Five minutes later you walk out of the conference room and find him sitting at your desk. Your heart beats loudly in your ears and you wipe absently at one last tear as you make your way around the counter.

“Now I get it.  You came back because you want my job.”

He spins towards you as your computer screen goes black and gives you a shy smile.

“Actually, I want…something else.”

You feel your face grow hot as his words hang in the small space between you.  In the elevator, you tell him what you want and dinner is forgotten.
