This is great :) I'm married to a man very much like the Jim that y'all write (how lucky am I?), though not quite as verbal. He's wonderful, but ya know, no one is perfect - not even Jim! (Sorry). And I like you exploring this side of Pam, here, how maybe (maybe?) it's not all about Roy that their relationship became what it did. And I TOTALLY agree with whoever said that with the right woman, Roy could shine - I think that's true of everyone! The wrong person brings out the worst in you, the right person brings out the best. Anyway, great story, and nice diversion. I'll stop now :)

Author's Response: I think I'm married to one of the best guys in the world too but some days... It's just impossible for 2 people to mesh perfectly all the time. I thought no matter who Pam was with, it's possible if he was her one and only since high school she might get curious at some point about other men. And Roy could step it up if he had a woman who was less complacent. Thanks for your lovely review!

Well written (as yours always are) but I sure hope the next chapter - had there been one - would have started with Pam waking up with a start after having had the worst nightmare ever!

Author's Response: kaystar, since it's all done now, I'm just going to add your ending on in my mind and return to my happy Jam place! Thank you!

This is an awesomely intriguing idea. Distrubing yes. But still intriguing. Loved the way you pulled this off.

Author's Response: When nomadshan has an idea, it's usually a pretty decent one so I'm glad I could do it justice even though it's certainly not a popular way to go! Thanks!

Oh my lord - if you didn't write this so well, I might have to kill you. Banish the thought...sick of  Jim, NO!!! But seriously, I like how you considered the flip side of Jim's attitude towards Pam. Very original and written in a way that it had it's own reality. Even if it's a reality that I cannot condone. Well done all the same!

Author's Response: I know! I know! I'm a bad Jammer sometimes, but I really like to stir the pot a little! Then I can turn my back on the dark side for a while and recommit to the forces of good. Maybe I should have tried to add some pudding...

WRONG WRONG WRONG. NO!!!

Hee. I kid because I love. Seriously, I guess being the object of someone's adoration who pushes you do better yourself could get boring. I suppose. Maybe.

This is beautifully written and sounds so realistic it made me upset. Please- use your gifts for good and not evil next time!

Author's Response: OMFG, lis, I'm dying of laughter here! It wasn't my idea but I ran with it anyway. And mea culpa, mea culpa. My intention was not to upset you but I know, this is now my second strike with you (after Jim/Karen a while back) and there shall not be a third!!!!

I don't like backwards-land.  I'm scared...LOL

Author's Response: Kath, just close your eyes, click your heels and repeat "there's no place like the office, there's no place like the office". You'll be back in Jamland before you know it!

LOL! What a hoot! Role reversal! I love the image of Jim asleep with his hair sticking out in all directions. I always love TouseledJim (tm). And thanks for writing an attractive Roy; I don't think the guy's a complete lout. With the right woman, he might shine...

Author's Response: Mmm... TousledJim(tm) is a sexy Jim. Thanks NeverEnoughJam for joining me on my AU journey! (How should I shorten your name? Never? NEJ?)

believe it or not, I really like it.  As long as she realizes what she has before making a terrible (and I mean TERRIBLE) mistake!!

Author's Response: Thanks Moxie! Notice I could only stand having her explore other options, not actually go through with them! That may be a bit of a cop out but it's time to move on to some serious fluff now! How about some DL?

How interesting that Pam has taken on several of Roy's qualities here. I like the JimActs you've pointed out as annoying Pam. Nice!

Author's Response: Thanks shan. I guess in theory, perfection grows wearisome. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration and don't hate me even though I wussed out and included the disclaimer about this being your idea. "Give credit where credit is due" is my motto!

Oooh, ouch.  *Goes to find some Jam fluff*

(But seriously, good job with the annoyance factor.  I like how everything that bothered her about Jim was probably the opposite of what bothered her about Roy: the grass is always greener and all that.)

Author's Response: Right! I think Pam (and anyone really) who is in the only long-term relationship of her life might begin to have that "grass is greener" thought after a while. Without anyone else to compare him to, she might forget that Jim was perfect! Sorry about the "ouch" factor!

This is...really good.  Painful, but good.  (Honestly, my first thought was, "Oh my god, she's *Roy*!")

But the point is that you've really captured the idea that, in the eyes of the wrong woman, Jim would be really, really annoying.  The thin line between charming and irritating, perhaps.

Author's Response: Thanks Leely! I think it's realistic that no matter how perfect Jim is (and we all know how perfect he is) Pam can find fault when she wants to. But it was painful!
