This was a bit rough for me regarding Pam (I don't hate her) but thanks for having the balls to write some Jim Karen stuff. I am a big Karen fan and really appreciate whenever someone has the guts to write a happy ending for her.
Author's Response: I don't hate Pam at all, nor do I wish her any harm. I wish everyone long life and happiness. But, as they say, go big or go home. I'm tired of seeing 90% of fic being just a vehicle to get Jim and Pam together. I think there are as many happy Jam fics written per day as there have been happy Karen/Jim fics written ever. Why go where everyone else has gone before and done to death, when you can blaze your own trail and piss off a lot of teenaged girls in the process?
10 Nice story! This is a great story, so don't be discouraged by the inevitably crap ratings you get for having the nerve to write a non-JAM story. Some of us really like it and are genuinely with you! Great job! Keep it up!
10 Sorry I forgot to add this: I see it was already mentioned below but I really like the "physical parity" blurb. To me it really gets the essence of Karen. She is tough and hard, etc. but also willing to let herself be made very vulnerable by Jim, which in my opinion takes even more guts. thanks agains.
10 You have no idea how mych I need a story like this. Karen finally get's a little happiness but you stay true to how Jim has never really been there for her (the Cooper's thing about him being driven to her by his Pam frustrations). I'd write this exact story if I had any writing skills at all. And thanks for putting her jealous-bitch side to rest. Thank you! Bravo!

10 Great great story. I've been in many a "discussion" about the degree that Karen loves Jim, and from the looks of this story, I think I've found a kindred spirit. Karen's a smart chick. Her brain is telling her that Jim's a selfish, undeserving user, but she can't pull away. What's that little four letter word that makes smart, together women like Karen do dumb things like give Jim chance after chance after chance? Thank you for believing that she's capable of loving in such a real, human, believable way, and therefore not trivializing the broken heart she got handed.

10 Thanks so much for writing this. Keep it up. I am such a Karen fan (she's so much like me, except she's much prettier). It is more than unfair what they did to her and the only way I'll ever be able to really enjoy Jim and Pam is if they actually own up to what they did and show some serious remorse. I get so mad -- Jim and Pam fucked up Karen's job as well as her personal life, and arent even sorry. On the show, they'll probably be too happy enjoying themselves to ever win me back, but this fic is exactly what I hope happens. Jim needs to own up to all the shit he's hurled at my girl.
Also, I love the picture you paint of Karen with all the observations. The thing about body language is so right. You make her strong and vulnerable at the same time, which is great writing. Keep it coming. I love it.
10 Keep it coming is all I can say. I get an email when this story gets updated and rush to read it because there's precious little out there now to redeem how sad I am for Karen. And I actually hope you get Pam a bit dirtier too, becuase I used to really like her and I guess I want to again but she reeally ruined herself for me on the last two episodes. I would love it if its Pam on the phone and GuiltyJim wants to argue with her a bit. Thanks so much!

Wasn't planning on dragging Pam into this too much, but then again I haven't written the next chapter so who knows, maybe you'll get lucky ;) Seriously, though, I'll probably try to keep the narrative in Jim's head for the duration. 10 I have to admit this chapter makes me more sympathetic to Jim, but more Karen fallout in ch4 please! She still deserves to really say her piece.

Your stories always seem to have one line or part that just gets into my head and makes hotness. The ultimate was the simple one about Karen "making the noises she makes when she needs to be touched." In this story, it's the direct and firm ordering Pam to undress and her complying...

I liked this. I think you capture Andy well in that he's both cripplingly insecure and likable all at once. And I've always liked his bravado-masked Karen soft-spot.

I'm glad you liked it! Andy is such an amazing character; we've learned more about him in 2 seasons than we learned about most of the characters in 4.
Andy does seem to think there's more between Karen and himself than Karen seems to ("It's very Sam and Diane," "she's only one of my oldest friends"); I thought it was interesting to think about the possibility that Karen avoids the drinking game of Diwali not just out of professionalism, but out of prior experience of what can happen when you get tipsy with the Nard-Dog. I have the feeling that will never be canon. ;)

After being dumped by Jim, Karen tries to take back control of her life... by kidnapping Jim! What nefarious plans does Karen have in store for him? Can Pam rescue Jim before Karen makes him a castrati? Why is Dwight obsessed with semen? All this and more inside! You'd think that maybe it'd be more of a crime drama than anything else, but I'm voting for the anything else.
And how come there's no option for Genres:Twisted? I'd use that.
Dammit... This piece has turned into a tragedy. Your Jim is very in character: he likes to use chicks to fight his battles for him. My compliments.

Tandem Writing. A die-hard Jammer and a not-so-Jammer write alternating paragraphs to write a coherent story... 10 This is totally awesome. I really like how fluffy you make the Jam sided writing and how it (obviously) clashes with your usual angsty Karen-side. And I love how things escalated and the final shots were hilarious. Keep the stories coming! (These are lean times for Team Karen, but I don't have to tell you that.)
10 This is excellent... There's a very endearing innocence to the way Andy acts and you've really caught it. In my mind (with Karen), in yours (with Kely) , and now the writers (with Angela) he seems to be the perfect guy to pick a woman up from the very bottom. As a hero would... a modern day singing warrior poet ;)

He has this ability to make a woman feel special when he strips away his facade and opens himself up to complete vulnerability. And in the fic world, and now even on the show, he only seems to be successful with women when they are at their lowest. Oh Andy. I love him! A modern day hero by accident. 10 If I ever really, really, needed to count on somebody to step up to the moment, to not run and hide, to be there for me when I'm at my weakest, Halpert would be the last guy on my list. Considering the level of emotional maturity and respect he paid Karen, I'm not surprised he failed Pam. And the times of adversity, well that's when you find out who your real friends are. Roy's redemption so perfectly mirors Jim's fall. This is an awesome story. I love it!

10 I don't think your Karen voice is dead at all. It sounds very real to me, like a strong person who has just been used in a very hurtful, violating way. Innocence? Gone. Wounded? Definitely. Broken? No way.

I must have missed this the first time through. Probably I was mad at fandom for one reason or another. Anyway, this was great. When you use somebody, you're a tool, and too many stories just let Jim off the hook. Great Karen voice, too. Great story.

10 With a lot of Karen fanfic these days I tend to stop reading very early because she's written as either the evil bitch-obstacle who got what was coming to her or as some super understanding Jam worshiper who submissively accepts her pain and becomes Jim's cheerleader in the face of the almighty purity that is Jim and Pam.
Thanks for not doing this, and instead giving her a real voice. Great story so far.
