Eeps! You had me worried about Pam at the end, but yay everything worked out just fine! I love how Jim was freaking out and Pam was completely oblivious to it. Never having given birth I wouldn't know from experience, but what you described sounded pretty realistic, and the final line of the chapter is just perfect. I hope you have a few more chapters of this story up your sleeve. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much Deedldee, I tried to keep it "believable." I just have a short epilogue planned, but I keep getting distracted. I hope to start on it soon. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

I haven't read/written an Jam fic for a while but The Delivery lured me back to this wonderful site and this is one of the first fics I came across. WOW. You managed a perfect balance between too much detail and too little, making it real enough that I spent the entire last chapter holding my breath, at least that's what it feels like.

Wonderful :)

Author's Response: Oh, thanks so much shootingstars. I'm glad you're back at MTT, and wasn't that episode great? I really appreciate the read and review! (please breathe now)

Great job. A very exciting story, but not too over the top with drama. Yay for baby Halpert!

Author's Response: Thanks very much 90lbgumby. Love your nic, BTW. And yeah, yay for the tiny Tuna!

Great job! I think you did a great job with Jim -- focusing on the details that would make him squeamish, and the ones that would make his heart just about burst. Jim would be so overwhelmed in this situation; you did a great job highlighting what he would be picking out. His response to Dr. Bressman's "How does she look?" was perfect! Great balance here. Glad you're giving us an epilogue for this one. And, god, I love that damn sock hat.

Author's Response: Thanks, yanana, for your comments. I wasn't at all sure about this chapter (am still not, I guess). Apart from the cliche problem, which I accepted from the beginning, I had trouble with how to show labor being tiresome without boring the crap out of the reader. I'm glad you thought it worked okay. I'm kind of attached to the sock hat as well. Ah well, the "real thing" is only a day away. I appreciate your taking the time to review!

That was intense! You do a good job of conveying the details without being gory, which I think would be a challenge. I particularly like how detached Pam is from Jim's panic- I would imagine that actually made it worse for him, because they are normally so in sync.  Great job! Again!

Author's Response: Thanks, nqllisi! I didn't want to make it too yucky, but on the other hand, if I didn't include details it wouldn't have been Jim's experience. Appreciate your read and review!

jazzfan....incredible!  Talk about feeling anxious....I was as nervous as Jim.  This was just so well done.  I'm looking forward to the epilogue.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your comments, Mr. Bill, glad you liked it.

Oh Jazz...this was SO GOOD! So many moments were just masterful here...first of all - first time I've ever read about the placenta.  I learned so much. ;-) This fic ought to be part of TLC's line up!  On a serious note though, when Pam began bleeding and Jim started to panic...I'm telling you my heart was racing. You SUCKED ME IN totally to the drama of that moment.

Then, when he had that single moment when he realized everything was ok and started to cry. OMG, I misted up too! It was instantaneous.

Great, great job. I'm so happy you're doing an epilogue!

Author's Response: Thanks LoveFool. I felt like the beginning to this was a bit slow and talky, but I didn't know how to set the whole thing up without showing how long and tiresome things were getting first. Does that make any sense? Anyhow, I'm glad you got sucked in and "misted." *grin* About the placenta. I was a bit concerned I'd gross people out, but then again, it's part of the process and Jim would have to deal with it. The epilogue may be somewhat anticlimatic, but I want to tie the whole thing up for them. Thanks again for your kind words.

This was PERFECT. I literally squeed when I saw you had updated lol. the descriptions were amazing and aw, I felt strangely proud of Jim and Pam.

Is it Thursday yet?

Author's Response: You think it's weird that you feel proud of Jim and Pam - I did too. Now that's weird. *snort* Thanks so much for the review Hannah_Halpert. Two more days. Two more days.

oh, one technical (ie: medical) thing... i have never seen a whitish placenta. they're more dark red. but other than that, the other medical stuff was spot-on! love it... i'm glad you're not the only one who went kind of into detail with a birth story... i did too. with both of mine.

Author's Response: Thanks, you are 100 percent right, Flonkerton Champ, I fixed it. I kind of got carried away with this, but once I started, I couldn't seem to pare it down. Thanks for your thoughts!

Wow!  I'm breathless!  What an amazing tale.  Not only did you have Jim holding a newborn (my favourite daydream), but Jim delivering the baby!  *swoon*

Seriously, though, you did a great job of creating suspense and telling the story though Jim's eyes.  I loved his moments of doubt and the way he pulled himself together.

I can't wait for the epilogue!

Author's Response: Thanks, Beeswax. The epilogue may be pretty anticlimatic, but I feel like I should say "what happened." Soon we'll know the real story though, yes? I can't wait to see the "real" version of Jim holding baby Halpert. Three more days. Argh.

roller. coaster.
I'm smiling the whole way through this, trying to hurry and read to see what happens next, then (I have my hands curled together by my mouth with excitement) I feel wetness on my hands. I swear, I didn't know I was crying! I cry at anything and everything, but usually you get a lump in your throat and you wipe your eyes, sniff, etc. but I was so wrapped up in the excitement, I just didn't realize tears were down my face.

I am SO happy you've decided to write an epilogue, cause as perfect in every way as this is, I just need more!

Author's Response: Wow, thanks Andastainonmyshirt. I'm glad it came across as exciting. (I'm pretty sure Jim could have used a little less excitement, though) I hope to add a short epilogue just for fun. I appreciate your taking time to read and review.

Author's Response: Gosh, pamelamorganhalpert, thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was concerned this had too much back and forth dialogue to really work, but I couldn't figure out how to eliminate much of it. Nice to know it worked for you.

jazzy, I'm ashamed to admit that I am a squeamish person (saw the opening part of the movie "Adaptation" and almost threw up) so I'm going to skip this latest chapter based on your notes. I prefer to think that a stork dropped off Baby Tuna :D

Just wanted to let you know...just once ;o) *groan* Sorry, not a good time for that quote.

Author's Response: Yes, bkwrm, I can confirm for you that a stork did indeed drop off Baby Halpert. Snow can't stop those storks. Thanks!

Wow. I just got totally sucked into this, so much so that I didn't review the individual chapters (sorry for that). Having just lived through the snowpacalypse, I had no trouble imagining the scene whatsoever (and snow IS heavy), but you really showed skill in building the tension and panic and urgency of the situation. I look forward to the rest!

Oh, and one last comment. You describe how Pam disappears into herself during her contractions- that was just beautifully pu. I remember feeling that way while I was in labor. Excellent detail.

Author's Response: Sorry I am late in responding to this - the email response thingy doesn't work anymore. I'm so glad you enjoyed this, and especially that you found Pam's reaction to her contractions believable. Thanks for your comments about the tension - I'm trying to work on improving pacing in my stuff, so it was fun to hear I might have gotten it right. I appreciate your reading and taking the time to review, nqllisi. (BTW, I love your stories - read them all - please write more)

I'm literally on the edge of my seat reading this! I love how Jim's being outwardly strong in front of her and internally he's freaking out. And, I really liked how he called her Beesly in this chapter, it was fitting. I've never had a baby before, but from the sounds of it, it sounds very realistic. Can't wait for the next chapter! And congrats on your ribbon! Well deserved. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much Deedldee, I'm glad you're enjoying the anticipation. That Beesly is for one of my betas, because it always makes her happy, too. I'm trying to stick as closely to reality as possible, since the whole idea is so "unlikely." That said, there is a snowstorm in Scranton at this very moment. Good timing, yes? I was really surprised about the ribbon. I'd like to thank my mom and dad, the mailman, my third grade teacher, my next door neighbor... *snort* Thanks for taking the time to review.

Just like Pam said, their timing always sucks, LOL.  Love this story.  Of course, in the end, they're both going to do just fine, despite the inexperience on both their parts.  And imagine how close they will feel, knowing they went through this humbling and powerful experience together.

Yes, everyone feels badly for poor nervous Jim, but damn, I remember delivering two kids without an epidural and it was no.fun.at.all.  I used to describe labor as "one long ass sucky day" to people.  I feel for Pam.  Get ready Jim, she's gonna lose it at the end, especially with the circumstances she's delivering under.

I love the little hat for Baby Tuna, awwww.  :)

Author's Response: Thanks EH, I'm hoping I can capture that closeness later in the story. Yup, Pam is going to have her moments in the upcoming chapter - can't say that I blame her. I had epidurals with both my boys but the second time it wore off and it was too late to give me more meds. Entirely different experience, it was. You did it twice? Glad you liked the BabyTunaTopper, and I really appreciate your comments.

“We can have this baby, Beesly, you and me.”

Yeah, kill me, why don't you?! I'm loving this fic. For all the -- really scary details of the reality of childbirth -- there's such sweet feeling here. That little sock hat is like a perfect metaphor. It's make-shift, it's comfy, and it's a bit alarming. And comforting, too, like a promise that everything will be alright.

Thank you for this! And please, don't leave us hanging for long. :)

Author's Response: Yeah, I thought Jim needed something positive to focus on to get him through this, and a hat might do the trick. I'll try to get this next one out - if only my family would stop demanding to be fed...*snort* Thanks a bunch, Peanut.
