This picks up pre-merger and is spoiler free, a bit AU as well.  I began this back in October (maybe even September), and obviously the show has deviated quite a bit from what I speculated here.

This begins with angst, but there is a great deal of fluff, steam, smut, and silly...for several, several chapters.  My idea was to go beyond the happy ending, so to speak.

Author's Response: haha, I thought it was pretty ironic that Michael was demoted for letting his lovelife affect his job, and yet somehow Karen seems like a better choice to be manager. But don't worry; the next, as-yet-to-be named chapter is going to explore the reason WHY Karen suddenly has all this power ... and i don't think it's going to be what you expect. :)

Hey! I love this fic. I concur with what everyone esle has said about how so many different voices are melding into one really cool story. I just had one problem with this chapter. Continuity wise, shouldn't this have come before Ma Halpert's Boys, Since in the Dwight and Baseball chapter Dwight asked Jim to Double date THAT night, but the BBQ happend two weeks after that? Not a big deal but it was confuddling me a bit/

Author's Response: I haven't written the next bit yet, but I don't think that Jim would push himself just because of a threat to his job; maybe to someone else's job, especially if the person being threatened is a friend of his.  And I do think Andy is going to play a key role in what happens next.
