how this is a little on the mature side, a higher reading level than most stories on this site, but i think that's what set this apart. great job!
