My heart broke, too. For Jim and for his Mother.  My mother has Alz and I can identify with the statement that he misses his Mother because I feel that way too.  I loved her smiling at him as he handed her the dinner tray. And I love Jim even more for living with his mother and taking care of her.

Oh, this was sad, but so sweet that Jim is a good boy and takes care of his mom.  I'm not going to read the other reviews until I finish what you've written so far, but I assume Robert is either his dad or a brother killed during the war.

I also like the fact that Pam being engaged doesn't deter him from pursuing her.  Go Jim!

This just breaks my heart. I love everything you've got going here, and truth be told, I miss the days when sleeping around wasn't common. Guess I'm just an old-fashioned gal. Ok, back to reading!

Yeah, this one's a heartbreaker. It's a nice dimension to add for Jim's character. I also like that Jim the Boss lives with his mother, yet Pam lives alone. I understand why, it's just a nice switch-up.

OH!  I remember this.  I'm so glad you updated.

This chapter broke my heart.  You've really been able to work these characters into another era.  Very difficult to do - so well done!
