I love (and can relate so much) to Pam's agonising over the texting and the punctuation - I can also totally see her doing this. I think the last line might be my absolute favourite. (Also her eating a ham and cheese!) And I really like the small step in her growth of her starting by redecorating her room, and that sort of emboldening /distracting her enough to throw herself into texting Jim. Greatly looking forward to Jim's reactions!

Author's Response: Texting is hard! I'm glad that you find the character growth, slow as it is, meaningful enough to mention!

Again... I'm consistently amused by Pam's voice in this fic. Her increasingly detailed breakdown of her to-do list and her texting angst are both spot-on.

I really liked the image of the spots and screws and nails left behind - meaningful and easy to picture.

(I will also freely admit to texting like Pam. Good copy editing is important.)

Author's Response: Thank you! I am having a lot of fun just playing with how I want this Pam to think, so I'm glad it's coming across well. And the things on the wall is actually taken from my own experience, so I'm extra glad that came across!

I can't help but admire how meticulously Pam is redecorating her room.
And yes, texting is the worst (this whole line is lovely, btw!)
Very curious to see Jim's reaction... I have a vague suspicion that he might be a little freaked out with Pam's absence... and maybe a little relieved with her message... but I can't say for sure, of course :)
Thank you!

Author's Response: Thank you! I like a meticulous Pam--it fits nicely with overthinking-but-impulsive Jim, which I also like.

Time for a little reinvention on Pam's part. I'm here for it. Who knows how long she'll be in her room at her parent's place, but while there, yeah Pam, make it your own. Point to you. The impact wrench along with the all the note taking outline type stuff was enough to get a side-eye from my partner as we drive back from a transfer here at work. Well done you.

Pam freaking about about the texting was a lot of fun too. "What am I seventy?" Maybe not but she's also kind of acting like a teenager with a crush. Of course she does have a crush on Jim so there's that too. Regardless it's all adorable.

Can't wait to see what Jim makes of all this.

Author's Response: Thank you! She hasn't quite decided what she wants next, but one of the growths I'm looking for for her is realizing that she doesn't need a plan to make things better NOW...
