This story was one of the hightlights of the summer for me. I loved how you added some things from the show but made this your own. I hope you are brewing up some more ideas.:)

Author's Response: Wow, thanks! I hadn't planned on it taking this long to finish this, but it pretty much spanned the entire summer. I was talking on the boards about my next idea and I'm planning it on now to see if it will work.

*stands and applauds* This entire story was so, so great! I have loved your incorporation of the events on the show into the events that you created, and this last chapter (sniff, sniff!) was no different. I was grinning like a loon at the end when the camera crew outed them. I thought your incorporation of Jim's BBQ was great too, I could see that snippet happen (and totally wish it DID happen on the show that way). This was a great story, thank you so much for writing it for us! I love the way you write, you have a great way of describing things so clearly that I can envision it all in my head and hear the characters speaking. I'm hoping that new idea you have comes to life and we all see it here soon! :-)

Author's Response: Aww, thanks for the standing ovation! I've said it before, but I'll say it again, thank you for your continued support of this story. I find my best chapters are the one's with elements from the show worked in so I'm glad you liked that, too. I'm starting to pre-write my next idea to see if I have enough to make it work.

What a sweet ending to a great story. This has been one of my favorites during the summer! I love the AU spin on things, and the way you got Roy out of the picture. This had a great plot and you're a really talented writer. Congratulations on finishing a story, it's quite an accomplishment! I hope to see something new from you soon.

Claire/p.m.h.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review, you are very kind. I love a good AU, and especially love it when there's elements from the show thrown in there. I have an idea for a new story, keep your eyes peeled!

So, we don't have to worry about Roy getting hired at his most recent interview.

I will miss your story once the final chapter is here. I get so excited to see you have an update...

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I'm glad you've enjoyed the story.

Wow! I did not see Roy coming back into the office like that! And thank god for Dwight's pepper spray! I love sarcastic Jim and the blow up doll, and I love how you worked these two instances, the Negotiation and Sexual Harassment scenes into this so perfectly. Pam talking so strongly to Roy and not faltering was just perfect for her, I know I keep saying this, but I love how strong she is. I have to laugh at how dolt like Roy is, I can really see him acting this way, trying to win her back like that. I definitely can't wait for the next update! I can't believe there's only one chapter left! I hope you have something else planned when you're done with this one.

No apologies necessary! I'm glad you were able to update this! =)

Author's Response: Thank you for all of your wonderful reviews and your constant support of this story!

Nice job, Blue! I like the idea of Jim finally getting to talk to Pam's mom instead of slinking back to his desk :)

Author's Response: Thank so much, Nan! Every once and while, you've got to throw poor Jim a bone!

Aww, the date was wonderful. I enjoyed the exchange of embarrassing childhood stories and how, instead of heading home to deal with the headache that is Roy, Pam had Jim take her to his place for additional quality time.

I look forward to whatever you have coming up next for them!

Author's Response: Thank you for your review. I was really nervous about writing the first date so I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, nice first date. I love how Jim can't help but kiss her! So happy that Roy didn't ruin it. I am excited to see what direction you take this. Thanks for those two great updates and so quick!

That boy jumping out of the shed sounds terrifying and horrible! You poor thing (and poor Pam too!) Their date was lovely! Their blushing and his leaning over and kissing her, so adorable. Perfectly them. I really loved it so much, their simplicity and that they can talk all through dinner and still have more things to say. I really love Jim wanting to take things slow and not being 'that guy' and instead taking her home. I also adore the little Diversity Day moment, and that Pam's mom is coming to visit at the office! I can't wait to see what happens when they meet! More please.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I think you've reviewed every chapter and that means a lot! That boy jumping out of the shed was the worst! Why do you think I still remember it 24 years later and I still remember his name (it really was Robert, as it was in the story.) The next chapter is up, so make sure you check it out!

Love how strong Pam was with Roy and I like the way she realized his gesture with the dinner was just a momentary thing and he would just revert back to the way he used to be if they got back together. I love that she reassured Jim that she wanted to let Roy down easily and that she did want to go on their date. I also got a good laugh out of Jim's dad telling him that if he ever honked his horn for his date to come to the car, he wouldn't be let out of the house till he was 30. I broke up with a guy once for doing that to me - he honked his horn in the driveway, and it was pouring rain too. I swear some men are just pigs. But not our Jim! Anyways, I'm off to click that beautiful "next" button!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. And, haha about the horn honking, my parents were the same way. Fortunately, none of my dates never did that!

Oh wow! :::sigh::: You left me satisfied and smiling! Seriously, sorry I haven't popped in and reviwed before this, but I adore this story. The entire premise that the story is built on, Pam and Roy being finished before she came to D-M and met Jim, therefore all the feelings they had for each other from the start never needed to be repressed and they are able to proceed with a romantic relatioship without the situation. You added a lot of realism to the story by introducing Roy, who is a mess and expecting Pam to both be a pushover and to fix him, to the story. I loathe Roy admit but I really admit that the way you are using him makes this story very real. I RESLLY hope though that Pam A. lets Roy know that they won't be having a romantic meal that next day or any other day and B. keeps to her word and doesn't let Roy stay a day past 2 weeks. I'd really like to see her tell him that she let him stay so he could pull his life together, get a job and whatnot and if he's going to drink and/or sit around the apt all day, not taking advantage of the time to pull his life together, he's going to have to go right away. While Roy may have upset his family members, that still doesn't even make him Pam's responsibility. I think it's sweet of Pam to give him a chance, shows what a caring person she is and I thought it was neat that Jim was able to see past how much he didn't want Roy to be staying with Pam, let's face it, this would be about one of the WORST circumstances to start a new relationship in, but I love how Jim is keeping himself in check. It helps that Pam is very clear and direct with Jim, letting him clearly know that she wants HIM (who wouldn't?? ) I also like how when Jim had doubts because of Pam telling Roy that she was going out with people from work, he told her rather than letting it fester in his mind. Then it was great that rather than making something up, she was honest telling him about Roy's romantic gesture. I actually agreed completely with the way she handled things.

I really REALLY like this Pam and Jim and while they ARE different and that makes them seem a bit OOC, they still come across as being really very much in character. Just PLEASE PLEASE don't let Roy screw up the beautiful relationship and the trust they are building!

Thank you for all the quick updates to this. It's one of my favorite current WIPs and I get restless waiting for the updates! Great job, please keep it coming! There is SO much more sroey that can be told on this one!

Author's Response: Thank you SO much for your lengthy review! I figured I had to throw Roy in there because it can't ever be easy for Jim and Pam, right? And I really cannot stand Karen so I went with Roy as my road block to happiness, so to speak. It means a lot to me that you think they are different, yet still somewhat in character. I think a lot of what drove their characterization seasons 1-3 was Pam being with Roy, so without that, they are different people. I was watching "Hot Girl" the other day and Jim was so coinfident and charming when asking Katy out. I like to think that's how he would have been with Pam if it hadn't been for Roy.
