oh my god that was incredible! i'm at a loss for words at how great that was.

so all i need to say is keep going - you better - and be on my way!

amazingly well done writing wise and in addition, there wasn't a single grammatical, punctuation or editing error either. WOW!

and congrats on your 25th story! this deserves a 25/10, too!

Author's Response: i toy with a pam's pov companion piece. we'll see if it happens, if it works. thanks on the congrats! unfortunately, there are definitely a few grammatical errors in there, that i've been too lazy to correct since a re-read after i published it. ah, well. lol

This was wonderful! Very true-to-character, and I don't think Jim comes off as too apprehensive. I think this level of apprehension is exactly right for his character, especially since he never says anything to Pam.

Author's Response: thank you! =)

First time to MTT in weeks, so I'm going to comment now while I have the chance.

Just a great story! I'm not a parent, but I have a feeling this is how I would be if I ever had to have a kid. Really good work!

Author's Response: thanks for the review. =) i'm not a parent either, so hopefully it resonates well with those that are, i guess. difficult stuff to write about!

yanana, I'm so excited about this, and Happy Anniversary! It seems like you've been writing for so long -- can't believe it's only been a year.

Anyhoo, I love, love, love this story. I've probably read it about four times. Jim-with-his-family fic is one of my bigger cups of tea, so bonus points for that. I love that you made his father sort of this imperfect fellow (I mean, Tom and Pete came from somewhere, right?) And I do imagine that Jim is closer to his mom than his dad. I'm glad that we finally got to see the "real" Halperts on the show, so that it's much easier to put faces to the writing, if you know what I mean.

I love your characterization of Jim in this story. It's great that he is insecure and imperfect, as so many fics just throw him up on this pedestal of wonder, and it's really not fair to the character (as we're kind of experiencing on the show right now, IMO) I think it's a very real fear, becoming a new parent. In fact, I know it's a very real fear, as I experienced it before I gave birth to my daughter earlier this year (kind of still experience it sometimes ;-))

I could go on and on, but just a great story. Please keep them up -- and you don't have to stop writing Pregnant!Pam when real Pam has the baby. It's the beauty of fiction, right?

You know, a companion piece from Pam's POV would be lovely. Just sayin'. I mean, it is almost Christmas. No pressure. :-P

Author's Response: thanks so much for the nice and log review. =) i agree about knowing what they look like, it's easier to write them with that picture, too. regarding the pam's pov piece -- i've been toying with one before this one was even complete, but i don't know how it's going to turn out. if it gets close to what i want it to be i'll end up posting it. we'll see. =) thanks again for reading and reviewing.

Wow. Just...
Wow.

Yanana this is the best thing you've ever written. Hell this is one of THE best things I've ever read on this site. You had me near tears through this entire, beautiful thing. My goodness girl.

First of all, what an excellent Jim voice you've got. I really believed I was listening to Jim Halpert talk about his life here. Secondly, just the way this is crafted is perfect. Never too much, and just the right punch of sweetness, and a flow that's perfect. Man this is good! Favorited.

Author's Response: lovefool thanks for such a nice review! =) this was so nice to find and read. i'm glad you think i've got jim's voice down. this is my favorite format to write in, first person, but it's kind of hard when you need to nail the voice. glad you think i did an okay job. thanks for always reading and reviewing. =)

I don't even have words. That was so wonderful. What amazing insight into Jim's head. I totally see Jim as being very scared about the baby even though he doesn't show it. This was perfect. You are a wonderful writer. I could totally picture all of this happening! :)

Author's Response: thanks so much! =) i'm glad you could picture it.

Happy one year anniversary :) I;m so glad you decided to start writing fanfics for the show, you are truly one of my favourite writers.

Hey, who says you have to stop writing pregnancy fics, there are no rules ;) I just hope you continue to write and write and write :)

Author's Response: why, thank you! ;) you guys are way too nice. i have to say thank you to you as well, you seem to take the time to review so many of my stories often, i really appreciate that! and i'm really thinking i'll have pregnancy/baby fic coming out of my ears for decades. i'm trying to get to work on something from season two-ish, once my WIP is done, but eh. this stuff is so much happier. =)

First things first--every Monday should start with a "new story" alert from one of my favorites : )  Yanana, you continue to astound me.  You're an old soul--a wise old soul.  One would think that you have a large shoe full of children based on the way you seem to intuitively understand this parenting thing.  I absolutely adore your Expectant/NewDad!Jim.  You have really captured his Jim-ness and converted it seamlessly into this new chap of his life.

This is when you first made my heart skip a beat:  One night, when I'm inside of her and it's slow, and I can tell it's just torture for her, I drop kisses on her eyelids and rest my face on her chest, listening to her breathe as I move. There was a chance that this would never happen, that I'd never marry her or see her like this or hear that we were having a baby. It's the most foreign thing to ever contemplate now, and she knows it, too, when we talk about it a few hours later. That thought is wonderful.  The aching, beautiful romance of those few lines just slays me.

I'm so certain that Jim's mom (and perhaps sister(s)) played a big part in his formation and development.  Nice to read about that here.  Also, now that we've actually seen what the parents look like, I'm better able to envision Jim's interactions with his mom and dad, and Pam's mom, too.  Speaking of Pam's mom, I present you with the second time my heart skipped a beat:  She says, I'm so glad I have you, Jim. Do you know my mom looked at you once and said, 'Pam, he'll never let you do anything alone.' Did I ever tell you that? I just pull her closer.  Guh.  That's so touching and sweet.

And Jim with his new baby?  Looking at squirrels?  But he reaches up and touches his palm to chin and smiles really big, and his eyes are so green. He's so damn happy about god knows what, and his hand just rests on my chin, then grips it, then looks at it like he found something. Then he's looking at me like, Hey, did you know this was down here? He thinks I'm the funniest person alive, so Pam tells me everyday. I can picture that so clearly.

Believe it or not, I'm reining myself in here.  I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture ; )

Author's Response: Wow, NanReg, what a wonderful review to wake up to. Thank you so much for your kind words. It always feels so great to get such a nice, long and appreciative review for something I really tried with -- I didn't know if I'd get certain points across with this fic. I'm glad you mentioned the things you did. And I'm so glad you could picture the end with Jim and the baby so clearly, because I wanted that to stand out so much. It's very clear in my mind, and it was a defining moment in my little story, so I'm happy that could come through. Your reviews are always such a joy to read. I sincerely thank you for always taking the time to tell me what you think, and I'm so glad you've enjoyed reading. =)
