Girl -
Damn..
From the title, I’d guessed that it was a breakup story or a season 3 story. And when I did start to read, the writing was so beautiful that I couldn’t stop.
That smut came out of nowhere and totally caught me by surprise, but in a good way. I remember when I thought that I was good at writing smut a few minutes ago. Bloody hell. That was some steaminess if I’ve ever seen it.
But, again, as much as I love me a good smut scene, I have to say that the post-coital thoughts were my favorite. “ Because although they really feel quite secure at this point, there’s still that lingering sense that it’s all too good to be true. That one day they might wake up and realize that it had all been a dream, or worse, that it hadn’t, and it was over anyway”. I mean - what do you even say to that? I’ve had many things seem to good to be true and turned out so, perhaps that’s why this little quote sticks with me.
Anyways, I just stopped to say that this story is absolutely gold. I’ve loved all of these little holiday themed stories, but this one is by far my favorite.

Author's Response: Oh my goodness, you are too kind! It always means a lot to me when people point out specific lines that they like, and I'm glad that one stuck with you. Thank you so much for reading!

So really there's only one word to describe this. Perfection. I mean that's it. There was humor, heart, laughter, teasing, banter, hijinks, but most of all love. The kind of Valentine's Day they both deserve and have needed for years. Seriously, this is just the best. Bravo. Bravo. Bravo.

TPB. Wow. I needed a minute before I could review. This was top tier. Jim surprising her in the morning was adorable. I love how she jumped off of him for waffles. Amazing. And then the office antics were perfect. of course any would send a singing telegram, only to want to join in. And Kelly asking about Ryan even tho she's with Darryl is SO funny and SO perfect. And then Pam jumping Jim in the entryway UGH. But THEN. THEN. You have Jim lavish Pam in the bedroom and you have the line "But she knows that he gets like this sometimes. He wants to remind himself that he finally gets to be with her after all those long years apart, to show her the love she deserves and to show her just how damn lucky he is, and to allow them both to see just how perfect they are together." I'm never going to recover from this. and then Pam riding Jim? I think I died. "Come on, come for me, Jim." Dead. It was nice knowing you. And then their second time being slower and more gentle, because OF COURSE it is. They need to just love each other now that they've had their fun. I love that Jim had a batman wallet in middle school. Obviously he did. What else did I expect? And then Jim giving Pam ski resort tickets is so good. I love how excited she is, even tho she knows she's probably going to be on the bunny slopes all day. You can tell she's excited just because she gets to spend two days with Jim. "Oh, well, in that case" killed me. Idk how since I'm already dead, but it killed me all the same.

this was beyond amazing. I have no words besides all the ones I just typed. I can't think straight right now.

PS. Because although they really feel quite secure at this point, there’s still that lingering sense that it’s all too good to be true. That one day they might wake up and realize that it had all been a dream, or worse, that it hadn’t, and it was over anyway.

kill me.

TPB! You innocent bean, you WROTE THIS?! Holy guacamole! Okay where to start?
The breakfast is perfect, them being late on Valentine’s Day fits so well.
*She couldn’t remember the last time she had gotten a “good” Valentine’s Day present.* PERFECTION.
The whole smut sequence was just *AMAZING* and their gifts...
Poor Jim, he just wants to propose!

SO GOOD!

I'm crying...Bean... this was amazing. One, this was sweet as heck. Two, you captured the office SO WELL. Three, Jim and Pam....ugh. Adorable is an understatement. So many times I wanted to cry at how freaking beautiful this was. I loved it!

“But she knows that he gets like this sometimes. He wants to remind himself that he finally gets to be with her after all those long years apart.” This was perfecttttt.

“Her mind spins slowly, unraveling in a figurative breeze that takes her up through skies and oceans and constellations, yet never taking her from his side.” Just...I...

It was so sweet and hot and amazing. I loved it so, so much. I love how much you can tell they love and adore each other. Sooo good.

Aly! This gave me all the Christmas feels. Pam and I are very similar in what we like to do this time of year—I spent an hour looking at lights last night!—and I loved their Christmas Eve activities so much. You write them both really well and it was a joy to read. And then the story about the necklace and the redo poker chip!! Just eff me up, why don’t you. Great job!!

Couple things I really liked about this:

-The idea that with Jim Pam feels the freedom to be a little silly. The fun of this is such an important part of their relationship.
-The contrast with Roy just flat-out not being willing to entertain a sense of child-like wonder at the winter.
-Jim declining to speculate about Dwangela while off the clock. I do think they all seem a lot more involved in each other's lives because that's what the documentarians are interested in, and it seems very right to me that Jim in particular isn't invested enough in them to expend much energy on them in his personal life.
-The good balance of teasing and fondness and sexiness, and how it alters once they're out of the office
-That this is about contentment, along with excitement.

Very good chapter!

You probably already know what I’m gonna say:
KARMA SUTRA?! YES! I love that Pam has that, and that Jim messes around with her involving that.
Beth this was AMAZING! The concept, the dialogue, EVERYTHING d84;a039;

MAROON. SWEATER. JIM.

*swoon*

I adored this. I loved their interactions in the office. It was so easy to picture and I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time.

And then the coziness of them at her apartment was peeeeeerfect. So wonderful. I love them. And you for writing them so well.

Glad they got back to Pam's safely. Also good job Pam getting an apartment with a fireplace. Love the image of them curled up like that, surrounded by blankets and then surrounding each other. Also clearly they're not afraid of the past anymore. Nice they can have a discussion about it and then just move on. Shows their relationship is on solid ground.

Otherwise this is warm, loving, and cozy.

BETH! This was amazing. From their looks and teasing in the office which just made me smile like an idiot, to Michael's meltdown which had me cracking up. Then driving home and Pam's thoughts as she drove. Ugh. And then Jim joins her and they cuddle and share secrets and "stay warm" my heart can't handle it. This was a perfect addition to our little collab. Ugh, its so good.

Author's Response: Aw, thank you!!! Michael's meltdown was so funny to write and I could picture him losing his mind so easily! I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

Beth OMGGGGGG this was so good! I loved the beginning at the office. You really captured the kind of busy boredom of working in an office, something we get on the show all the time. Jim and Pam flirting was, of course, adorable and so fun to read.

And then when they're all cozied up at home together? I didn't know what was going to melt first, my heart from the sweetness or my computer from the steaminess. "Lumberjack Jim" was such a perfect line as well. You crushed this, girl.

Author's Response:

Lumberjack Jim was easily my favorite part of this chapter. Just add it to the collection of the "type of Jim's" we see on here haha. I'm glad you liked it though! Thanks for your nice review!

I finally got to dive into Ultimate - lots of stuff kept me from it until now but glad I finally started it.

What a lovely vision of a first Thanksgiving together. The office part - a very Michael thing to do.

You provide some insight on what Pam ever saw in Roy - maybe a bit of her own dad. That explains A LOT. Nice touch.

I see Pam all about the holiday music too - and what is it about Last Christmas that is both so representative of radio-played holiday music and yet so IMHO slightly off-putting. I mean I have it on my holiday playlist but I am somewhat fatigued by it too and Jim - nope, not for him.

Really nice end with the wishbone.

THE BLACK VELVET BOX. UGH. OKAY. That was sweet as can be and took a completely different turn than I expected at the beginning.

Kelly walking in on them absolutely killed me. And then she doesn't know it was them?! Incredible.

11/10 writing here because I was rolling the entire time.

Also, EM Christmas is over.

They just can't escape the vortex of crazy that is Michael Scott can they? Fun chapter to be sure. Pam being mortified on the couch, Jim losing Ping-Pong based games to Dwight, almost getting caught in the bathroom. Helluva night to be sure.

Though those last paragraphs. Damn Jim. You got yourself some stamina! I don't blame Pam at all for crashing like that. Well done.

Great job.

This was very cute!

Jim having spent years making New Year’s resolutions to get Pam is 100% canon. And of course he still gets a giddy thrill from Pam’s head dropping onto his shoulder.

It’s so very in-character for them to want to do this night quietly, and to by virtue of Pam’s kindness ending up spending much of it care-taking Michael’s feelings.

The choice of cinnamon candy whiskey was a good detail… but that Jan encounter BURNS. A lot. Poor Michael.

The party was just a lot of fun – at least for those of us who got to read it and not attend. Obviously drunk Michael is going to have zero boundaries about bringing the office into his very private business, and obviously Jim and Pam are going to need to get drunk to get through it all. (I’m also glad that you let Dwight win one – he needed that beer pong W a lot more than than Jim does at this point in Season 4).

What a way to end 2007 for these guys – thanks for sharing it with us.

ugh Em this was so good!! You captured Michael perfectly. I also loved the Jan moment in the liquor store! That was perfect! The party was amazing, and their little adventure in the bathroom was hot. I loved this chapter!

Okay first of all, your Michael is so spot-on that it's not even funny. Except it is incredibly funny. Michael Scarn, the porno, Pam-esan cheese, the throwing up, all of it is so very Michael. I love that Dwight is spending the night and that he brought the ingredients for Sauerkraut. If that isn't Dwight and Michael, I don't know what is.

And then the steam... whooooo baby! I love how affectionate they are with each other, even when they are plastered and too... worked up to be overly sweet. "Where are your hands going?" Kill me. ;)

“Legs.” OOOP EXCUSE ME.

Em, this was so good! You nailed all the characterization and the ending was really so sweet. Oh, and I love the addition of Hunter because we *all* know THAT was happening.

Haha that was so fun! Great job,

Oh Aly, both of these chapters are super cute! I think you have a great style writing their easy interactions and have their voices down perfectly. I love all these simple holiday scenarios in this chapter that you have made *so* very them.

“Yeah, we worked out.” --Perfect!

All of this is super cute and I love every bit of it. I am 100% in favor of Pam being the kind of lady who is all things Christmas and wants to start everything as soon as Halloween is done. She's just adorable in her enthusiasm for everything. I also love that Jim is right there with her. He's clearly not as invested as she is, but he's also caught up in her joy and in the joy of being with her. It's wonderful to imagine them with each other like this.

The list of activities is wonderful. Getting to redo the ice skating was a great image. Same with the baking and gingerbread house. I have no doubt Pam's side is a lot neater, but it's the fun that counts in the end. Jim taking her out to look at late night lights is just the kind of thing he would do for her. Love it.

The presents are wonderful too. A bit of a gag gift with the kiddo art supplies, because lets face it, pranks and teasing are a part of who they are. Jim getting help from the Doc crew for Pam's gift is also lovely. Wonder where I've read that before. Kidding of course. Great minds just think alike is all. The redo of Casino Night is the icing on the Gingerbread House. Getting the lines and feelings right this time is always a fun thing to imagine.

This was just a ton of fun reading Jim and Pam enjoy Christmas together. No angst, no heartache, just joy and love. Beautiful.

Boy, Roy has really set a crushingly low bar for Jim to clear, hasn't he? Poor Pam. Although really, he should have adopted Jim's strategy of distracting her from her Christmas excitement.

Pam is just blindingly cute in this fic. Jim is clearly falling in love all over again. And I *love* the Michael's Birthday callback/backstory.

The gift-giving scene is adorable (and I like that you worked a prank in there! Feels very much like something Jim would do). The backstory to the heart pendant is incredibly sweet, a really nice touch to this. And who doesn't love a good Casino Night redo!!!

JUST SO WHOLESOME. every element of this fixes something some beautifully and yet seamlessly, right from Pam getting to unapologetically celebrate Christmas, to Jim being able to give her the pendant and them making it work, to the beautiful redo. Loved it.
