Hmm...I started reading X-Files fanfic about 10 years ago (yikes!) and consider myself quite the aficianado, having read everything from the cringe-worthy horrible to the breathtakingly amazing. I "retired" from reading fanfic about four years ago, when my "real" life started to kick into gear (fell in love, got married, etc.), but have since discovered a little show about a paper company in Scranton, PA. I knew it was all over when I discovered MTT, and I was quickly sucked into the world of Jim and Pam. Reading fanfic is now one of my greatest guilty pleasures again, and I've finally started to dip my toes into writing some, too.

Oh! Thank goodness I'm a night owl! I was sooo happy to see this story finally continue! Plus, I live in the Pittsburgh area, so it's always awesome to see the 'burgh pop up in a story! Thanks, PPC, and pleeease don't make us wait so long for more.

I'm soooo happy you updated this, PPC!! I thought you had abandoned us, but what a pleasant surprise on the most recent page. Your AU is so believable -- I love 1950s period pieces for some reason. Such a romantic era (though I'm concerned for Mr. Halpert with all of his smoking). Please update again soon, especially after this last chapter!

Oh, Sweetpea, this is one of the best stories I've ever read! Usually, I don't like the concept of J/P moving somewhere else, where the Scranton folks aren't a regular part of their lives, but the Buffalo move seemed to really fit. Since the strike, I've been reading a lot of fic, and I was always so excited to see that "Allentown" had been updated. Now, we need the next great masterpiece!

Author's Response: Good grief, this was so great to read, Mountaineers!  I'm glad you think the Buffalo move seemed to fit.  I think it's a town similar to Scranton and not so far away and they had the nice connection with Jim's parents having lived there, too.  It's so cool to read that you excited to see updates to this and thanks so much for this review.  I'm taking a little bit of a breather, and I don't know about masterpiece (gulp!) but there will be more!  Hope to see you then.

Loved the little descriptions of his apartment, and I can see this as Jim's real life. Please hurry with the picnic chapter. I'll be looking forward to it!

Author's Response: Thanks Mountaineers02! I kind of like that they don\'t give us much background detail, that way I get to make it up. :) Thanks for reading, and I\'m at work on the next part...hopefully it will flow the way Jim\'s parts have been doing for me lately. Thanks for reading!

I've been waiting for this all summer, and it was kind of like a season-ending cliffhanger. But you've wrapped it up nicely. If you choose not to continue this story, I'll be happy with the ending. But I've re-read the first few chapters about 14 times, no joke, because It's probably seriously my favorite first date fic of all.

Author's Response: Hey Mountaineers, I was thinking of you the other day when I was finishing this chapter and watching CU steal an unexpected victory from WVU ;) I\'ve got a few more bits in the works before it\'s over, but it\'s all outlined and ready to go. Oh, this chapter was so good! I have to admit, I am usually on the bandwagon of we don't have to really see their wedding for me to be satisfied, but after reading this, I would love to see them finally get married. This is exactly how I would picture a Jim and Pam wedding, complete with Dwight as some sort of guard with a contract. Excellent story so far, Dundie All-Star. Please keep it coming!

Author's Response: Thank you! I feel that way too, actually; in fact, I would love if we came back in season 5 and they were already engaged or something. I\'m really glad you\'re enjoying this though, and if we do get to see their wedding I hope it\'ll have some humorous elements in it, like Dwight as a bodyguard. Be on the lookout for more; there\'s three more chapters to go!

“So here’s the thing,” he begins and somewhere on the journey from the kitchen to here he’s fallen apart a little and his voice is low and gravelly, “I can’t promise you that the fireworks are always going to work out perfectly, or that the Champagne will be fancy and expensive, or even real Champagne. But I can promise you that I’m always going to want those things for you, I’m always going to think you deserve them. And when something goes wrong, I am always, always, going to come back and try again because this life that we have, it’s worth it.”

Shootingstars, this is brilliant. Exactly how I would see Jim proposing. Great Job. Can we get another chapter?

Nice work, Nightswept. I have to admit, I was nervous about Natalie at first. I'm not sure if it's more of a threat for Pam to have a romantic rival (because we know Jim would never cheat), or for her to have a BestFriend! rival. I always thought that the Karen story on the show would have been much more intense if Jim and Karen would have never actually dated, but if Karen would have stepped in as a best friend to Jim. That would've really done some harm to Pam, I think. Anyway, back to the review -- I like how this is playing out so far. I'm always excited when the new chapters come out, and I appreciate that you're churning them out so fast. I hope Jim goes after the teaching thing, that he doesn't let Pam's dreams hold him back, although I think that Pam would support him 100%, whatever he chooses to do. Oh, and I'm glad that Josh is a part of this story. I love Jim's fictional siblings...in my head, they're as real as if we'd actually met them on the real show. And please let Pam and Natalie meet sometime soon.

Author's Response: Thank you for the great review. I can definitely see Pam having Jim\'s back and supporting him in his personal aspirations. I think Jim is holding back certain feelings from Pam, and afraid to let her know how truly unhappy he is working at Dunder Mifflin. (I don\'t know why, I kind of sensed this watching actual episodes of the show.) It\'s just a matter of him actually communicating those feelings to Pam. Natalie, as a friend and now the only other normal person in the office and also someone who\'s now taking a place in his life outside of work by dating his brother, is someone he felt he could vent his frustration to. I definitely plan on bringing Pam in soon. I think her and Natalie would make great friends (Pam so needs a girlfriend she can talk to).

Summary: "Oh, mister, wait until you see/What I'm gonna be/I've got a plan, a demand and it just began/And if you're right, you'll agree..." Let's have a bit of fun with our dear girl before TPTB let us know what she really did with her summer vacation, shall we?

I really liked this, Talkative. It's funny, I was looking up surname meanings the other day (totally bored at work), and I looked up Halpert and found out the same info. It's funny, because I always pictured Jim as Catholic, since JK is. Anyway, totally realistic Pam (something I always struggle with) and I loved the neighbor ladies. A refreshing break from all the angst floating around that as soon as Pam goes all NYC, she and Jim will hit the rocks. Please write some more!

Author's Response: Thanks, Mountaineers! Honestly, I think I wrote it this way because I\'m trying to whistle past my worry that the writers will opt for the \"hit the rocks\" scenario come fall. ::shudder::

This. Is. Amazing. So nice, I read it twice (in a row). Please keep up the good work, and I can't wait for part three (and anything else you have in store). Every time a read a good engagement story, I think of how I would like to see it really happen, and I have to say, this is definitely at the top. Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to see the "Pam and the City" on the actual show, but I love how you've kept her in perfect characterization, but still being the Pam that we know. And smokin' hot (literally) Jim in cufflinks will be living in my head for days now. Excellent work again, Talkative.

Could this story have gotten any better? No! Thanks again, Talkative! Hmm. I'm thinking sequel in addition to the prequel...the wedding, perhaps? What was going on with Jim these three months, perhaps? No pressure, lol. Brilliant, and I'm looking forward to your next work. A side note..I like the idea of Jim being upwardly mobile in the company without officially taking Ryan's job. This is what I'd like to see happen on the show.

Author's Response: \"What was going on with Jim these three months, perhaps?\" Yeah, this has occurred to me, but I\'m not convinced that there\'s enough there. I\'ll have to think about it. I\'d kind of like to know what he\'s thinking, watching Pam go through all of this.

Summary: Onto the fourth episode in my series, created to hold us over until the Season 5 premiere. It's Dundie season, and Michael plans to make the annual award ceremony the best yet. His plan to distribute walkie-talkies around the office has its repercussions, and there's a proposal of sorts.

Yay! New story from Callisto! Very nice work. I was thinking about how Pam is going to be able to pay for school, also. She's a bit old for her parents to be helping her, and a receptionist from Scranton wouldn't be able to afford an expensive school like Pratt on her own, so I wonder what the writers are going to dream up for her to magically pay for it. I can see a situation like this happening, where Jim helps her out. Once again, excellence.
