Despite the canon angst, Benihana Christmas may just be one of my favorite episodes. This was such a lovely redo of it. Having Karen move in with Mark was definitely unexpected, but I really like it. It’ll be great when Pam and Jim find a place too!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad I could please a fan of it :)

Nice spin on the CIA prank, I liked that.

I liked the contrasting perspectives on Jan there, something that we never get to see directly addressed, so nice to see that here.

I'm also thankful for friend Karen, maybshe live long and prosper.

Author's Response: Thank you! I appreciate your attention the details :)

Nice way to incorporate your new AU with some canon elements. It's nice to see Karen as a friend here.

Even more fun that Jim could be a part of the fun planning the CIA prank rather than just coming in at the tail end of it.

Hopefully the Jim and Pam living together thing resolves fairly soon. I'm sure Izzy would like to have her couch back. Unless Pam's spending most nights at Jim's place, which is also feasible.

Author's Response: Thank you! I believe the next chapter will resolve it--and I agree, that's a long couch-surf.

Oh, wow. I'm not sure, but... did Karen just gave them her blessing? Or, at least, it was how I felt reading that moment...
I hope their apartment hunt would be successful!

Author's Response: That is how I wrote it; she doesn't have any reason to be jealous in this storyline. Thanks for the review!

It’s so strange and so very nice to have a Karen that has absolutely no history with Jim, not even mere acquaintances from Stamford. I like it. I like that it gives Pam the opportunity to branch out into friendship with Karen on her own terms.

Author's Response: Right? It's a very different dynamic since she meets them at the same time. Thanks for reading!

Okay so this time it wasn't a co-worker who looked at me strange when I burst out laughing. It was my wife. I'm not sure which one is better or worse. It was the hydrochloric and sulfuric acid line that did it in case you want to know. I love those more intellectual type jokes you manage to put in. Keep 'em coming.

Good interaction with Karen. Looks like a nice setup for a good friendship between them.

Author's Response: Hah! Thank you; I will endeavor to keep them coming.

I'm excited that we might get to see Karen and Pam as friends here! Nice change. Also nice to see Jim take charge with the arrival of the transferred employees. Hopefully he can keep Michael from forcing that poor man to get onto the table in the conference room...
Looking forward to whatever might be next!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I think in this world Michael has slightly different thoughts about the incoming people since Jim isn't one...

Such a lovely chapter! Another unfulfilled (and unbearably painful) heartbreak - the coffee one - was fixed. Thank you for that!
I hope they'll both find a friend in Karen in this universe.

Author's Response: Thank you!

The Diwali fix-it was perfect. A lovely balance of Michael and Kelly too. Not to mention all the nods to Casino Night.
“Yeah, if we don’t go Michael will probably do something stupid.” This was great. You took a canon moment and didn’t even include it and somehow still made it work. I laughed.

I love that in light of the Stamford news you have them keen to move in together.
“He grinned down at her. “Now, as your ARM, I have to say, your attitude towards your job needs some work.”
“Oh, suck it Halpert.” This is so, so fun. He’s still very much Jim, full of light and fun and far, far less Season 3 angst. Their dynamic here is so sweet.

Karen as a friend is definitely a concept I can get behind!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad this is all working for you still now that we've left your country ;)

I really liked the thoughts going on in Pam's mind. Also nice to bring in the questions from Izzy and her mom. They have legitimate concerns after all. However they're also unaware of that purchase Jim made back in Australia so there's that.

To have a Karen as a friend rather than rival could be fun. Especially since she is willing to join in on the occasional prank. That raises all sorts of possibilities. Great update as usual.

Author's Response: Thank you! I think it's important to change that relationship because it has so much potential.

Friend Karen is best Karen, looking forward to that! Let's just hope she gets that Jim is taken, that Halpert charm can cause collateral damage sometimes!

I enjoyed the introductions, great tongue in cheek there, and manager Jim strikes again.

Looking forward to Michael's disaster of a plan!

Author's Response: Thank you! I will work on Friend!Karen.

A sweet update! The last chapter and the dress was just amazing. Jim's reaction was so perfect to that. I hope you have them move in together! :)

Wow, so many happened here! I need a list:
1) First of all - they are ready to move in together! That's so great and sweet at the same time (well, the emotional part of myself was saying they should have done it months ago... but that part rushes things too often).
2) The way Pam and Jim revealed their relationships to the coworkers - lovely and awkward at the same time. Kelly is typical Kelly, and I like her for that!
2.1.) I probably do it every time I see that moment in the stories (even if it wasn't planned intentionally and was completely born out my imagination) and probably won't be tired of it, but... poor Toby.
3) I like that Pam finally spoke to Roy and that he reacted quite well - you're much kinder to their broken connection than I am. It's sad a little to watch the sufferings others, especially when you're the reason for it... but I'm glad that Pam could deal with it without feeling guilty.
4) Jim got a promotion! Yay for that!
5) Ryan is finally out of the picture! Double yay for that!
I'm full of anticipation to see what happens next :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I realize I did a lot here, so I appreciate the comprehensive response!

I love the way their relationship was announced to the office, Kelly with her all seeing relationship eyes. And I love that Jim and Pam are moving in together, and that even if they weren’t moving away, Pam still wanted it.

Author's Response: Thank you! I find Kelly a very useful plot device for this kind of thing ;).

Well now, that's a bit of a turn to be sure. I'm not complaining in any way. I do like that we're staying with the main S3 story lines, but of course things are just shifted with Jim still around and of course with him and Pam together.

Jim's nervousness about asking her to move in with him felt very real. Also that "wait what," was another great moment. Very fitting for the relationship they've developed thus far. Not afraid to take big steps with each other. I like it. Same at the end there with Pam saying it doesn't matter Stamford or Scranton she still wants to move in with Jim.

Great use of Kelly to have the reveal that they're together. That was kind of fun.

I've been kind of wondering about Roy for this entire fic to be honest. Especially since the return from Australia. Nice move on Pam to avoid the Chicken or Fish pleading eyes of Roy there. Her going down to tell him in no uncertain terms that there's no chance of them getting back together also shows her growth. She's not afraid of the hard conversations anymore. She doesn't have to like them, but they are necessary. Also her realization that Roy needs to deal with his own emotions. Another good way to show how she's changed for the better.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're liking the S3 arc I'm writing here. I figured dealing with Roy comprehensively was the best solution; I think this Pam wouldn't be up for his sympathy-pulling tricks, so that is how I wrote it.

This chapter had a great emotional arc, the dip of the branch closing, high of moving in, low of telling Roy, and eight back to ending on a high. Always an enjoyable read, good work!

Author's Response: Thank you! I realize I did put a lot on one chapter, so I'm glad that worked for you!

Love that they are getting a re-do in the periwinkle dress and sweater. Sweet.
Thanks for writing!

Haha nice ;)

Another fantastic chapter, I love the reminders from Casino Night, how Jim reacts to Pam’s dress and Pam to his jumper. It’s all so powerful for them, I love it

Author's Response: Thank you! I think if they're as important as they are for us, they'd have to be more for them right?

First of all, I love the graphic for this story in the description. Good job there.

I really like that Jim is there to reign in Michael a little and try to keep the meeting on track. He and Pam are also looking out for Kelly's feelings again and it's lovely to see.

Does the office know they're dating yet? The only reason I ask is because if not, I can easily see Roy showing up to the Diwali party, seeing Jim and Pam in the fancy duds and slinking away even more than we see in canon.

Speaking of fancy duds, another way to fix Casino Night. I really like it when they pull out those outfits and get it right. There's a few stories out there like that and they're always a lot of fun. This is no different. Great job as always.

Author's Response: Thank you! I worked hard to crop and type on that picture...but more importantly to find it. And you will find out how out they are in the coming chapter, in fact. Thanks for the insight and the review!

It's so much fun to look at the S3 episodes with Jim and Pam together! So much is really affected by his absence. Kinda like It's a Wonderful Life, in a way, you know?
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think Jim in Scranton would be a great help--as you will see in these chapters. I agree--very George Bailey. Thanks!

I caught myself on forgetting that moment in the show and desiring to rewatch the episode but remembered on time that there wouldn't be holding hands, and Jim would be in Stamford, and there would be a shadow of Karen somewhere, so... I'd rather reread this chapter again :)

Author's Response: Well, I have never had higher praise. Thank you!
