I have just started reading all your stories. THANK YOU!!  Beautifully descriptive! Rips my heart out, and I can see all this happening in my head.  I can never get enough of these two, and I LOVE it all, even when the angst makes me wanna cry.

Are we going to get anymore updates on this one?  I'm dying for more.....

Author's Response:

Wow!  Thank YOU.  :)  I have to admit to abandoning this one because there didn't seem to be much interest in it (and I was working on other things at the time in which a few people did express an interest in, wanting updates, that sort of thing).  That said, if the inspiration for this one hits me again, I'll definitely come back to it, because I really would love to explore a lot of what we didn't get to see in season three.

Anyway -- thank you so much for your thoughtful review!

maybe he'd just been the catalyst that brought her to the realization that Roy wasn't the man she wanted to be with - the catalyst, nothing more.

Ooooh, poor Jim. I always thought it was probably Phyllis who told him, too- Phyllis or Kevin. The line I quoted reminded me forcibly of something I read in an interview of Jenna's, and I hate that interview. Hee. Love this, love the tension, love the subtle ways you remind us of everything between and around these two. LOVE!

Thank god for the S3 finale, or this would be cruel and unusual punishment. Because it's that wrenching - and that's not easy to do with words on a page. I love their parallel requests that the camera guys edit out their comments about each other. And tying it back in with his actual GWH line And you can't beat that view...right?  Just made that scene even more poignant than it already was (which was  alot.)  And the end, when he gets his hopes up, then is heartbroken all over again is so heartfel and true.  Just really powerful, finely detailed writing, as usual, girl7!

Oh wow.... I really love how you have the parallel between Jim and Pam at the start.  How their lives are separate, but still very much heading in the same direction.  And Jim's discovery that Pam was back at the office?  Heartbreaking. An amazing fic- I always just love your interpretations of what went on "away from the camera" (heh- why did that sound in my head like the voice from Days of Our Lives...?)

Yeah, I'm gonna need a bigger box of kleenex. *cries*  Oh, girl7 how do you make me feel this?  You just get right down in that sticky swamp with Jim until we're all just pruney from the angst.

I hate you. [/pam]

Ow.  I don't know how you managed to squeeze more angst out of GWH, but you did.  If we didn't get the finale we did, I don't think I could have read this.  Oh, Pam, I'm still hurting for you.

To hell with adult content warnings, what MTT needs is a kleenex warning:

Content is only suitable for mature adults, or those who can endure fictional characters making poor judgments over, and over, and over... May contain incredibly well written evocative language and adult themes of ordinarily reasonable people acting like knuckleheads because they fail to recognize the obvious fact they.are.in.love.  While reading it is not advisable to operate heavy machinery, nor project your personal life experiences onto these fictional characters. Estimated kleenex use: 2 - 3. (may vary)

But seriously...  amazing writing, as per usual.

"But hey - there's always email. And, you know, that...IM thing, right?"

Dude. Did you read my journal from 1997? Because, seriously, I've fucking HAD that conversation. *wince*

When the door closed behind him, the sound reverberated off the walls...something so inherently final in the echo it left.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

I need to go snuggle with (not so)Smiley!Jim Icon now.  He's so sad.  No kissing. Poor Jim.

"As usual, he failed miserably, ceasing to see the expanse of brilliant blue water just outside his window in Stamford... slipping under again, sinking beneath the weight of the memories of what he'd left behind."  Another beautiful line - another chapter where my tears are welling up.  The scene in Jim's car was so heartbreaking. Actually, the whole chapter was. And beautifully written.

Author's Response:

I'm really glad you liked it - I have to admit, there are few things I love more than Tortured!Jim...and it's kinda more fun to torture him in this fic because we know things are going to end well (at least, it looks like they will....).

Thanks again for reviewing!

Even though I've seen both CN and GWH many times, the section where the POV's merge still brought tears to my eyes!  I just love how you take what we know and what we've seen and then oomph it up several notches to where I think I can actually feel what what's in their hearts and minds.  (Or, as they say on Mad TV, you took it to a "whole nover level")

Author's Response:

OMG - hey, kaystar! I'm really glad you said that, because I know how many times CN/GWH have been done (and how many times I've written them, guh).  I was really trying here to bring something new to the table, but to make it plausible at the same time.  And hee - glad you thought I took it to a "whole nover level"!  (Why did I hear Gareth saying that in my head?)

Thanks, as always, for reviewing!!

I registered today just so I could send you a review. I have become mildly addicted to your series' Away From the Cameras. I have read most of S2 and all of S3 so far. I believe this is your newest chapter, but it was out of order so hopefully I am reviewing the new one. First of all, your writing style is amazing! Second, this chapter had me in tears. It definitely filled in the blanks and was extremely realistic. I could totally see the day after CN and Jim and Pam's last week together happening this way. Wow! Great job. I look forward to the rest of the chapters. This will keep me from going through JAM withdrawals this summer! Thanks! :)

Author's Response:

Oh wow - that's so flattering, really!  I'm really glad you registered, BTW; there are so many excellent writers on here, and we all thrive on feedback -- so review all you want!  Yes, this is my newest chapter -- I wrote "The Return" and "Phyllis's Wedding" a while back (was being impatient - should've waited until the season was over).  So I'm starting from the beginning now that the season is over and will write them in order of episode. I'm really glad this chapter filled in the blanks for you in a realistic way, because that is exactly what I was trying to do with it!  I had such a great time writing the season two/one series, and so far, I'm every bit as excited about this one -- so it's great to hear that you're enjoying it!

Thanks for taking the time to register and review - means a lot!

Oh, the repetition of "seriously"- how could it have done anything but kill Pam to have him throw it back like that at her. So much pain, here. So beautifully rendered.

Author's Response: It took me forever to notice that you were reviewing "The Return" -- my fault for jumping the gun in writing that so long ago, I forgot about it, LOL.  I was absolutely wracking my brains trying to find where they had that exchange in the GWH chapters - hee!  Thanks for another thoughtful review - you're so awesome!

Their eyes met again, and in the beat that followed, she knew what he was saying: He didn't hate her because he couldn't hate her; he didn't hate her because he was in love with her.

Oooh. Now, not only is this lovely, but it opens up your story in a really interesting way. I've always argued that  Pam didn't contact him after she called off the wedding because she thought he was mad at her or did hate her. I am very excited to see your rationale for this- because the truthiness of the emotions you portray always hits me hard.

Author's Response:

Heh - it's funny that you say that; I'm putting the finishing touches on the next chapter, and I do directly address why it is that she doesn't contact him.  Hopefully the scenario I create will be a plausible one -- I was definitely working up to something that I had in mind.

Thank you so much for the review, as always; you're so awesome at pointing out the things that work/don't work and why -- I really, really appreciate that!  (BTW: I haven't had a chance to check out your latest - am so swamped that I'm writing like a fiend in the evenings, but really haven't gotten the opportunity to read any of the newer stuff.  But yours is on my list!)

Have to say, it's easier to relive Jim's misery, now that I know how the season ended, but did you have to make it quite so vivid here? LOL. You really are the master of  rendering every pang, ache and heartbreak those two kids inflicted on each other. It's a gift, I tell you! Your  description of Pam's desperation when he tells her he's leaving is so strong...being paralyzed to stop him (even though it's clear, all she has to do is MOVE. Give him a sign.) And the last line of this chapter is absolutely beautiful...so visual an image of such a  a broken boy.

Author's Response: Amen to that, sister -- I know you share my weakness for tortured!Jim (what is that, seriously?  Makes me freaking melt), and it's much easier to - ahem - indulge that weakness now that we know our boy seems to be well on his way to getting the girl. I'm really glad you're enjoying it -- these first few chapters will definitely be heavy on the angst, so it's nice to know somebody's enjoying that!  :) Thanks, as always, for reviewing!

WOW.  This is unbelievable.  I definately need to go reread season 2.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!  I had the best time writing the one for season 2, and I'm finding that I'm loving writing this one, too.  (It's also a LOT easier to write the angst knowing that things seem to have worked out for them -- no matter that it took all stinking season, LOL.)

Thanks again!

Even though we know how things end up at the end of this season, this is still damn painful.  In a good way. :-)

Okay, this kills me:
"What song would I pick...for your wedding?"

Ouchies. The way you have written Jim in this is just guh.  So amazing.  I'm not sure if you meant for him to come across this way, but throughout this there is an undercurrent of anger that just rings so fucking true.  I love it.  He's not just heartbroken, he's pissed and he has every right to be. That's a big wall he's building around himself -- it helps to know that by the end of the season that it's coming down.  Yay.

I love this series.  But, more kissing please. Not for me, mind you. It makes Smiley!Jim icon happy. ;-)

Author's Response:

First of all - I'm still giggling over the fact that your Smiley!Jim icon wants more kissing!  OMG.  Okay.... Thanks so much for leaving such specific comments -- and yeah, I was absolutely going for a kind of sublimated anger beneath the surface there.  I think that Casino Night left him totally devastated, but I do think that prior to it (the confession/kiss), he probably really was finding himself getting more and more frustrated.  And really, I don't begrudge him that - I think he knew that she knew (trying to avoid a Friends moment here, LOL) that he really was struggling with his feelings, and she ultimately just wanted him to keep quiet, sort of maintain things the way they'd always been.

Damn, I could analyze these characters for hours and hours and hours, LOL.

Thanks again for reviewing -- and I promise, there will be more kissing!  (Hint: I tend to write angsty Pam as prone to smacking one on Jim; also - if you read the first series of this, you know that I love writing drunk!Pam kissing Jim as well...pushes the bounds of reality, yes, but it's damned fun to write!  So there'll be some drunken flashbacks, probably, as this goes along.)

Thanks again!
