I thought this was perfect. I know you posted this a little while ago, but i just waned to tell you i adored this story, as well as the first part of this series. I adored the line "I'm not going anywhere, Bees...Pam." I thought it was beautiful and said so much. The beauty of both the stories so far in the series lies in the simplicity and sincerity you achieve. You're doing a lovely job, and i really do hope you continue with the series.

Summary: Present day, Jim works at Dunder Mifflin but pam never did. He goes to a strip club for his birthday and she is a stripper there... I got this idea after I saw Employee of the Month with Jenna Fischer and didn't decide to do anything about it until after Jim said he had never seen a stripper and Jenna was approached by Elizabeth and told her she could strip. I just loved the idea of the "Damsel in Distress", Enjoy!

Okay, at first i didn't really think I would like this story. And even though that sounds like an insult, i assure you that it is a testiment to your story telling skilz (yes, with a 'z'), because now, after finishing this chapter, i LOVE this story. I am completly hooked. And as such, i beg you to please, please update this story. Please. I must know what happens. What's going to happen to Pam? Is she ok? Where did Jim go? Was it just that he did loose his phone? Is he going to come back? What about Roy? What about JimandPam? Is there going to be a JimandPam? I need to know. Please update. Please.

I know you posted this story way back when, but i just wanted to let you guys know it's one of my favourites and i still enjoy reading it.

I love the lines “BeigeMan will now disappear into the wall. Shazam.” and “And where can you hide in Baskin Robbins anyway? The whole building is windows.”. I giggle EVERY TIME i read them.

So anyway, it's a lovely and very funny one-shot. Thanks for posting it!

Author's Response:

It was more than a year ago! :)  I'm glad you enjoy it so much.  It was fun to write together, although muggins did most of the heavy lifting.  It's a long time back, but I'm pretty sure those two lines you quoted are muggins' lines.  The characters actually came from real life -- I was BeigeWoman once, and muggins knew a ChromaMan.  We swapped the genders.

Thanks for reviewing, and for all the re-reading!  It's neat to know a story is still resonating. ;)

The dream where he's running in the forrest really got to me and i was honestly feeling a little bit sick with concern. What a nerve-wracking tale! You did a wonderful job with this chapter. I really enjoyed it.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad I creeped you out.  You are so sweet, and the part in the woods was a little difficult to write, but I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it all the same.  I'm also honored that you took the time to read the entire thing.  I know it's a little long. . .but thank you.

Oh I adore this story! I'm so happy that there's a new update! And this was a particularly wonderful chapter. The way Jim and Pam are interacting, as well as Dwight and Pam, is just lovely. I loved the entire "Girl's Games" conversation. You are doing a beautiful job with this piece, I can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: What a nice review! I'm glad that you liked the "Girl's Game" conversation. What I was trying to do it was start with the absurd like the first conversation about the bears, but then have it quickly become serious for Jim and Pam. So hopefully it was funny but also a little dramatic. Hopefully. Anyway, thank you for the review epiphilly.

They both seem very in-character, and the insight into Pam's mind was (what i would consider) flawless. I cannot believe this was your first time writing. Do you normally write fiction? If not, i certainly hope you start, and if so, i certainly hope you continue with your lovely talent.

What an intriguing twist! I really like the concept for your story, even though i only have a rudimentary knowledge of The Divine Comedy. You write the dialogue of the characters and the inner-dialogue of Jim really well. I am so very curious to see where you take this - whether or not you are going to force Jim through the rings of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven, or whether you have a completely different ambition for you story. Either way, it is very interesting reading. I hope there's more soon!

I am so all about the happy times now. I can't wait for them to come and provide a blissful reprieve from all this sadness. You're doing a lovely job. I think you've written the best angst i have read in quite a while. I really like the confusion and questioning and anxiety you mixed into all the sadness, especially in your first chapter, and especially again with Pam and her role. But i still would like the happier times to start rolling round. Hehe. Lovely work.

Author's Response: Well, I know I'm ready for a reprieve from the sadness; living in angst-town for days at a time while I write this doesn't do much for my mood, I must say.  There's still difficult ground to cover, but things are starting to look up.  Your compliment about the angst means a lot to me -- I'm trying to write this as realistically as possible, not oversimplifying the situation, but not just angsting just for the sake of angsting, either.  I'm really glad you liked it.  Thanks for the review. :)

Summary: Past Featured StoryThis is the last of my "near miss" rewrites for season three episodes. This one is based on "The Negotiation" and also a Pam talking head from "Michael's Birthday". It's also more angsty than the others.

I am enjoying this immensely. I am always so impressed by the way you write Pam and Jim, but in this (clearly) especially Pam. She's beautifully flawed, so real. I really empathise with her. What a difficult situation! I hope she can work through it with Jim. I can't wait to see if she does. Merry Christmas!

Okay, so it might just be the sentimentality of Christmas and all that is associated with it speaking, but i am fairly sure that your story was just simply beautiful. Really, honestly beautiful. And I am aware I am talking about a fanfic, but goodness it was pretty. What a wonderful writer you are! This is the first time in a very long time I have wanted a white Christmas (I live in Australia, so we're all about the approximately thousand degree Christmas days down here) and the person I love beside me. Oh, look at how sentimental I am being! Your story really was oh so gorgeous, though. Merry Christmas!

Well done on starting your first multi-chapter fiction! I think this chapter sets up the rest of your story wonderfully. It doesn't dwell on any particular fact, it's elloquent, and seems very "Pam" - even if this kind of thing wouldn't happen on the show. But i think that you are right, and exploring things that doesn't/wouldn't happen on the show is exactly why fanfiction is writen. I mean, have you checked out the smut on this website?! I could only wish for that to happen on the show : ). The only thing i wasn't too sure about was Roy's "He never expected her to end this, especially when he is so close to complete control of her life" because it changes from Pam's perspective to Roy's momentarily, and it makes it seem like Roy's objective the entire relationship was to purposely and objectively control Pam's life, when i believe it would have been much more an ignorant behaviour (but not less violent, abusive, or destructive) on Roy's behalf. The line comes off a bit "evil genius". Basically, I don't think he's smart enough to actually be aware that he's nearly in complete control of her life. But, goodness, that's just nit-picking. I really do like your premise and your writing. I do hope Pam can get to Jim before anything (or anyone) gets in their way...but I'm sure it's not going to be that easy for them. I can't wait to read how you continue this. And again, well done!

Author's Response: I get what you\'re saying about that line, but just to clear it up (though I\'m not sure it really matters!) - that part isn\'t really what Roy\'s thinking, but Pam\'s perspective on the situation, if that makes sense. It was confusing the way I wrote it, but it\'s all going on in HER head, so when she sees him stunned, she\'s processing why. I agree, he\'s not smart enough to come to that conclusion on his own :-). This is just how Pam sees it happening. Thanks so much for the thoughtful response!
