Story Notes:
Probably completely OOC but I love when he gets things right...which is a rare occasion indeed...
PRIDE

Michael watched as they kissed. He saw all the passion and love that took years to realize. He saw all the joy and happiness that only true love could possibly bring.

He saw two people who had found their whole world.

He saw the hidden glances they thought he hadn't noticed.

He saw the longing they hadn't realized.

He saw the pain they hadn't acknowledged.

He saw the jealousy he'd felt at witnessing two such connected people melt into each other.

He saw secrest and pranks.

He saw compassion and joy.

He saw a baby with emotive eyes and the worlds brightest smile.

He saw the future.

He saw the past.

He saw the inevitable.

He saw all of this wrapped up in a single kiss.

And for once Michael G. Scott was lost for words.

Because he didn't need to say anything.

It was all there to see.

And as he watched the culmination of all these things he felt only one emotion.

One he knew he didn't necessarily deserve to feel.

One he knew he'd only barely earnt with his simple statement of “never, ever give up.”

One he knew he would hold close to his heart for the rest of his life.

He saw briefly what a parent must feel when their kids finally get it exactly right.

He felt pride.

And as they walked back down the isle,

As they left the door and their past behind,

As they walked into the sunlight and their future,

Michael knew what forever meant.

It meant never ever ever give up.

It meant them.
