I am usually very critical of AU pieces because sometimes the author will skip over the most important parts like the back story and just get to the physical side of a certain paring's physical relationship but you have not with this story! You're doing a great job with describing James' heartbreak over Matilda's new relationship with Robert! The only thing that confused me was James' mother's name was Alice but then she was known as Abbey when you described her pregnancy and eventual death. Was that her nickname or did I miss something in an earlier chapter? But overall, this is one of my favorites! keep up the great work!
