Man, this is so great! I love how you made the figurative zombie/literal zombie connection, and Dwight was cracking me up, and Michael's cell phone calls to Ryan were AWESOME, and the terse action of it all. You really created a mood here - I completely enjoyed it.

Author's Response: Thanks! I\'m trying to interpret and intigrate my favorite parts of the show into this fanfic to make it seem (at least) semi-realistic. I hope you keep reading!

Oh, this is good! I like the dynamic you've got going here, and the premise is GREAT for a Jim/Kelly fic. Poor sad drunk Jim.

Oh my God. This just blew me away. Every character is so dead-on perfectly expressed - they're exactly the right age  for the things they're doing, which you wouldn't think would be hard, but this fandom hardly ever gets right (Ryan and the Daily Show, Stacy and Grey's Anatomy, Jim and his wretch indie music, Pam and CLOUD ATLAS - all these references were like little gifts). You captured every one of them so simply and it's all written incredibly well, just the right amount of details.

She tries to imagine him dancing, like really dancing and not doing some goofy “it's so funny that I'm dancing” dance. She can't.

OH, this killed me.

I really can't praise this highly enough. Just fantastic.

Summary:

Sometimes Jim hears about how people do crazy things when they've got nothing left to lose, but he's never been that kind of person.

Set during Conflict Resolution.

Oh God, this is fantastic. Your Jim is just completely perfect, that mix of funny and cool and pathetic and passive.

He stays up late on his laptop some nights, sprawled out on the living room couch in his boxers, almost buying concert tickets but when he gets to the screen that tells you that you only have two minutes to make your purchase, it freaks him out, so he decides that Philadelphia is a pain-in-the-ass drive and he doesn't like the band that much.

That so encapsulates him I can't even handle it. And his relationship to Dwight and Pam and everybody - just great. It's especially impressive to pull this off and make it interesting when you're treading older canon, going over stuff we saw on screen - and you totally do it and do it well. Awesome.

Oh man, the Andy/Karen at the end I totally buy in a way that is really disturbing. Poor Karen.

There's a reason she doesn't drink Jaegermeister.

HEE. Yeah, there is.

This is bizarrely delightful! Ryan is Daniel! Dwight is her STEPBROTHER. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Awes.

YES! EAT IT, HALPERT.

I am still in love with this. How it's awkward and sweet and Ryan's being kind of completely amazing. Also, and I meant to say this earlier, you do such a good job in this story of having them hook up the way actual humans in their 20s hook up. With the leaning and the hands and the drinking and whatever, instead of, I don't know, three dozen roses or something ridiculous. It's GRATE.

Dude, so I've been grading all day and IT IS MISERABLE, and so to make it through I reread this WHOLE FIC, a chapter in between every so many exams. And ahhhh, IT IS SO GOOD. IT GIVES ME SO MANY RYAN/PAM FEELINGS. Greatest grading reward ever? YES.

MY HEART IS VERY FULL AT THIS MOMENT.

Oh, this is so great - YAY Pam/Ryan! YAY LEAVING DUNDER-MIFFLIN. And hee, the Sex in the City thing was awes.

And augh, her getting rid of things like the yogurt lid and paperclips hit ME in the griefbone, but also, it's so time. This was just so satisfying. WELL PLAYED, YOU.

Reviewer: Annakovsky Signed 9
Date: April 11, 2007 Title: Chapter 12: It's impractical, I'm not going to try to get a house like that.

Oh God, I love this. I love how your Pam is so - Pam. She kind of lets things happen to her, but while they're happening she's thinking, trying to figure out what she wants, how she feels, what she's doing - and then she acts, finally and decisively. I love that she's doing things for her, realizing things about herself and about the guys. I love how Kelly thinks the Ryan call is about her - because to everyone, what's going on with them is the most important thing, and because Kelly doesn't know.

It kills me how sad things are with Jim, but it's also so realistic - it kills me that they've missed their opportunities. But also, Jim DOES always work with a safety net, and I like how Pam's figuring that out.

It's making me think about it on the show, how at least Pam broke up with Roy for herself, that she didn't work with a safety net, make sure she had Jim lined up first. And yeah. This is just great.

I also like how I'm really not sure that she's going to end up with either Jim or Ryan - I still want her and Ryan to be in love forever, but I think the uncertainty is so realistic.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, PAM. RYAN IS YOUR LOBSTER.

I love the stuff about things being easy versus hard, and your Kelly is AWES - also, I love how you're not glossing over things being SUPER AWKWARD AT WORK. Haha, hooking up with a coworker on a boat has its downside.

(I want Ryan and Pam to be happy together so badly omg.)

Author's Response: Hahaha, now I'm imagining Pam and Ryan's heads photoshopped onto lobster bodies... hahahaha. You kill me sometimes, you know that?  Okay, a lot of times. But only in the best way ;)

THIS IS SO HOT. I love how they're just mildly drunk at all times, as you are on a cruise, and how she and Ryan just sort of mess around. IT IS AWESOME. I WANT THEM TO GET MARRIED AND HAVE BABIES AND STUFF. I meant to go to bed an hour ago but I can't stop reading this.

Author's Response: I've never been on a cruise, but yes I think if I were on one (especially for work?) I would be drunk the entire time.  Thank you!

auuuuuuugh, omg, that and the FINGER HOLDING, and everything omg. You are really hitting me at that place deep down inside that's still 15 years old, and that is a good thing. If a little embarrassing for me. I love how EASY the Pam/Ryan is - everything about Jim/Pam is hard... that's what - oh God. Anyway. Jim/Pam is so tortured, and I love the contrast here, how Pam and Ryan just fall together easily, and how high schooly and sweet it is.

Author's Response:
