You do such a good job in this fic capturing the voice and personality and likely choices of the entire ensemble - and in giving your Toby a sweet little bit of revenge. Funny, clever, and well written.

Ugh, keep writing Toby! Too great. Good job, lady.

Author's Response: Thank you. I think. What was the ugh for? But even though my fics remain mostly unread, I will keep on writing him. He's so interesting to me.

I'm a sucker for a good Toby story, and this one was great. Both funny and touching - I really enjoyed it!

Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I love writing Toby.

This is a really unique story and although Toby's passive aggressive tendencies usually bug the bejesus out of me, it really worked here.  I was actually getting a little worried for him near the end.  Everyone was treating him like crap and I thought Michael's insults would push him over the edge.  I'm glad you ended it with a smile.  Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you liked the ending. Unfortunately everyone always treats Toby like crap; I think if I was treated that way all day every day I might be passive aggressive as well.

Lovely. I like Toby stories, and this is a really good one. Everyone feels very in-character. Great contribution to the birthday cause!

Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

This was really great. Perfect combination of dark humor (my favorite kind) and poignancy.

Pam really does need to set some of her friends up with Toby. A nice woman who laughs at everything would do him a world of good.

The Meredith part made me laugh like a loon. Roadkill! Good one. You really got everyone's voices down so perfectly.

I have to wonder about the line up though... Yes, I think Toby would win. Pam has that soft spot for Michael, but she'd probably side with the underdog if it came right down to it.

I like the ending a lot. Toby's little revenge is so in-character for him, and while it's not an uplifting ending, it's somehow oddly comforting, if that makes any sense.

Lastly: "Pam wasn’t sure it was rational, but more than anything, she blamed Bob Vance for the transformation."

I would kind of have to agree, irrational or not. (And even though I don't totally hate feisty Phyllis.)

Anyway, great work, fantastic read. :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I agree about a nice woman just being what he needs. Pam needs to stop throwing women Michael's way. And Meredith is always fun to write. I don't hate feisty Phyllis either, but sometimes I find it a little much. Glad you enjoyed it!

Steph, I so love your style. It's always unique, and you write Toby so well. Actually, great characterizations all around in this fic. Meredith, in particular, had me laughing out loud. I would adore seeing Michael at his own Chuck E. Cheese b-day party :D Thanks so much for this. Great job, as always.

Author's Response: So glad you enjoyed it Birthday Girl! Meredith is always so much fun to write. Thank you for reviewing.

Ha! Steph, I love everything your stories choose to be. Your fascination with Toby is still a puzzle to me ;) but your voices for everyone are always so spot-on. And how much do I love Toby's passive-aggressive sabotaging of the decorations? A lot. A LOT. /Kevin

Well done, lady.

Author's Response: I can't explain it either. Something about the poor guy just inspires me to write in a way that other characters (such as Jim) do not. I know it makes my stories different and less-read and talked about, but I don't know. I still love writing him. Thank you for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
