Oh, poor Jim. I love pretty much every moment of Dwight in this (but especially his treatment of the other customers and somehow hearing Jim's phone), and that just 'Dwight' is the final thing on Jim's list of bad things. Although the dairy-free whole milk conundrum also cracked me up. And then Jim getting the tea and getting sad over wanting to mention things to Pam - and his happiness at the end - is so sweet. Also, close one with the archiving the conversation! I just love the way you've written both their sides of this, her agonising and his giddiness just that she's texted (and no sign of thinking the multiple exclamation marks are demented, obviously).

Author's Response: Thank you! I am so glad you like the back and forth. I was a bit worried when I added Jim's POV in this fic that it wouldn't work, so glad the dynamic is functioning still :)

Poor Jim... but it was adorable that Dwight brightened Jim's day before Pam's message.
Also, aww!
And immediately to the next chapter :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I find Jim's fond annoyance with Dwight from early seasons fun to play with.

There's something very Jim about appreciating Dwight when Dwight is the familiar in a sea of difference.

They have tea and Pam's not even there. Talk about no ethical consumption under capitalism. Poor Jim. Don't worry, buddy. Things are looking up.

Author's Response:

Jim and Dwight's relationship is special and unique and he's annoyed by it but he'd miss it so much.

And there will definitely be a whole chapter later around an ethical consumption under capitalism joke, I promise.

Perfect timing Pam. To be able to raise Jim's spirits like that when he's having a horrible day is wonderful. We've all had those kinds of days where everything is rolling downhill and you're just begging for any ray of sunshine. Her texts to him were that sun breaking through a layer of gray clouds. Still loving how they can affect each other like this even when they're apart. Great job as always.

Author's Response: They're really connected, even though they don't necessarily realize it fully yet :) Thanks for the review!
