Excellent comparisson. You really get as to why Jim is better for Pam. He wants to be involved in the things of her life. Not just sit back just say, "that's fine babe," and blow her off. I've always thought that men need to step up and take an active role in their weddings. It's not just about the bride. It's about two people coming together which means the groom should have some input too. Really glad to see Jim taking the initative in that regard. Pam seems to respond really well to it too. Great one-shot.

Author's Response: Yes!!! Most of the problems with Pam's relationship with Roy was that he didn't actually care about her life or opinion, Jim was always the one she went to when she needed to vent or have fun. I always found his lack of involvement in the wedding the epitome of that part of their relationship

Awww, man. I really like this.

This is definitely a conversation that was missing from canon - we see so little of the planning for Pam and Jim's wedding, and it feels like at some point they should've acknowledged more directly that this is the second time Pam has planned a wedding and last time Jim had a front row seat, and given us a glimpse of what it might feel like for him to be involved and having the dream he was dreaming last time become real, and for Pam to actually have a fiancée who wants to help/get married. They make a joke or two, but I love having someone talk about what it might be like emotionally.

It does make sense that given that experience, both of them really want to go through the whole rigmarole and have that moment together. It's cute.

The first line is great - and totally something Jim would've thought at some point post-Booze Cruise.

(I also wanted to highlight the line about Jim not liking who Pam is when she's around Roy - that's an interesting idea, well worth exploring if you have a mind to.)

Author's Response: Oh my god, this is one of the sweetest reviews I've ever received. Thank you so much for your insight and opinion,  totally agree <3
